Late Sunday, IFA learned that Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized since Friday with an infection. His prognosis is good, thank God. With the Supreme Court expected to rule on abortion any day now, the timing of this feels like spiritual warfare. Our prayers are needed!
During 50 Days of Appealing for Life, we asked you to pray daily for the Supreme Court Justices, their clerks and the lawyers on both sides of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, the Mississippi abortion case that may well change history. It is time to redouble our efforts in prayer and fasting. We have updated the prayer guide so that it is helpful for right now.
Our prayers are making a difference in the lives of the justices, their clerks, the petitioners and respondents! How do we know? Because God promises:
“But know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.” (Psalm 4:3)
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil [sin].” (1 Peter 3:12)
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:22)
“If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:14)
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” (John 15:7)
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

Lord, I pray for Justice Thomas to receive Your healing in his body and the infection to be totally gone. We need him so much on the Court especially with the landmark abortion case coming up. Return him to complete health and feeling strong. Thank you that you will lead the Justices to make the right choice on this case to protect the precious lives of the unborn. Abortion has been a “blight” on our nation since Roe Vs Wade and we want this to be reversed and our nation returned to what pleases You. Thank you Lord.
Keeping the Supreme Court Justices, clerks and others in that arena in prayer. Especially lifting up Justice Clarence Thomas and pray the Lord brings healing and strength to him and peace and comfort to him and his family.
