President Biden addressed the economy in his state of the Union Speech, but right now it seems there is no end in sight to inflation.
From Fox Business. President Biden, in his first State of the Union, addressed the elephant in the room: fixing inflation via more government spending.
On average, American families are paying about $385 more a month for just about everything, but for some, costs are even higher according to a FOX Business exclusive based on a new report from Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, ranking member of the Joint Economic Committee….
“They see a risk that inflation will remain higher than previously expected over the next three years, coming largely from the labor market. More than two-thirds of survey respondents cite rising wages as a risk factor,” David Altig, president of the National Association of Business Economics and executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, said Monday.
All the above are complicating the job of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, who is waiting to be reconfirmed. On Wednesday and Thursday he’ll deliver his Semiannual Monetary Policy Report to Congress, and it’s likely he’ll be hammered to provide solutions for rising prices after policymakers admittedly said inflation was “transitory” before delivering a mea culpa on that call in December.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds delivered the Republican response to the State of the Union address. Here are a few of her remarks on the topic of inflation:
We are now one year into his presidency and instead of moving America forward, it feels like President Biden and his party have sent us back in time, to the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, when runaway inflation was hammering families, a violent crime wave was crashing our cities and the Soviet Army was trying to redraw the world map. . . .
The President and Democrats in Congress have spent the last year either ignoring the issues facing Americans or making them worse.
They were warned that spending trillions would lead to soaring inflation. They were told their anti-energy policies would send gas prices to new heights. But they plowed ahead anyway, raising the price at the pump by 50% and pushing inflation to a 40-year high.
Four decades ago, when our nation was last reeling from inflation, I was a young working mom, just starting out. My husband Kevin worked days while I watched our girls. Then we’d switch. We would pass in the yard as he was coming home and I was leaving to work evenings at the local grocery store.
From across the checkout counter, I saw the pain of inflation on my neighbors’ faces; I saw what happens when prices rise faster than wages.
The Biden Administration believes inflation is “a high-class problem.” I can tell you it’s an everybody problem.
I saw moms’ and dads’ paychecks buy them less and less. I watched working people choosing which essentials to take home and which ones to leave behind at the register.
And now President Biden’s decisions have a whole new generation feeling that same pain.

Being retired and on a fixed income, it’s getting harder and harder. Before biden got in office we were a nation that has as on the right track and day 1 of biden’s take over…wham…he shut down our economy. I’m upset the govt ruined this country with lies and ridiculous. They gave our country away and didn’t bother to protect our homeland,way of life, opportunities, health, safety. For people on a strict budget of Social Security, and with groceries going up (each item in the store), gas rising in two weeks by $.40 a gallon, some utilities as well, and to see no end in sight is not good. Vehicles break down and need repair, doctor’s bills, etc., leave us wondering what will take priority in spending in the VERY near future. Seeing these self-serving, wealthy politicians manipulate our tax monies to their pleasure and what they “think” should be done, not thinking of the masses and the poverty to be seen in the horizon because of all this, makes me angry and indignant. But I PRAY and I seek God’s face and LEAVE it ALL in His mighty hand for I know that He is Jehova El Roi, the God who SEES, and He will bring the wicked down and justice will prevail! It’s written all over His Word that for the wicked – their DAY is coming and will be no more in Jesus’ name.
I cost me $1 more per 1 gallon of milk. I see it every week when I buy food.
I especially see it when I buy gas for the car. It is $3.79 now where it was $2.19 for the last year Trump was in office.

Jesus prophesied these things in Matthew 24. All we can do is have faith over fear. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. We have to believe that God put us on this earth for such a time as this. I like to listen to Amir Tsarfati on YouTube because he keeps telling his listeners that we are the luckiest generation to be able to see Jesus Christ in the rapture and come back to earth with Him to rule and reign for 1000 years in our glorified bodies.

