I Prayed have prayed
Father, I am weary. Help me trust in You as You tell me I am like the eagle and You sustain me for the battle. Help me to stand on Romans 8:37!
Reading Time: 4 minutes

God interrupted my sleep, speaking four words to my heart, “My people are weary.”

A couple hours later I received confirmation of that word in an email from a friend.  It said, “People are weary, we have to help them.”

It’s true. You can almost feel the weariness across our nation.  We have been in a spiritual battle and it has been a heavy one.  The issues in our nation we have passionately opposed in both prayer and action have not been easy. This has gone on for many months. No wonder we feel weary.

Intercessors across the nations have fought a battle this year, unlike anything we could have ever imagined.  We all recognize the stakes are high.  But although we are weary, we simply can’t quit now.

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31).

The Passion Translation says it like this; He empowers the feeble and infuses the powerless with increasing strength. Even young people faint and get exhausted; athletic ones may stumble and fall. But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their race without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up.

I meditated on those Scriptures as I went to bed Friday night. Hours later, I woke myself up chanting a cheer from my high-school years.  It was something I had not thought about for decades.

“We are the eagles, the mighty mighty eagles, everywhere we go, people wanna know, who we are, so we tell them, we are the eagles the mighty mighty eagles.”

As I thought about the significance of the words, I remembered when we used that particular cheer.

It was the one we pulled out toward the end of the football game, when all the players were beyond weary.  It was when we were close to victory, yet we needed one more score to win the game.  It came at the moment our players felt they had nothing left.

I knew when I awoke, loudly declaring this cheer, it was God providing a strategy to overcome the weariness we all feel—when it seems there is nothing left.

“We are the eagles, the mighty mighty eagles, everywhere we go, people wanna know, who we are, so we tell them, we are the eagles the mighty mighty eagles.”

First, we must remember who we are in Christ!

Here are a few Scriptures to remind us:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13).

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. (1 Pet 2:9).

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Rom 8:37)

We are more than conquerors in Christ, we are partakers with Him.

The Bible says in Hebrews 3:14, “For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.”

It is vital, especially now, in this late hour, that we hold the beginning of our confidence, steadfast to the very end.

Second, we must declare it and remind the enemy of who we are.

Declare is defined as “to make known formally or officially; To reveal or make manifest.”

I believe Romans 8:18-21 in the Passion Translation describes where we are in this hour:

I am convinced that any suffering we endure is less than nothing compared to the magnitude of glory that is about to be unveiled within us. The entire universe is standing on tiptoe, yearning to see the unveiling of God’s glorious sons and daughters! For against its will the universe itself has had to endure the empty futility resulting from the consequences of human sin. But now, with eager expectation, all creation longs for freedom from its slavery to decay and to experience with us the wonderful freedom coming to God’s children.

This is the freedom for which we fight.

I know we are weary and the battle seems to be growing more fierce.  However, it is the end of the game and the reward is in site. We cannot quit now.

I compare this to a woman in labor.  She has carried her baby for nine months, and now it’s time for delivery.  Perhaps delivery has been difficult, yet she must continue to push.  At one point the doctor says, “I see the head, one more big push and we are there.”  That is where I feel we are.  One more big push and we are there.

Like Peter, we have toiled through the darkness of night, yet God is telling us, “Launch out into the deep one more time and bring in the haul.”

Take a deep breath intercessors, you have it in you for one more big push.  It is within you to bring in the haul.  YOU are an eagle, a mighty mighty eagle.  Let us not forget who we are.

This could not have come at a better time for me to have read this article! So today, I read this… and yesterday was the election and I prayed so fiercely, all day yesterday and some during the weeks /months leading up to it, but especially yesterday. I think about 7 different times throughout the day, I was led to pray, praise, speak out, physically and mentally… I rebuked, etc.

But we still don’t know the election results… and today, I was tired! I felt at peace that God heard my prayers and had given me peace about the results, and that HE is in control and sovereign, NOT man! So today, I hadn’t prayed much about it, compared to yesterday’s battle.

