Decades ago, Bob Jones prophesied that a Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl win would be followed by “end-time revival.” Then, in February 2023, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl win was followed by revivals around the nation, most notably one that began at Asbury University. As they return to the big game, the team is looking toward the Lord.

She says what many people are seeing with the Chiefs this season is the highlight reel, but God brought them through a very dark season.
“In 2012, we were brokenāwinning only 2 games and facing an unimaginable tragedy,” she wrote. “It was a humbling, desperate season, and we had nowhere to turn but to God. That brokenness brought us to total dependence on the One who holds it all.”
Chiefs’ owner and CEO Clark Hunt inherited the team from his father, Lamar Hunt. … The Chiefs won their first Super Bowl championship in 1970, but they would end up waiting five decades before their next big chance. …
During that 50-year “dark season,” a Christian prophet named Bob Jones prophesied the Chiefs would one day win the Super Bowl again, and when it finally happened, it would be a “sign of end-time revival.” …

Hunt adds for the players it is about so much more than football. As CBN News reported, her husband has always aimed to make Christian faith a part of the Chief’s culture.
The Kansas City Chiefs stadium has a chapel service for people at the games and chaplains are a part of the Chiefs and FC Dallas organizations, he told the Tyler Morning TelegraphĀ in 2019.
“We want our employees to develop spiritually,” Hunt said. “In the National Football League, Christ is really glorified. My identity is my faith in Christ.” …

Apparently they are not the only team with faith. The Eagles won handily and it seemed a sign of victory for USA whose symbol is an eagle. They were overwhelmingly the best. Passing. Catching interfering with the other team passes. And nothing was able to get by them. When the game was over the Eagles coach put his hand on his heart and raised the other hand towards heaven from whence came his help. Itās a sign to me that the Lord is favoring USA and giving us Coach Trump to call the plays. Fight. Fight. Fight. The chiefs will have another chance. š
Nowhere is anyone saying God is with or for the Chiefs to win or they are above any other team with respect to God’s favor. They are not. This whole discussion was about a prophetic word spoken by Bob Jones that the Chiefs GETTING BACK TO the Super Bowl … which finally happened in 2020 after 50 years … would be a sign revival is coming. It had nothing to do with them winning a Super Bowl.
It also said nothing about the actual timing of when we would begin seeing the revival emerge. It was not said once they get back to the Super Bowl revival would immediately happen. God’s timing is not our timing but today there’s no question God IS moving and it appears revival has begun.
God throughout Scripture has pointed to the occurrence of various worldly events as signs of Him moving. That is all this is about and God IS moving … and it isn’t driven by which team is winning or losing.
It also just so happens that God is moving in the Chiefs organization through the Hunt family, management and the players … but that’s not to say it’s not happening elsewhere too. Regardless, revival has begun and the enemy’s resistance will no doubt be intense… SO STAY ON YOUR KNEES AND KEEP PRAYING.
After the last 40 sec. at the 4th quarter, and Eagles clearly won, Praise God for His Will was completed and people were cheering on, because man’s will was not affecting God’s Will. Both teams represented themselves well in play, some seemed more subdued then others but it was wonderful nonetheless. I appreciated the Star Spangled Banner being sung, and Lauren Daigle singing God Bless America in the New Orleans traditional jazz sound.
Finally, when Eagles team players were asked about
their win. The most of them gave God the glory, and thanked Him for His blessings upon the game in safety and effective sportsmanship and having team sports minded players.
God Is Awesome all the time! God bless each one, and dont listen to false prophecy, especially if it really is a worldly minded prophecy . God expects us to obey Him, Listen to His Word, as written, and to further the mission of teaching and preaching, planting seeds of Truth in every place we can.
When the Apostle Paul spoke of athletes, it was not a prophecy about the outcomes of an event.
1Cor 9:24-27 . It was within the context of why Paul himself preaches, what was the reward in that, Vs. 17- 18 “For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.
What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel.”
After going through more comparisons of how he is a servant, how he is to relate to all people, with the intention to preach God’s Word, to win people to Jesus Christ and they were under the law toward Christ , no longer under the Old Law, or without any laws.
Finally his address in vs 24-27 is his comparison with being an athlete, a runner, in a race with many, but only one wins a prize. The prize is a perishable ” crown”, but we who are in the spiritual race for the gospel’s sake, are not competing for that but for the imperishable crown!
vs 26 “Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty . Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.
27 “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
Next chapter 10, goes into how we discipline our our bodies, controlling spiritual and fleshly temptations.
This is what was important about the comparison to the way an athlete trains for events, by Keeping mind and body and spirit toned for the competition, to win the race or event. We are in that spiritual race if we have chosen to Believe, Obey Repent, ask Forgiveness and followed with our baptism into Jesus Christ , Acts 2: 32-43, Rom. 6:1-9
Paul was not glorifying the physical event, and trying to encourage making that Event the way to bring about a revival of any kind. But, each one of us in the race, needs to be doing our part to win, by reaching out to our neighbors, family, strangers, co workers, any who are unsaved and needs to know Truth. That is our race on our way to heaven!
There are Christians in the Chiefs franchise no doubt, but there is also a bizarre idolatry surrounding them in Kansas City that echoes back to Confederacy-nostalgia or something. Canāt exactly pinpoint the spirit ā but itās different from the generic fandoms of other sports teams around the country. And I notice itās Christians taking part in it particular. I see comments on the internet referring to āGodā and āOur Chiefs.ā

