I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for religious freedom to be protected in America. We especially pray that the rights of chaplains like Rusty Trubey would be protected.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Previously, Veteran Chaplain Rusty Trubey was censored for preaching a biblical sermon. Now, with new leadership in charge of the Department of Veterans Affairs, he’s hoping for a reversal of the policies initially used to muzzle him.

From CBN. A U.S. Army Reserve chaplain is asking for the newly appointed Secretary of Veterans Affairs under the Trump administration to revoke the censorship of sermons–a policy adopted by the V.A.– after the chaplain shared a text from Romans 1, where the Apostle Paul addresses homosexuality.

Who is praying on the wall?

Rusty Trubey, a veteran chaplain at the Coatesville V.A. Medical Center, came under fire after he “felt that God was leading him to preach a two-part sermon series on the first chapter of Romans.”

Trubey preached the second installment of the series, entitled “When a Culture Excludes God,” in June and read Romans 1:23–32.

“In Romans 1, the Bible describes behaviors that cultures engage in and celebrate when they exclude God from their lives. One of those behaviors the Bible describes is homosexual behavior,” explains a letter from First Liberty Institute, a non-profit legal group representing Trubey. …

After the sermon, an onsite V.A. police officer approached Trubey and informed him there were complaints about the content.

Trubey notified his supervisor, who said that Romans 1 was a “very charged and divisive text,” and requested notes from the message. She specifically asked him to “write out any extemporaneous lines that [he] might have said that others might have found offensive.”

The chaplain complied with his supervisor’s request but found that he had been relieved of his duty of offering patient care services to individuals at the V.A. and assigned to logistics while they investigated him for the sermon. …

During that time, Trubey’s supervisor introduced changes to “CVAMC Chaplain Service Standard Operating Procedure and Performance Plan,” which would subject chaplains to discipline if they preach sermons that relate to “divisive, cultural, or political issues.” …

[First Liberty] says the censorship of his sermons not only violates his First Amendment free speech protections but it violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

The group and the Independence Law Center are asking V.A. Secretary Doug Collins to reverse course on the policy changes and to protect the chaplain’s First Amendment rights. …

Heavenly Father, I pray for a swing of the pendulum back to what is right. Whereas in the previous administration, it was often considered offensive to preach from what the Bible clearly states and even to pray outside an abortion clinic; and, whereas the extreme leftist LGBTQ+ groups demanded everyone tolerate, accept, and celebrate their immoral practices; I pray that genuinely Christian chaplains would be able to share their faith in sermons and in outreach as they are directed by Your word and Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Dear Chaplain Trubey,
I am praying for strength and truth to reign in this battle between good and evil within our government. God is all powerful and mighty, and always faithful. I believe all will work out for our good in this situation concerning censorship of the truth in your sermons. It may not be apparent right now, but we will continue to believe that our God reigns! We will storm the heavens with prayer to our Lord, Jesus Christ for this battle to be won.

In Christ,
Ms. Elliott

I am wondering why Paula White is the main pastor for Pastor Trump.? I feel that we need male leadership in the pastorial position.
Pastor Jack hibb said he wouldn’t be willing to be a big part in our governments prayer, I’m not sure that Paula White is the person that shouldn’t be leading our president. If I am wrong about this Holy Spirit convict me otherwise may we find the right person to fill this of position Thank you LORD GOD YHWH

The “problem” with the ideal of freedom of religion is the fact that it necessitates conflict when discussed, because we do not all agree. It is an ideal, because it is so hard to attain. The ability to disagree with civility is almost a forgotten skill in our day, because everyone doesn’t just want equal rights to be heard, but to be the sole voice heard with no opposition – the right to be right, regardless! Any reasonable person should be able to see that this attitude is unreasonable and impossible. As Christians, we should be allowed to speak our convictions, as this chaplain did. And we should learn how to engage in discussions respectfully – if possible. If not, then we must accept that persecution might result when we share Biblical Truth. Yeshua warned us to expect it.
Religion runs the gamut of ideologies, doctrines, and belief systems. It can be Christianity, Islam, Hindu, etc. – more commonly thought of as religions. But it can also be atheism, agnosticism, paganism, etc. – which are presumably “godless”, but still religions. It can be witchcraft and the occult. It can be the worship of anything or anyone – money, power, sex, “mother earth”, etc. This is true because religion is “man creating a god in his own image” – ultimately it is idolatry. It is the inversion and perversion of Biblical Truth – that YHVH created “man in His own image”. YHVH is after relationship – a family – not a religion.
YHVH, we have enjoyed the benefits of “freedom of religion” in this nation for a long time, but ultimately we must face the fact, that it isn’t a guarantee. Perhaps we haven’t taken advantage of these benefits in order to share the Gospel in times of less persecution – if so, please forgive us! You, instead made it clear in John 15:20, “Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you . . .” We take hope that Romans 8:31-39 is also true – nothing, not even persecution, can separate us from Your love, YHVH, which is in Yeshua our Messiah. May we share that incomparable love, whether received with joy or rejected with resulting persecution. In season, out of season – always ready.

This is not freedom of religion from Government interference. Hopefully the Trump administration will fix this.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the bold witness and true teaching of Your word by chaplain Rusty Trubey. The two books our service members need placed in their hands most are: 1. The Bible and 2. Our Constitution. The supervisor used very “trained up” verbiage from a previous administration, let those words come to no avail. LORD, You increase our footprint, Your word says so. Therefore, increase Your footprint in our military from the least to the greatest. Equip each of our service members with Your presence and Your word. Please align our military with the Spirit of You. Let our soldiers operate with the boldness of Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego, never denying worship and honor to You. Thank You for new leadership in our military, let every branch and military school reflect Your precious values. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Dearest Heavenly Father: We pray that you will protect Mr. Trubey and all other preachers and Chaplains that are preaching your word as in the Bible. We have way too many “go-alongers” including many preachers who are changing or twisting your word to suit today’s “culture.” Strengthen those that are faithful in relaying YOUR MESSAGE. We pray Father for clarity and common sense to return and a remembrance of your word cautioning us not to add to or take away from your word. “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. (Deuteronomy 4:2) and (Revelation 22:18 and 19) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Deal swiftly and heartily with those who would impede your teaching and continue to lift up those that stand on and profess your word. We give you all Glory, Honor, Power and Praise for you alone are worthy to be Praised! Amen
