A Los Angeles news station went viral after its news anchor characterized theĀ anti-ICE riotsĀ as “just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn” on Sunday.
During live coverage of the downtown LA riots, ABC7 anchor Jory Rand cautioned against deploying law enforcement to avoid escalation. His comments, alongside reporter Tim Caputoās hesitancy to call the event a āriot,ā went viral after being shared online by the account Libs of TikTok. Many viewers were outraged at what they saw as media downplaying lawlessness.
The demonstrations began after ICE arrested gang members and sex offenders who were illegal immigrants to the United States. What started as a protest quickly turned violentāvehicles were set on fire, projectiles thrown at officers, and the LAPD headquarters vandalized. Though only a portion of the crowd participated in violence, the chaos was visible and alarming. Despite this, both Rand and Caputo continually emphasized that the crowd was mostly peaceful and not representative of the destruction.
As Christians, this challenges us to pursue truth and discernment in what we consume – from ABC7, from FOX, or any other entity. It also reminds us to intercede in prayer: for public safety, wise leadership, honest journalism, and the restoration of peace and justice in our communities. When truth is blurred, prayer becomes essential.

The media lies about the situation of the riots. The problem is obvious . If these riots were peaceful protests , what is the reason for the protests? Why is there pallets of cinder block in a peaceful protest. The cinder block is being used to break up curbs and sidewalks, The fragments of the cement is being used to harm ICE Officers and the Policemen. Wake up this is not a peaceful protest . These protests are planned and the participants are being paid to disrupt the cities where they are being demonstrated ,These protests are against the American Voters who voted Donald Trump as President of The United States. YHVH, please increase the platform and support for those who report honestly and factually – give them supernatural megaphones! Expose those who do not, and open the eyes of our populace to their duplicity and wickedness. Heavenly Father,
I come before you today asking for peace and safety for our nation. I pray for our national guard members and police officers who are facing violence from certain individuals. I pray you touch those who are lawless and evil. Holy Spirit, you are the most merciful, loving and powerful. I pray that you end this violence towards our men and women who chose to uphold the laws of the U.S. and protect our people against crimes.
Lord, some people are lost and they are violent. Keep our country strong and secure our borders from people who wish to destroy us.

I think that the media in this nation isn’t about the business of providing non-biased, factual information; rather, they sensationalize events for the sake of ratings- that is how they make money. Someone is financing those protestors. Soros, Bloomberg, etc.? Both the financiers and the protestors belong in jail. Nowhere else. 60 years ago, law enforcement with dogs, billy clubs, fleets of buses, etc. would enclose those mobs and load all the participants on the buses for their ride to jail. Club a protestor these days and get sued. The legal profession has gone straight to hell.
You are correct. There has been a shift in the manner by which the media communicates with us. A shift from fact-based journalism to narrative based, story-telling. Truth is a must with fact-based reporting. With narratives, opinion rules the day. Truth? Not so much.
How quickly we forget 2020, where cities across America burned … while mainstream also refused to call the evil in the streets lawlessness, and at least one governor sheltered in his mansion as one city in his state burned for 3 days before activating the National guard. This is completely unacceptable. President Trump was right in sending in the troops. LA burned because of arson fires while the mayor and governor did little to nothing. So many thoughts, but one of them is, part of āhaving funā is cleaning up the mess. Who is cleaning up the burning cars, and paying for their damage? Also, was permission given to burn these cars? Were they theirs to burn? I am praying those involved will have jobs to occupy their time. Most importantly, for salvation for them. I donāt know any of them, but the Lord does.
I believe we have Hamas in our land. These people are here because of the Biden administration. They are not concern about anything but to invade America. The people that does cannot discern are being lied to and because of this, the church needs to speak the Truth so that the unbeliever will be aware of what is happening to them. Oh, Sharon, if only “these people are here because of the Biden administration” then there would be far fewer- they have been entering our nation for decades now – some legally. Especially give Tom Homan and every ICE official, and all those in authority, calm and clear words to detail their efforts to restore right; to restore law and order. Confound the ways of the wicked.
