Trump announced on Truth Social that he said he got a “target letter” Sunday night in which Smith’s office offered him the opportunity to appear before the grand jury this week. The development indicates another indictment could be on the way …

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump wrote on the social media platform. …

The Washington grand jury is believed to be looking into Trump’s conduct in the time between the 2020 election and Jan. 6, 2021. …

Smith is believed to be focused on Trump’s efforts to block certification of electoral votes and not the speech he gave at the Ellipse just before the riot broke out at the Capitol. …

Cheating at golf may be easy, especially if you own the course, but if you wish to carry off major crime, and trying to overturn an election is just that, you need a certain amount of nous or the indictments will start to pile up

Do we really want ‘justice’? In bringing up the subject of classified documents, you need to take into account that Donald Trump had in his possession many more secret and top-secret documents than Jack Teixeira had access to, So, if ‘even’ justice is dispensed, the penalty for the mishandling of that many classified documents might be decades in prison or the death penalty. Won’t this be decisive for the country and make it difficult for former presidents to have the clearance necessary so that they can be consulted over on-going crises?

Lord, let there be a ‘wise’ dispensation of justice in this country!

A president has the absolute authority to declassify a document. He said he declassified them before he left office. Biden took classified documents when he was senator and when he was vice president. He did not have an absolute authority at that time to declassify documents.

That is not true. Only the organization which issues a classified document has the authority to declassify it. So, only the military can declassify a military document. That is so much truer about classified documents belonging to our allies. An American president does not have the authority to declassify a foreign country’s classified documents, and we were told that they were among Donald Trump’s collection of documents. (Just because Donald Trump makes a claim does not mean that the claim is true. And, by the way, he clearly said on his tape that he had not declassified the document pertaining to an attack on Iran.)

You are right about foreign documents. However, as commander in chief, he is in charge of the military and can declassfy their documents. As president, he is the chief executive of the executive branch of the United States and can declassify documents. If Trump is on trial, Biden and all other living Presidents should be on trial because they have done a lot more as well as Sandy Berger who carried away classified documents in his underwear. Are you a Democrat?

You are bypassing an essential question: just because someone who is irresponsible can declassify a document, should it be declassified?

Do you really believe everything that Garland tells you? If a foreign government releases a document to the president, what are the stipulations of that release? If that country’s laws where broken, it seems like that would be their concern.

The declassification by a president of classified documents which contain current information is something that has never occurred, and even didn’t occur under Donald Trump who clearly said in his tape that he had not declassified the Irain attack plan. The traditional understanding of how you declassify documents is that they are only declassified by the agency that classified it unless the information is over 50 years old.

I am a Republican and have been for decades.

Some of Donald Trump’s legal problems are self-generated.

The indictment over the classified documents is an example of a self-generated legal problem. If Donald Trump unintentionally left the White House with classified documents, in the months after he left office, he had an opportunity to return them. And certainly, when the DOJ connected him and asked for their return, he had yet another opportunity. But because he moved boxes of documents after they contacted him the first time about searching for them and his tape revealed that he was showing them to people without clearance, he left them no choice but to conduct another unannounced raid.

His claim on the tape that he was showing them because he wanted to discredit General Milley’s ‘concern’ is another example of his lack of common sense. Please notice, General Milley did not actually accuse President Trump of launching an attack. He expressed a ‘concern’. There is a difference. Concerns are easily dealt with by addressing them head-on. Any leader can cancel a ‘concern’ by merely stating that ‘he would never consider, under the present conditions, of doing ‘such’ and ‘such’.

In the case of being accused of Russian collusion, he was unfairly charged. In the case of the classified documents, he created his own problem.

Donald Trump is, however, a national leader and has brought many problems to the forefront. so, we need to pray for him.

Lord, please give Donald Trump clarity of thought. Please help him understand how to lead.