In context with this article; Revival when KC won the super bowl in 2020 per prophet Jones? 2020 ushered the darkest hours in America, and through 2024, and darkness is fighting hard but is waning. I look for the devil to be knocked down in America, then let revival have the space. And, forget anything in KC marking revival.
Revival is a wonderful miracle. Let us all worship as we celebrate how God leads us fans and teams.
Of course God doesnāt āneedā football, but as his Word teaches, He uses everything. I am blessed every time I witness Jesus being praised in a public forum and I pray many are brought to faith as this football team lifts Him up.
So thankful to hear of this connection between the Chiefs and our Heavenly Father. I will be praying for Heavenly victory to glorify God. Go Chiefs!

I agree with you 100%, Staci … God doesn’t need football to accomplish his purposes … in fact he doesnt need us … but he can USE football and us and he does. Thank you God for allowing us to glorify and serve you in this way. And BTW I think he does give us things like football for our pleasure and to build relationship … not to worship it as some do.

I have prayed for the revival of the Lord’s church for over 40 years. To have another would be the very best news that I would ever receive.
Ron, when I hear people indicate how long they have been praying for revival, I often remember a conversation I had as a young upstart youth leader with 2 elderly sisters in the congregation I was a part of. I was praying for revival and awakening to begin – and I meant NOW! They kindly let me know that I might need to practice patience and endurance, because they had been praying that for 50+ years! Well, now I understand, because that was about 50 years ago, and that prayer has never lessened. I believe we’ve all seen moves of God come and go, here and there – but I’m so ready to see such a mighty move of God that it comes to stay, and is everywhere – until He returns to establish His millennial throne on earth. It’s coming!!!

Did you know it was first fulfilled in 2020 Super Bowl 54 when KC beat the SF 49ers, the year we of Covid and the Church resorted to Zoom beginning World Wide fellowship and joining together. Also when we entered the year of the āPey or Mouthā on the Jewish Calendar a very prophetic time also our New Decade 2020.

YES! Prophet Bob Jones, a humble and accurate servant of the living God who passed away several years ago had been hugely instrumental internationally for decades. He is laid to rest in our Church grave yard. Not only was there a move on the campus at Asbury, but there were many in the past two decades.
Father we pray that we will all humble ourselves, repent, pray and seek your face for a huge revival in America and around the world and d that you will protect and lead our precious President Trump by your righteous right hand!

Something jumped out at me as I read this. The KC Chiefs first Super Bowl win was in 1970, the year of the great spontaneous revival at Asbury College, now university, that went around the clock. We only left Hughes Auditorium to eat a quick bite of food, or sleep a few hours. Isn’t it interesting that their first Super Bowl win was just before the great revival at Asbury which spanned the globe in the following 20 years; and the Chiefs second Super Bowl just preceded Asbury’s next glorious visitation that brought 50,000 people to the tiny town of Wilmore! Tomorrow will be a cosmic showdown, undoubtedly. The horns of hell will try to kidnap women and children in sex trafficking. Other expressions of darkness will happen. But the superior forces of the armies of heaven have been marshal not only by Almighty God, but by the praying warriors here on earth. However, I must let you know that Bob Jones was accused of and confessed to – sexual improprieties while using his gifts . He was removed from duties. I was very familiar with the Kansas City prophets at the time. Sadly, the hidden sins of this group are still being revealed. The truth of the matter should be told , so as not to sully the gospel of Jesus Christ .

I am very proud to be a 60+ year Chiefs fan because of the leadership of the organization … the Hunt family. Lamar & Norma laid the groundwork to allow God to do what He is doing today in that organization. Clark & Tavia have picked up that mantel and faithfully carried it forward. My prayer is the NFL would follow suit and flee from their woke and prideful ways allow the Holy Spirit to flood their platform of influence. It’s happening through more players today but I pray for a FULL OUT BLITZ on the kingdom of darkness by the NFL … ushering in the Ultimate Super Bowl … that Lamar Hunt, not surprisingly, envisioned and named.
This is amazing story however they need to look at the character of some of their players. Organizations including pro football teams need to hire on talent and character that aligns with their beliefs, if they donāt they really donāt believe in them they simply use them for publicity.