But… we must not stop! And even after we get an election answer, I feel we still need to battle evil, demonic influences and render them ineffective! We need to pray justice and integrity and hearts of repentance for this country and the world!! We cannot stop now! We are so close to the rapture! Everyone I have personally talked to feels it is so close too! We need to not waste this precious little time that we have left! We need to continue praying without ceasing!

Amen!!

I’m up reading this now because I was awakened by spiritual warfare. Specifically, witchcraft. It’s strong in the atmosphere!!! The way I sense it is I’m nauseous.

What’s been extremely encouraging to me is the way that the Lord has taught me to FIGHT in this season!!! One evening when a demonic attack hit me… it felt like what I can imagine a panic attack feels like—Yet I’ve never had a panic attack. It was extremely intense and wouldn’t break! I was praying and the Lord said, “Take Communion.”
Immediately after taking the Cup—symbolically representing the Living Blood of Jesus. The demonic attack was No More!!! Praise be to my Redeemer Jesus Christ!!!

Thank you Father for sending your Son Jesus to be our everything in this hour! Jesus lives and the Battle He’s WON! May we walkout our faith knowing that we’re Victorious!! I pray for my fellow Saints. Increase our faith and our resolve. In Jesus’ mighty name I ask. Amen.

Kim, this is such an encouraging word for this time. Let me share the words of Isaiah 28:5-6.

In that day the Lord Almighty
Will be a glorious crown, a beautiful wreath for the remnant of His people
Will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment
Will be a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

Are we not living in that day?

Becky Wilcox, I am grateful to hear that that someone is praying that the Lord would keep me strong and on the right path. My thoughts often become divided between different topics (not necessarily bad things, just not the most important use of time). I need to stay focused where God leads me. Thank you!

Mary as do I where news is concerned. I find conservative news that way I know how to proceed. It is a sad day when the msm doggedly bash this administration. And what’s even sadder is folk believe the lies; even Christian’s. One Christian lady said she watches cnn 24/7 & she despises President Trump. I look to the whatsoever scripture, lovely, true, honest & of good report. We live in a fallen world, and God said we will have tribulation but behold, I have overcome the World🌎Amen!

For the last 3 days and nights I have been singing “I’m going to see a victory, I’m going to see a victory, for the battle belongs to you Lord.” Last night watching ACB being sworn in as Supreme Court Justice was a victory! I just couldn’t help but praise the Lord for that is one battle won. Then as I looked at President Trump standing beside Judge Barrett, I began to see what God is doing and I caught a glimpse of how righteousness does exalt a nation. I suddenly was overwhelmed with joy and praise for God’s faithfulness to His word. If My people…. Seeing this one victory was so encouraging to me. Even though I know there are many battles ahead and the war is not over, seeing His faithfulness in each victory won inspires me to continue on and brings “joy in the Lord” and strength to my spirit, soul, and body! Our God is so big! There are more victories coming! We must allow Holy Spirit to help us look beyond what we see to that which He desires us to be and rejoice in what is to be! Blessings to all who are carrying and distributing His seeds.

Love it!!! Very good, good insights and understanding! Yes, if God is for us, then who can be against us? And He is, He proved it at the cross (Romans 5:8), where the iniquity of us all was laid on Him (Isaiah 53:6), where He paid the debt He didn’t owe because we all owed a debt we could not pay, to give us life with Him forever!!!! Yes, I loved the recent article about the eagles and the crows pecking at and attacking the eagles, and like the eagles, as we wait on the Lord, then we are able to rise up with wings like eagles, and soar as our strength is renewed, and the crows cannot breathe up there, and fall off. Thank you and God bless you!!! May He continue to flood your soul with light and give you understanding of these times that we are living in and the wisdom to know what to do!!

This is a truly a most encouraging word from the Lord! I’m so grateful for intercession who when awakened in the night by a loving Father, saying it’s time to pray and instead of arguing, I’m too tired, they get quite and hear His voice and pray, and the outcome is me waking up on my own, going to my phone and reading what that person has written for my/our encouragement! Thank you Almighty God for the servant you chose to share this timely message .

