Marjorie Taylor Greene tried recently to oust Mike Johnson from his role as speaker, only to be shut down by a large number of both Democrats and Republicans.
From Al Jazeera. The United States House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly to defeat an effort by Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene to remove Speaker Mike Johnson, a fellow Republican.

In an unusual move, Democrats joined Republicans in a 359-43 vote on Wednesday to keep Johnson in his leadership role and stave off further turmoil in the House.
“I appreciate the show of confidence from my colleagues to defeat this misguided effort,” Johnson said following the vote. “Hopefully this is the end of the character assassination that has characterised the current Congress.”
Hardline Representative Greene has, for weeks, sought to get Johnson kicked out after a string of compromises he made with Democrats. …
Greene is a leading voice of the far-right flank opposed to helping Ukraine. After the House passed the bill in April, she called Johnson a “lame duck”.
Johnson’s leadership was “pathetic, weak, and unacceptable”, Greene said on Wednesday as she triggered the “motion to vacate” measure. …
Republicans have a slim 217-213 majority in the House. Most opposed the vote to remove Johnson, with only 11 in favour and 196 against. …
Democrats, led by Representative Hakeem Jeffries, had promised to keep Johnson in his seat, with 163 against the motion. …

Thank you Lord, for answering prayer. Mike Johnson is doing a wonderful job in a very difficult political situation. Please continue to strengthen him and guide him and bless him as he leads our House of Representatives. May each of us do all we can to pray for and support this godly man.
I pray not only for Mr. Johnson but all those Republicans that are voting along with the democrats that are passing these huge spending bills. May they all come to their senses because this debt is being pass to our children and grandchildren. God’s children are not to be borrowers.
Military spending, including money for Ukraine, has not even reached 2.5% of GNP. You have to keep in mind that one of the goals of money sent to Ukraine is to slow or stop Russian aggression and to send a signal to China that we still have the will to stand up to aggression. The hope here is that we will stop Russian aggression before it spreads to other countries in Europe (Putin said as much before he invaded) as it did with Hitler when we failed to stop his first moved into Europe and to also give China something to think about or at least buy us more time to get ready for a confirmation. If you take into consideration the cost a possible World War involving the combined might of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea and an implied war front in Europe and Asia, any money sent to Ukraine is small potatoes, especially if it reduces or eliminates the war machine of a major country in that alliance.

The U. S. House has already removed one speaker and they don’t need to do it again! Instead, they need to pray for speaker Mike Johnson and ask the Lord to do a mighty work in him and the House of Representatives. They all need to recognize that it is not my will but God’s will be done. Pray and stand against Satan to being disruption to the House.
I do not understand or like government but I do my civic duty. Guide me in making wise choice in elections and in my prayers . You are not of chaos. Bring order and Christ peace to this government and Congress.
