Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, confirmed Naftali Bennett as the country’s new prime minister on Sunday evening, as the head of a narrow majority coalition of small parties that has replaced Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time in 12 years.
The vote was as close as it could possibly be, with the Knesset voting 60-59 to confirm the government by one vote.
Earlier, the Knesset heard speeches from Bennett and Netanyahu, as well as from smaller parties. Bennett thanked his rival for his service, and promised to work with U.S. President Joe Biden, though vowed to oppose the Iran nuclear deal.
Netanyahu retorted that Bennett could not be trusted to keep his word, and vowed to topple the new government from the opposition benches, assuming that his last-minute efforts to encourage coalition members to defect from Bennett failed. . . .
Other speeches included an oration from Mansour Abbas, whose Islamist Ra’am party is the first Arab party to play a major role in an Israeli government. Abbas delivered his address in Arabic, which is one of Israel’s official languages.

O Lord, there are two kingdoms in conflict today, but you taught us to pray “Thy kingdom come.” We are not of this world so help us keep this in mind daily. May we see in the events happening all around the signs of your Kingdom getting nearer. May we set our sights on the eternal things – the souls of men and your eternal Word. Interestingly, I noted that a headline just a few down from this one, stated that, in response to a more moderate Israeli leader winning over Benjamin Netanyahu and with a seat for the Palestinians now at the table, a pro-Palestinian group burned the Israeli flag in NYC. What a way to celebrate.
Lord, You see all of this happening. Though we are perplexed, we will not be cast down or dismayed. We continue to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Lord,expose any plans of Satan and the New World Order and this new prime minister, Biden, and other enemies to being down Israel for Satan.
Defend Israel Lord against his domestic and foreign enemies! Use any force you please to defend it. Thwart the efforts of the Israeli people to nothing. You have a pact of saving Israel and we know You will fulfill it Father.
All the plans of the enemies to make Israel disappear and enslave it to nothing will fail. The Lord will pay back for all the evil brought by this satanic New World Order.
