Yesterday, the Senate failed a 13th vote to fund the government. However, according to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, the end may finally be coming soon.

“I think they’ve picked up,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune told POLITICO about the rank-and-file bipartisan talks. “Deadlines have a way of doing that.”
Several of Thune’s senators, plus Speaker Mike Johnson and other House GOP leaders, appear increasingly convinced that enough centrist Democrats are getting ready to fold — potentially by early next week.
The looming cutoff of food benefits, air travel delays and a new statement from the largest union of federal employees calling on lawmakers to end the shutdown are bearing down, they believe.
Over the past month, Democrats have remained steadfast in their opposition to Republicans, pushing for Obamacare tax credits to be added to any funding resolution. However, as federal workers continue to go without pay and federal benefits start to dry up, the more liberal members of Congress may soon change their tune.
POLITICO does note, however, that Democrats have not publicly signaled a willingness to compromise. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer recently told the press that he was optimistic Republicans would compromise in November.
Meanwhile, anticipating an end to the shutdown, Republicans are having internal discussions over how long a stopgap bill should last. Current options for the next funding deadline include January or March. Senator Thune has said any bill that would expire before the end of the year is out of the question. And the White House, meanwhile, is hoping to push the next budget deadline all the way through December 2026.

Heavenly Father I praise & exalt You alone. Lord I pray You give them new hearts and touch their minds. Lord I pray for their salvation, they are Your creation & I know You love them. I am praying for the Lord to supply a righteous mind to the representatives opposing to end the shutdown and end it before this weekend so air controllers can continue working normally and not under anxiety. Praying for airport personnel.
Father your word says in Isaiah 40:30 that we are to wait upon the LORD and you shall renew our strength. we run to YOU in the middle of the storm that is raging in our government over excessive spending and spending on things tat YOU have control over, (ex. how to control the weather) Sending moneys to other countries billions and trillions to support others, while our own country is in debt of over trillions and trillions of dollars. It so sounds like we have no way out unless we call upon the Name of the LORD MOST HIGH who created all thing for HIS glory not to satisfy the RICH. Father You are able to change the hearts of those in charge, and I believe that YOU have the Last say in our government. Father we are being destroyed as a nation by those who govern us, WE YOUR people need yoour wisdom, Holy Spirit power, and hearing ears to Hear what You are saying to us. This is such a STUPID game that the Dems are playing in D.C. Lord Jesus, by Your great grace, mat this government “shutdown” end quickly. Please guide and direct our leaders in the federal government in bringing this nonsense to an end quickly. Thank You Jesus.

Since the vast majority of government workers live in Virginia. the shutdown is probably to push
uninformed voters to run to the Democrats.for help.

She can never lack. I remember my church about 1946 when I was 13. They were not intellectuals but somehow they had sent help to German people, probably German brethren. My elders had received a thankyou letter but couldn:t read German. I would like to say that that church never lacked themselves but I leave that with God. They sent me out to evangelise Japan!
