Heavenly Father, You are the great Comforter! Please comfort those who find themselves being persecuted for Your namesake! Give them a way of escape.

The U.S.’ religious freedom ambassador Sam Brownback made an impassioned plea to people of faith on Tuesday to fight for their liberties and those of others suffering for their faith worldwide.

He was speaking at the State Department’s Second Annual Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, which has brought around 1,000 leaders from religious and civic groups to Washington DC this week.

Brownback called on them to be a part of a new “global grassroots movement” to advance religious liberty as he said that the “iron curtain” of persecution needed to “come down now”, the Catholic News Agency reports.

“We need your activism. We need your passion. We need you to boldly fight for religious freedom,” he told them. “As united we do stand, divided we fall – and often we fall in catastrophic, and sometimes even genocidal, ways.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also present at the summit and echoed the call from Brownback by asking those in attendance to get the ball rolling by forming “religious freedom roundtables” in their own countries.

“All people must be permitted to practise their faith openly,” he said…. (Excerpted from Christian Today article by Christian Today Staff)

  1. Father GOD I agree with all the above prayers and stand with our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church. Bless and strengthen them with Holy boldness and may the truth of the Gospel go forth.
Thankyou for all who are standing for. religious freedom world wide. LORD let not take our freedom but continue to be a light to the world
    Thankyou in JESUS name amen

  2. Lord thank You for everything. Thank You for being the Light of the world. May Your Light shine on throughout the world. May the leaders who came to this meeting go back to their countries and push for freedom to practice their faith and may that faith be faith in You Heavenly Father. Give strength to those who follow You. Spoil the plans of those who live in darkness and try to harm Your faithful. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

  3. I love this!!! Yes, unfortunately, the American church, including myself, have been satisfied to simply go to church and have a blessed life, while our brothers and sisters around the world suffer. Now that it is beginning to affect us, although in small ways, we are realizing we have taken our freedom for granted. The American church is still the largest and most powerful force on earth. We must be salt and light in the world!
I thank God for Voice of the Martyrs and the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) who have been fighting against religious persecution for decades. Lord, strengthen and increase them for your glory!

    1. Amen and Amen! Let Thy Kingdom come and let Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Deliver Your people from evil and the evil one. Give us this day our daily bread to feed our hearts and minds that we become more like You and less like the world. In Jesus’ Mighty Name I pray. Amen

  4. Dear Father,
I pray for those who are in a place of persecution. You call them Blessed. Send Your angels to comfort them as You did with Your Son. Strengthen them to stand in this time of suffering & let it be an opportunity to draw others to You. Even those who are persecuting them that they may come to know You too & become part of the Circle of Life. Holy Spirit speak softly yet powerfully to their hearts that they will KNOW they are not alone.
Amen So Be it as you prayed according to His will.
