St. Joseph Church in New Haven, Connecticut, was forced to close its doors temporarily this week after becoming the target of vandalism that included “satanic symbols” painted on the church’s front door.

The church announced the hateful crime in an Instagram post asking parishioners for prayers.

“Last night and 6:00 AM today, there was an act of vandalism at St. Joseph Church, where words and various symbols including a satanic one were painted on the outside doors of the church,” the pastor, Fr. John Paul, wrote. “While we assess the situation and make plans to bless the church, the church will remain closed at least through the end of the day today. Our two daily Masses, confessions, and afternoon Adoration are therefore canceled.”

“I would ask everyone in the parish to pray to Our Lord in reparation for this sacrilege, and to St. Michael for protection against all the powers of hell,” he continued. “Please pray, too, for the perpetrator of this action, who is clearly a very disturbed individual in need of serious help.”

In an update posted to the parish’s Facebook page on Thursday, the pastor drew attention to a string of incidents across the country affecting Catholic parishes. As the Daily Wire reported earlier this week, at least four Catholic churches in four states were burned or otherwise desecrated last week, and several sacred statutes were covered in paint or burned in arson attacks.

The attack on St. Joseph, the pastor noted, “follows an apparent trend of desecrating Catholic spaces throughout the nation, as evidenced by incidents in Chattanooga, Queens, Boston, Sacramento, and Ocala. The underlying motive of these sacrilegious attacks is clear: to intimidate and instill fear in the hearts of those who worship Christ.”

Between the hours of 9 PM last night and 6 AM this morning, a person or group of persons had painted anarchist and…

Two additional attacks were recorded Wednesday, one in Miami, Florida, and another in Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to Catholic News Service.

In Miami, “as a statue of Christ was toppled and beheaded,” and in Colorado Springs, “a statue of Mary was daubed with red paint.”

“Late Tuesday night, July 14th or early Wednesday morning, July 15th, the statue of Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd was desecrated; the head of Jesus was separated from its body,” the Archdiocese of Miami’s communications director told the Catholic outlet. “The statue was located outside its namesake church, the Archdiocese of Miami’s Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Southwest Miami-Dade County. The police were notified and Archbishop Thomas Wenski is asking this investigation be treated as a hate crime.”

The statue of the Virgin Mary in Colorado Springs was tagged with the word, “redrum” (“murder” spelled backward, and a reference to the Stephen King novel, “The Shining”) in what authorities say was an act of simple vandalism.

Dear Lord, In Jesus’ Name, I thank You for allowing me to come into Your Holy Presence through Your Son, Jesus. I pray for those who desecrate and vandalize. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, I pray their hearts will turn to You, they will repent, and know Jesus as their Savior for You desire that all be saved. I pray they know how much you love them, and the all consuming joy of knowing You forgive their acts of terrorism against You and society. Thank you for comforting and strengthening those Christians who are directly affected in their respective parishes by these hateful acts. In Jesus’name, I rebuke the powers of darkness that desecrate and vandalize. Amen.

while I don’t agree with everything the Catholic church teaches, It was the custodian of the gospel for centuries and should not be treated with such disrespect. I think those who desecrate churches should be punished to the full extent of the law, and then be made to listen to the gospel for hours at a time.

Well, we are finally getting to the true rebellion. It is not black against whites, it is Satan against Jesus. We need to expect more attacks on churches, all Christians and Christian organizations. It is called a holy war.

Jesus, I pray that you confound the ways of the enemy and prepare us as Christians to repent and get on our knees and return to you.

Our Father in heaven,
Holy is Your Name. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
You are a righteous God who cannot stand evil because You Are Holy. You hate lie, cheating because You Are Truth.

Forgive us, the Body of Christ who have been sleeping and enjoying Your blessings of a good life in America. Have mercy on us Father.
Thank You that you open our eyes to all these corruption since 2016 when You elected President Trump. Thank You Father. Help us not to be a sleepy Body of Christ anymore. Equip us with Unity, wisdom and discernment so that we can always enjoy life being on guard and pray without ceasing.

We are praying and asking for Your mercy upon all these men and women who disrespect You by taking down statues that their heart will be convicted of guilt and be brave to stand up and REPENT from their sins and accept Jesus as their Savior.

Father God, the enemy want to scare us, the Body of Christ but let us remember that our God is the living God who is alive and well and answer our prayer. Therefore let us be brave and fight every situation on our knees and with love and according to the law of America which You established when You made the covenant with the founding Fathers of America.

Again Father God, we ask that the resources of the ungodly (Antifa, BLM, The Good Club, ACLU, Planned Parenthood, GGE, Open Society Foundation, the Hollywood Elites etc) to dry up. Just as Jesus spoke to the nonproducing fig tree and it dried up from the roots, we speak to the resources of those who work evil in our government and command their money, communication, and alliances to dry up from the roots.

Thank You, Father. For Yours is the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ holy, mighty, majestic, and matchless name we pray, amen.”

Forgive us Lord, and grant us courage and strength to walk in obedience to You! Please be with our nation, our leaders and those in authority. May they seek You and do Your will. Protect them from the temptations the enemy uses to get us off track. Lord, we love You and trust You! You are the author and perfecter of our faith! Come quickly, Lord Jesus! Maranatha!
