Despite New York City’s Marxist Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s campaign promise to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as soon as he landed, the Prime Minister successfully spoke at the United Nations on September 24.

Mayor Mamdani based his threat on an “arrest warrant” for Prime Minister Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for “crimes against humanity,” but he later acknowledged he lacked the authority to carry out his promise.

President Donald Trump denounced the ICC at the UN two days before Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke. The ICC has a cooperative relationship with the UN.

As with the ICC, many see evidence of anti-Semitism in the UN, which is troubling given their aspirations for global governance.

Rev. Dr. Jim and Rosemary Schindler Garlow hosted a United Nations Summit on September 17 and 18, the week before the General Assembly began. They addressed — among other issues — anti-Semitism in the UN. Stefano Gennarini, Vice President of Legal Studies at the Center for Family and Human Rights, told global leaders from 15 nations that the UN used to shut down any talk of global governance, but that’s no longer happening. More and more, they see themselves as leaders of a one-world government.

President Trump took issue with that aspiration: “There is no global government.”

Is prophecy being fulfilled?

Zechariah 12:3 states:

…it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.

When Prime Minister Netanyahu stepped onto the stage, nearly half of the delegates walked out before he began speaking.

Praise the Lord that “all the nations of the earth” are not yet gathered against His Chosen Ones. Many who remained cheered, clapped, and chanted “Am Israel Chai!” That’s Hebrew for “The People of Israel live.”

After the walkout, Prime Minister Netanyahu said — with a grin — “Before I begin, just a quick announcement: If there are any other moral cowards who haven’t yet left this hall, please do so now.”

Then he included the protestors outside the UN, whom Mayor Mamdani had encouraged to gather:

To the protesters outside, to the hypocritical delegates who left this hall. I ask, “Where were you when the Iranian tyrants butchered and maimed tens of thousands of unarmed Iranian civilians? When they butchered and maimed thousands of their own people? Where were you? Did you organize mass rallies, hunger strikes? Did you protest outside the Iranian mission to the UN? Did you speak out, for that matter, for Christians persecuted in Iran and throughout the Middle East?” No. No, you didn’t, because you’re phony human rights protesters.

The protesters outside — ironically — called Netanyahu a Nazi, but when a man sporting a Hitler mustache and SS pin on his coat tried to join them, FreedomNews.tv reported that he was shooed away.

Though the protesters may not like the comparison, Jonathan Cahn has exposed the collaboration between Nazis and Muslims going back to the 1920s.

Six groups also organized a pro-Israel rally.

Prime Minister Netanyahu clarified what the dispute over Israel is really about: “We [are] a tiny sliver of land … equal to about 1/3 of 1% of the land mass of the entire Arab world. Yet they accuse Israel, tiny Israel, of colonialism.” He said this conflict is “about the existence of a Jewish state.”

He debunked the lie that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza:

I want to ask you some questions: What genocidal regime gives a million polio vaccinations to the enemy’s population? What genocidal regime enables two million tons of food distribution into Gaza? That’s a ton for every person. Accusing Israel of genocide is the greatest lie of the century.

He backed that up, quoting Colonel John Spencer, head of urban warfare studies at West Point: “Israel has done more to prevent civilian casualties in war than any other military in history.”

Then he spoke directly to Mayor Mamdani:

Mr. Mamdani, you tried to stop me from coming here. You tried to silence me. Well, you can’t silence me. You can’t silence the truth. And here’s the simple truth: Israel didn’t commit genocide. Israel prevented genocide, and that’s exactly what Mr. Mamdani’s Hamas buddies would have done to us, had we not stopped them. They would have killed every last one of us. The lies you and other anti-Semites spread about the Jews, and the Jewish state, have real consequences. In New York, Jews are threatened on the way to synagogue. Jews have been stabbed in the streets.

The UN hasn’t always stood against Israel.

In 1947, the UN General Assembly recommended the creation of the modern nation of Israel.

The Raoul Wallenberg Memorial greets people as they approach the entrance to the UN. It tells how he, “with extraordinary courage and with total disregard for the constant danger to himself, saved the lives of almost one hundred thousand men, women, and children.”

An abandoned briefcase with the initials RW is a part of the memorial, representing how the Swedish diplomat was disappeared to a gulag, leaving unfinished work.

The work is unfinished even in the UN. In his farewell address to the UN Security Council in 2016, Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon chose to denounce “bias against Israel within United Nations bodies.”

And when I toured the UN two months after the October 7 atrocities, a young Jewish woman in the group asked our guide if the UN had denounced what happened on that day.

Last Thursday, Prime Minister Netanyahu described “the darkest day in Israel’s history”:

These Hamas monsters, they slaughtered Holocaust survivors. They burned babies alive in front of their parents. They beheaded our men. They brutally raped our women, and then they murdered them. Altogether, they slaughtered 1,200 Israelis that day.

Proportionately, he pointed out, that “is equal to 40,000 innocent Americans slaughtered in less than 24 hours. That’s 16 times 9/11.”

President Trump told the UN — including the Iranian Delegate — “Iran’s supreme leader celebrated that massacre and called it a service to humanity.”

I, too, was curious if the UN had condemned those acts! The answer our guide gave was, “No.” The Jewish woman was visibly upset. Sadly, the UN General Assembly has never condemned the barbaric acts of that day and voted down a resolution that would have done so 88–55, with 23 abstentions.

On September 23, Argentine President Javier Milei rebuked the General Assembly:

The alleged defenders of human rights have sheltered bloodthirsty dictatorships and regimes that stone women in the streets. They have systematically voted against Israel while remaining silent in the face of Islamic terrorism and the genocide of Christians in Africa.

What can be done?

The J7 Large Communities’ Task Force Against Antisemitism, which is made up of “the seven countries with the largest Jewish diaspora populations in the world,” issued a statement on September 22, encouraging UN members to vote for a new Secretary-General who will not put up with anti-Semitic attitudes, citing a 136% rise in attacks on Jewish people since October 7.

The statement pointed out:

Antisemitism — expressed through the conduct of mandate holders, in materials produced under the UN’s emblem, and in a culture permitted to take hold in parts of the human rights system — is, however, among its serious failures. It damages the institution’s credibility and undermines its standing to lead on human rights globally.

At the Garlows’ UN Summit, several of the speakers addressed anti-Semitism at the UN. Rev. Dr. Garlow gave a talk entitled “Exposing Antisemitism: A History of the Suffering of the Jewish People,” and Mrs. Schindler Garlow (a relative of Oskar Schindler and CEO of Schindler’s Ark) spoke on “Why We Must Stand with Israel.”

The Garlows presented Ellie Cohanim, Senior Policy Advisor to the U.S. Mission to the UN and former Deputy Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, and Eyal David, Deputy Consul General of the Israeli Mission to the UN, both with statues of Haym Salomon, the Jewish financier Rev. Dr. Garlow talked about at IFA’s Rededicate America. Mr. Salomon financed the Continental Congress and Continental Army.

Bill Barker, President of Southern Wesleyan University, shared his perspective on combating anti-Semitism from his experience on their campus in South Carolina.

Lord, we begin with thanksgiving for Israel and the JEWISH COMMUNITY. There is so much we would not have in the spiritual realm and the physical without the Jewish People. Thank You that You bless every nation through Israel. Help us to remember always that Jesus was born Jewish, and that You love the Jewish people. We therefore decree that hatred of Jewish people is a demonic stronghold leading those who hate into an area of darkness.  We bind that spirit of darkness in the UN. Lord, we pray Your protection for the Jewish people in every decision made at the UN, in Jesus’ name.