I, like Carol, did not consider myself an intercessor. But I was drawn to pray for the President and my country. I prayed to the Holy Spirit that if I was going to be an intercessor, than He would have to teach me. And He has! He has shown me so many scriptures that I could pray. And reading the comments shows me that the Lord is leading other people in the same way. That is encouraging. Every day seems to be different, depends on how I am led. Thank you, Kim, for this article. I am getting weary of this election season. I don’t listen to the news as much now. Just enough to stay informed and on conservative news channels. I FA helps me a lot.

If you have time, can you plz post some of how you are praying? I am just learning how to pray for our country. In the past, I’ve prayed for different things but not our country. A Christian friend introduced me recently to IFA as I was so devastated over our country’s brokenness. This site has grown on me and now I love it. I pray out loud prayers that people post or their replies. It is teaching me how to pray for our country. Thank you so much. God bless.

        Hi Susan,

A quick tip, ask the Holy Spirit to show you scriptures to pray. I have found so many scriptures that I can pray, like Isaiah 59, Psalm 91, Isaiah 54:17, 55:6-13, Psalm 64. I use the prayer guides and go off from there. The Holy Spirit will lead you.

Thank You, Lord, for encouragement from other believers who are reminding us to finish well. We are running to win. We ask You to help each one of us fulfill Your destiny You had in mind for our lives. I pray for righteous leaders to fill the Senate and the House. Let Your righteousness be seen in Washington D.C. like never before. Save the men and women in media and the entertainment industry. Lord, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let President Trump continue to lead America and may our country be a blessing to the world. God, we thank You for Your mercy and Your power and Your Love. We look to You for wisdom and guidance today. Deliver us from evil and continue to expose the hidden works of darkness. In Your name, we break the power of them over our nation and the people. May Your Truth shine brightly from all who call upon Your name. In the name of Jesus and the power of His blood shed for us on the cross, Amen.

During these often tumultuous times, it is important to remember that God is our great Leader, and we should pray that His hand is in the election and that the candidate meant for the job is ultimately elected. Father, An election is a sensitive matter in our nation and we need your intervention. I ask you to make the elections process smooth. Let everything go as planned; starting with the delivery of the ballot papers to the counting of the votes, and the final announcement of the winners. Go before us and level down mountains. I pray that you may scatter any plans set by the devil to disrupt the election process. Let your will be done.

Almighty Father, I bow before you asking for your help during this time of the elections. This is a period of terror, bloodshed, and confusion. Deliver us, Lord, from the fears of elections. Make the election process flow as desired and shame the devil by sabotaging his plans. Let the electoral body adhere to all the rules required of it and let it be just so that it may produce credible results. You are the God of justice.

King of kings, I come before you ask for your help. I am here on behalf of our country as we approach the election period. Give us your wisdom to elect leaders who will stand for us and who will lead by example. Guide us as we make our decisions. Open our eyes to see what’s good for us as a nation. Protect us from those who want leadership for selfish reasons like for power and financial gain at the expense of developing the nation. Give us leaders who fear you.

Watch over our nation during the election time. Protect us from the schemes of the devil to disrupt peace and bring violence amongst ourselves. Cover us with the mighty blood of your son, Jesus that no harm can get to us. Let the leaders we choose prioritize our safety as citizens and aspire to rule in a way that’s pleasing to you. Let your Holy Spirit guide us in our decision making. And lastly Our Heavenly King, I ask for your protection at this time of the election. Protect us from any harm which may result from the chaos of unexpected results. Let all the polling stations be safe and may the police do their work perfectly by maintaining order in the stations. Protect the candidates and their families that they may not be targets of assault. Let all the people finish the voting process and go back to their homes and wait for the results. We rely on your peace. In your Glory and Powerful Name I Pray…..Amen, Amen and Amen…

