Former Attorney General William Barr emerged from a public hiatus on Thursday, decrying the rise of “militantly secularist government-run schools” and suggesting new curricula steeped in progressive ideology may violate the U.S. Constitution.

In his first speech since leaving office in December, Barr suggested that a new era of school choice vouchers may be parents’ best defense against public school curricula he suggested were anti-religious. . . .
He cited the example of an Iowa public school district’s transgenderism study that declared that “everyone gets to choose if they are a girl, or a boy, or both, or neither, or someone else, and no one else gets to choose for them.” . . .
Barr suggested some of the new woke curricula pushed by the left might infringe religious and speech freedoms and impose a secular theology that violates the Constitution’s Establishment Clause prohibiting government from imposing religious beliefs. . . .
Barr said parents and political leaders should no longer stand idly by as schools fail in producing proficient students, urging them to re-embrace the school choice movement that gained popularity among conservatives and some Democrats in the 1990s.
“The time has come to admit that the approach of giving militantly secularist, government-run schools a monopoly over publicly funded education has become a disaster,” he said. “It has deformed and impoverished the very nature of the educational enterprise, first by purging it of any moral or spiritual dimension, and then by trying to substitute for religion an irreconcilable rival value system.
“Parents wishing to opt out from the government’s secular-progressive madrassas are subject to a harsh penalty in the form of private school tuition that most cannot afford. As a result, our public schools have inevitably become cockpits for a vicious, winner-take-all culture war over the moral formation of our children. . . .

Although I am still deeply disappointed in the former AG’s unwillingness to stand with President Trump and We The People as fiercely as Eric Holder stood with Obama and the Democrats, I am in total agreement with him here. Let us pray for the Lord’s guidance and then BE his hands and feet for our children and generations to come. Get involved in your communities!
I agree with you regarding Bill Barr’s unwillingness to do the right thing with President Trump. However, I pray that he will continue to stand up for the children! Our children need all the help they can get! Parents, grandparents, listen to what is happening to our kids! Speak up, stand up, NOW! People, pushing their ungodly agendas are totally committed, so WE HAD BETTER GET TOTALLY COMMITTED AS WELL, for our children’s, even our nation’s sake!
Lord please allow our children to learn about You and Your ways. Protect them from this evil and raise up leaders who fight for vouchers and raise up godly men and women in education. Amen
I agree 110 percent! This ideology this curriculum is nothing but lies from the pit of Hell being taught in military schools, as well. This sin against our God and our babes , children, youth, and our young adults has to be stopped in Jesus’name before it goes any further. Jesus told us to pray and fast for the hard and difficult things, fervently, effectually , without ceasing and to take back all that the thief, the devil, stole from us, and He said the violent will take the kingdom of God by force. Let’s do just that by decreeing and declaring His word so He can establish His kingdom down here on Earth, praying and fasting without ceasing, in the spirit as well as understanding , praising and worshipping God in spirit and in truth so can set ambushes for the enemy in every camp to destroy his plans and schemes , do all that we can do by signing petitions, standing up boldly for our consciences and convictions, voting in God- fearing, Bible-trembling , God -honoring government officials who refuse to conform themselves to this world, who do not call evil good , who do not call good evil, whom God is ordering their steps, and they know that they are accountable to Almighty God, alone, for making right decisions that please Him, bless and protect all of the lives of the born as well as the unborn , of the American people and will give dignity and honor to every age, race, and creed at every age and stage in life, and will not be bought or influenced by anyone, period. We must value everyone whom God has put in authority over us, be they law enforcers, first responders, military, or civil servants and give them due respect for their offices of authority and daily stand the gap and intercede for their safety , provision, and protection for their households, and insist that these diabolical curriculums be banned from all of our schools and universities. And we need to rise up like it says in our constitution and protect our country from any tyrannical government who dares rise up against God, His Word, and His people called by His name and Israel to do them or our constitution any harm, to replace our republic, with all of its God-given rights, freedoms, and liberties with a New World Order Dictatorship, Church, and
Government. The time is now, this is the hour to stand up and fight and take back all that the dragon, the one who charms and lures us into taking our eyes off of Jesus, the ancient serpent who sets us up for emotional hurts that cause depression, the devil who is nothing but the father of lies, and data who is the accuser of the brethren who moves in to kill everyone Jesus created in God’s very own image and loves. Then after we have done all we can possibly do to ban this curriculum from our schools and to defend our values, convictions, our faith , and our constitution, now we stand still and wait expectantly to see God’s salvation He will bring once He fights this battle for us not by might, not by power but by His Spirit. Amen.