Very rare, but the administration did not distribute the speech prior to the SOTU. So the Republican response had to be written in the dark and that’s why it came across a bit disconnected from the actual SOTU speech. That said, I love the quote here in the article.
I am limited in travel due to cost of gasoline and I need to travel for my job. I am having more of my food from food banks than ever. I also buy clothes from Thrift Stores most of the time. I am not sure I can complete some electrical and plumbing in my home due to much higher costs.
O Lord, You placed the stars in the sky. You created a myriad of beautiful life. You gave us our breathe and water to drink. You give us every beat of our hearts. You are a living Lord. You are our Saviour, in whom we trust. Please rescue Lynn from this financial crisis, Come redeem this situation. We ask for Your almighty hand to come and cover her. Give her wisdom and strength to stand strong through this storm. We ask for a miracle by Your redeeming love. Spending our way out of the economic mess that we are in is not the answer. The ONLY thing that it does, is make the situation worse. Printing more money recklessly only weakens the dollar. Of course, Biden doesn’t really care about truly fixing the problem. He was placed in power by the Globalists, and is being controlled by them, to bring about the ruination of our nation. That is why he is all about the reckless spending and just printing more and more money. Lord Jesus, please, either cause this man to change, or remove his Administration from office. The following may offend some but I can live with that. Biden has NO solutions. He isn’t a problem solver – never in his career has he been. He is a follower. That is why he is in the “acting role” of president. He was artificially and illegally placed in the position through various criminal actions. But in the real world, under pressure, Biden disintegrates without his “medication”. Ask anyone who has worked with him – Biden is a follower, not a leader. America had a leader in the prior administration, so people can easily see the difference. Weak followers are easily corrupted and that is why the entire Biden clan is getting 24/7 deep state protection… because the corruption is so lengthy and deep. (Remember that Biden has NEVER held a private sector job). The people behind the scenes continue to pull Joe’s strings and he follows. That’s what weak, corrupt officials do. Their lust & desire for titles or prestige drowns out their conscience. Once they make themselves slaves to corruption, then fear controls their lives & they are easily manipulated. They can’t stand on their own anymore.
So all the ideas for “rescue” from inflation are not from Biden. Those ideas are coming from those that want to steer America into oblivion. The Obama’s, Soros, Gates, numerous progressive idiots who think ideology can govern a nation. In the arena of corrective economics, whether we are talking about personal or national finances, it is virtually “impossible” to spend our way out of debt or into prosperity through unchecked spending. It can’t be done. If we could, America’s debt would be “zero” right now from “previous debt spending sprees”. From a personal & historical standpoint, I’ve used credit cards in my life to purchase things when I didn’t have the income to support it. Guaranteed recipe for failure but thankfully, I learned decades ago not to do that anymore. But those in charge of our nation now want you & I to believe that they can spend us out of debt, through more debt and back to prosperity. (They’re suffering from I am God complex). It’s impossible to do that. It’s up to you and I to let our gov’t officials, regardless of what level of gov’t we are talking about — to live within our means and to cut back. Tell Biden & his group of economic misfit experts NO to more spending. No no no. Don’t be shy – let your reps, regardless of what party they belong to, that you are absolutely opposed to more debt spending in “order to rescue us”. Biden touted in his speech that our economy is good. Well, if it’s good, then why does the government want to spend more of your money through “debt spending” to help us? Remember that for every increase in spending (printing more money), the dollar continues to lose purchasing power and inflation increases. It’s a simple economic rule. And the present administration is dangerous because they don’t want to live within our means and they refuse to live by economic rules.

Prices are getting outrageous. 3lb bag of chicken $9.99, bacon $7.99lb, can of Campbell’s Soup $1.89. During fake President Biden’s speech, he announced things that President Trump had already proposed. Trump pushed for bringing back manufacturing to the US by agreeing with other countries the tax rate. If companies raise wages, then the cost is going to be passed on to the consumer. This is what happens when you pay people to stay at home.
Biden’s policies are directly responsible for this inflation, period. They will gaslight us and tell us otherwise, but we did not have this problem under Trump’s policies because he knew how business worked, and did things that benefited the average American citizen, not the rich elite. It still amazes me when government touts lines like we will get higher wages etc. This is from those who never enter a grocery store or fill their own gas tank. Add housing that in our ‘hood is being over run by corporations. A member of our church, as newlywed, bid on 12 houses before she got one corporations didn’t want.

I agree with the corporations getting all the houses at auctions. We experienced this back in the 80’s. The problem with these corporations buying up these houses is that rent them out but never take care of them. Turns neighborhoods to trash.
When you go to market for groceries lack: so we are always in prayer thanking GOD OF HEAVEN for what we obtain: plus we grow vegetables. Everything has gone up. But we’re thankful for the littlest blessing: wether at the market or in our garden. We still don’t stop giving: because in giving we recieve a blessing from GOD our FATHER and in JESUS YESHUA NAME: the HOLY SPIRIT KADOSH directs our path.
Inflation has increased products so much, that we can no longer live the same lifestyle we had. It has turned things we had thought ordinary into luxuries. Sure, we can live without them, and we are. I can’t imagine how those less fortunate (or blessed by God) than we are, can even make it. Help those of us who can give, to give generously. Thank You God that You care about all this more than I can comprehend. Help us to use this time and crisis for the spreading of Your salvation – to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves. For we know the days are evil. But we also know that light drives out the darkness! Be with us, Your church to do just that!!