Thank you for this post! I did not think that I could call myself an “Intercessor” as I have always believed that it is a calling. I know though, since I am so deeply concerned for this Nation, this President and his family, I prayed and prayed since the beginning even before his first term began. I noticed that as I prayed for him and the Country, my prayer became stronger, praying with tears and groanings, coming against the evil intent of the enemy and also for those the enemy is using! Because of this, I guess now my belief on Intercession is changing. I see that possibly the Lord will use anyone of us to intercede in prayer when the need is there and the need now is great but I am not 100% sure if this is true as I am going on 74 years old and have never really prayed like this before. I must say that I did and do have a desire to pray and intercede for this nation and Administration. I ask for prayer from anyone who will be reading this as I need to know if I am interceding the way I should, if that makes any sense! I get the feeling sometimes that if I wasn’t called by God I should not be doing it and it is not the Lord calling me to do it. As far as being weary is concerned, I have been extremely “weary” since this battle has been going on for so long and listening to the lies and twisting of the truth has been overwhelming. To combat this a little, I have stopped watching the news. I get the highlights from you tube and listen to what I have to listen to to stay informed! This helps me so it may help someone. The enemy wants to weary us hoping that we will give up but we will not. We will outlast him because we have the Lord on our side! God Bless you all and God Bless the United States of America and our President Donald J Trump!

I love this reply! I would not have called myself an intercessor either – but here we are. I now believe we are all called to pray and intercede – and God will use whomever is willing to pray and stand in faith. What you are doing for our nation is awesome – thank you for praying and interceding – we are strong together. God is hearing our prayers and responding… I believe that with all my heart

Hi Carol, I have just really got back into full gear of intercession, because I felt a great urgency and seriousness of the hour. I have learned so much from IFA. Last year I asked the Holy Spirit to enroll me in His School. Now I feel like I am part of the Army of the LORD! We all have a part of the battle plan to execute. I am praying to be able to “Redeem the Time, for the days are evil” Will you, Dear Sue, pray for me if you remember to be able to get back to the place where I will serve Him and as you have said gain His Wisdom and encouragement. Prayer of Intercession “Heavenly Father, Glorify Your name through me and all Your people today (I Corinthians 10:31). Please enable us to advance Your kingdom today as You supply our need (Matthew 6:31-33). Please raise up all Your people to seek to be intercessors in prayer like Your son Jesus Christ as He sits at Your right hand (Col. 3:1-4) interceding in prayer for Your people (John 17:6-10; Romans 8:34). Please cause the Holy Spirit to burden us to:

–have the anointing to pray more intensely for Your chosen people throughout the world in every language group (Romans 12:10-13),
–give more to church mission outreach whether by: Bible and Christian literature publishing and distribution, radio and television teaching and preaching, and internet outreach, etc., etc.,
–be witnesses and go out and seek the lost both near and far even to the ends of the earth (Mark 16:15-16; Luke 19:10; Acts 1:8).

Lord, help us to see the harvest of souls that need to be brought in (Matthew 9:37-38) and to be kingdom builders as we put feet to our prayers by ministering, giving more, and going out to seek the lost at any cost (Proverbs 11:30; Luke 15:1-10).”
In Jesus Christ’s name (John 16:23-24).” “Amen.”

I was feeling fatigue and fear about the election as evil seemed to keep increasing. Sunday I watched Sean Feucht’s Let Us Worship prayer event on the Mall in DC and was greatly encouraged. Thousands of believers in DC and online were also praying and worshipping. Justice Barrett’s confirmation is a gift from God for our nation. It is a great honor to be heard before the throne of God as we intercede. Praise be to His Name!! My high school had the same eagle cheer. Thank you so much for this article!

I’m so glad you watched the Let Us Worship event. I was at the event and I can tell you that the Holy Spirit was very evident and the power of God was there! It was like praying, praising and doing warfare all at the same time – hard to explain but very powerful! Even when we were outside the Supreme Court that morning worshipping, we gave a mighty roar – demanding the demons to flee and pleading with God to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Malachi 4:1-2. For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all the evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them on fire, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. ( Here are our marching orders) And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on that day when I act, says the Lord of hosts. Thank you Lord for refreshing us in Your word! Thank you for the eminent victory
You have ordained! We will forge ahead, we will not give up, the battle is truly the Lord’s.
