The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is continuing to crack down on trans treatments for minors. Most recently, two hospitals in Colorado elected to stop providing these treatments for minors, citing the Trump administration’s crackdown as their chief reason.

Both the Children’s Hospital of Colorado and Denver Health said they will no longer write or renew prescriptions for puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for patients under 18 years old, 9News reported Friday. Neither hospital previously performed sex change surgeries on minors, according to the outlet.

“Following the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) announced referral of an investigation against Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado), the hospital must suspend all medical gender-affirming care for patients under 18 years old while we await federal court rulings and assess the rapidly evolving legal landscape,” Children’s Hospital Colorado said in a statement. “This referral threatens Children’s Colorado’s Medicare and Medicaid funding, risking care for hundreds of thousands of children.”

Denver Health similarly released a statement saying it “made the difficult decision to suspend gender affirming care to youth” after reviewing actions taken by HHS.

As IFA covered last month, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently announced a crackdown on trans treatments for minors. In an hour-long press conference, he referred to these treatments as “malpractice,” stating “So-called ‘gender-affirming care’ has inflicted lasting physical and psychological damage on vulnerable young people.” In the same press conference, Secretary Kennedy discussed his department’s new proposed rules that would bar hospitals receiving Medicare and Medicaid funding from offering these treatments.

These two hospitals in Colorado are not the first medical centers to make this decision, and they likely won’t be the last. We covered countless stories in 2025 of hospitals and medical centers pausing their trans treatments, and most providers cited the Trump administration in their announcements.

Transgenderism, once a major part of our culture, has been on the decline for years now. Even before President Trump took office, the ideology had already fallen out of favor thanks to political fatigue and new research. And now, thanks to both President Trump’s and Secretary Kennedy’s biblical views on gender identity, children are being protected like never before.

The fight, however, isn’t over. Blue states and politicians are still pushing to protect the transgendering of our children. Let’s thank God for all this progress, and let’s pray that every child across America would be protected!
