Amid Rising Political Violence, Crockett Defends Nazi Comparisons
As political violence is on the rise in America, Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett addressed “fascist” and “Hitler” comparisons in a recent interview. Speaking to CNN, she said that those who blame the rising tide of violence on such comparisons are “absolutely wrong.”
Pray for your fellow intercessor.
From Fox News:
“So, I‘d like to ask you to respond to critics who have pointed the finger at Democrats, who have used phrases like ‘fascist’ or ‘Hitler,’ made comparisons to those things over time. Do you think that that‘s contributed to this, or are those critics wrong?” CNN host Kasie Hunt asked Crockett during her show, “The Arena.”
“They‘re absolutely wrong,” Crockett said. “Here’s the reality: They don’t want American people to know any forms of history. We know that there was news out today about the president going after yet more historical information.
…
“It seems like violence is OK if it is only because the man that is currently serving in the White House asked for it. Even when we look at ICE officers and what they are doing to those that are accused of violating our law, that is what they think violence is OK for. But then when it ends up happening, and it comes back on the other side, they claim that it’s because of the Democrats and them using words like fascist,” Crockett added.
Crockett has previously referred to the President as a “wannabe Hitler,” defending the comparison in an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” last week. She has also referred to President Trump as “Temu Hitler” and an “enemy of the United States,” according to Fox.
This discussion about political violence comes as many are mourning the loss of Charlie Kirk, a Christian and conservative commentator who was assassinated on September 10. Kirk was assassinated by a young man who appears to have been radicalized by online left-wing extremism. And Fox notes that, ever since the first assassination attempt on President Trump last July, many on the right have accused the left’s labels of “Nazi,” “fascist,” and “Hitler” of contributing to political violence.
Not every liberal and Democrat is sold on using these sorts of personal attacks, however. Senator John Fetterman, the target of many intercessors’ prayers, urged his fellow Democrats to stop calling the President “Hitler” in a recent CNN interview. Following the Kirk shooting, the Senator stressed the need to “turn the temperature down,” telling other lawmakers not to “compare people to these kinds of figures in history.”
As political violence continues in our nation, we have to pray. Let’s intercede on behalf of our leaders and pray for an end to violence and demonization!
