At least 23 Iranian MPs and the head of Iran’s emergency medical service have reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus, in the latest spike in cases in the Islamic Republic.

According to BBC Persian, the 23 lawmakers, out of the 290-member chamber, may have been infected due to their contact with their constituents across the country, which has reported the highest number of cases outside China, where the virus originated in December.
The head of Iran’s emergency medical services, Pir-Hossein Kolivand, has also been infected with virus, the ILNA news agency reported.
Kolivand’s “health is good and there is no need for concern”, the office said in a statement.
In total, 77 people have died and 2,336 have been infected by the coronavirus, Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Alireza Raisi said in an announcement on state TV on Tuesday.
As the country continues to grapple with the outbreak, several Iranian government officials have tested positive, including an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was the first senior official to die from the virus.
Mohammad Mirmohammadi died on Monday in a Tehran hospital at the age of 71, according to Iranian state radio.
Other government ministers who have fallen ill from the virus include Masoumeh Ebtekar, vice president for women and family affairs and a spokeswoman for the 1979 hostage-takers, and Iraj Harirchi, the deputy health minister tasked with managing Iran’s response to the outbreak.
On Monday, the United Nations sent six medical experts to Iran to aide the Islamic Republic in its fight with the epidemic.
The World Health Organisation said that a flight left Dubai on Monday carrying doctors, epidemiologists, laboratory specialists and medical supplies to “provide guidance on strengthening and scaling up the response to the ongoing outbreak”.

I am confident that as believers we have been given authority by the Spirit’s power living within us to overcome all the power of the enemy, to trample on snakes and scorpions, lions and cobras which manifest themselves as darkness and destruction. We come fearlessly against this Coronavirus and praise God that He has dominion over heaven and earth. Let us not limit the Holy One with unbelief, with ingratitude or by not remembering ALL that He is able to do. Luke 10:19, 20 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Lord Jesus, we do rejoice with thanksgiving for ALL you’ve done and are able to do…and that even when we don’t see You working, we KNOW…You’re still working….Nothing is impossible with You!
I am reminded of the scriptures: “What the devil meant for evil, GOD will work together for good” and “Blessed are those who know their need of GOD.” So, let us pray that the fear of this deadly virus will cause people to know their need of GOD. Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the LORD, HE is my refuge and my fortress; my GOD in Him will I trust. 3 Surely HE shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 HE shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust; His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day: 6 Nor the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at they right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. May GOD add His blessing to the reading of His Word. Amen.
I absolutely believe in praying the scriptures. Praying GOD’s own Word and GOD’s promise that Our Lord Jesus “came to destroy the works of the devil” and I can certainly pray that HE would destroy the works of the devil. However, I cannot find a reference, “to dismantle the spirits behind the virus.”
Dear Lord God Almighty thank You for everything. Thank God that a cure for this virus is coming. May we thank You in advance. May this virus have many people turn towards You and may You Lord call many people unto You. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lord I praise you as Sovereign overall things. I praise You as the Healer, Jehovah Rapha and seek Your will to be done over all those infected in Iran. Lord forgive the sins of this Nation and in your mercy and Grace heal those in need of healing. Lord I pray for opportunities for the Gospel to be shared and many to come to know Jesus Christ. I pray for those treating the sick to be protected and continue to help those in need. Lord Thank You that You do not want any to perish. I pray You will be glorified in this situation.
