I Prayed have prayed
Father, we want you to have Your way with us. We sense you are doing something collectively in the hearts of your children--help us to freely allow you to do what You need to prepare us.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

A word from an IFA intercessor–can you identify with this word she received?

I had just finished washing my hands, and I went into my room to spend time with the Lord. I was sitting quietly, focusing on God when he spoke and said, “People are really focusing on outer cleanliness, but I’m looking on the inside.”

I stopped to think on that and then I found what He was sharing with me in the Bible. (Matt 23:25 & Luke 11:39)

What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!

Jesus offended the Pharisees by not performing the “ritual hand washing” and Jesus rebuked them.

That brought me to what is happening right now–it’s all about outer cleanliness in our nation. So much so, you can’t find basic cleaning supplies like Lysol and Clorox. People are focusing on being clean and that’s good, but we must remember that God looks deeper. A parallel to what was happening with the Pharisees. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their greed, and the way they treated others–especially the poor.

I felt like God is calling us to examine ourselves and REPENT and let Him reveal where we need that inner cleaning. I know He is for me. When I say repent, I don’t mean condemnation, because they’re two different things. Condemnation separates people from God, but true repentance creates brokenness and humility and brings refreshing when we need it. The fruit of repentance draws us closer to God, not away. I went through my journal and as I was rereading many of my dreams, I saw a familiar theme. “Cleaning house” dreams about myself and my home and even recent dreams about the Church, where we were remodeling the inside and cleaning the church. I believe the “reset, the pause, the waiting” is a time of preparation for what comes next. This isn’t wasted time, we are preparing and waiting on God because he is redeeming the time.

Can you identify with the word that Gloria received?  We have received calls, emails, and comments with similar themes–prepare yourselves, purify yourselves. We sense that He is readying His Church for what comes next.  This hour is critical for us as we are all paused–let’s make the most of this time for God’s purposes. This is an “ontime” word to the sleeping Christians in the American church world. We have to awaken to more than comfort and begin the life of sacrifice and self denial.

Heavenly Father, in Jesus Name, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, it is so good to be here at my computer talking to you via the internet. Thank You for the internet. In a fallen world technology can be used for evil, but I am grateful, Lord, for the “Good” that you work for your people and Church through this medium. Christians know while we are on “this side of eternity” we battle our selfish nature. I sin even when I want so badly to be “clean” inwardly, as well as, outwardly. Personally, I start my day with King David’s prayer, “Create in me a clean heart…renew a right spirit within me”. I plead His precious blood to cleanse me. Then, I trust
He has done all the work, and I am ready to begin another day in His service and service to others. I know it won’t be perfect service, as I am not yet perfect, but Jesus’ perfection will accomplish His purpose through me as He wills. I may experience disappointment, frustration, doubt during my day, but I trust His Word knowing His righteousness is working through me to serve Him as He wills today. Lord, I am so thankful for Your perfect righteousness, and that You cover me with it as I begin each new day. Amen

Years ago I had a revelation
that the the revival of the church would come. First it was prayer that would open the door for much needed work in the hearts of His people . Some of the church even appeared to have no life. But the Lord would bring life to them also.

There is much to be shared about this but to put in a a few words, I will give it a try. I believe the word of God teaches that we need to be cleansed of all unrighteousness. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. I believe we do not do this as often and as seriously as we should. If we hide sin in our hearts, He will not hear us. In order to intercede and have our prayers powerful and effective, we must confess the hidden sin in our hearts that are really hard to examine and admit to. I don’t want to believe that I have pride, jealously, hatred, unforgiveness, etc, etc. But God wants us to examine these deep inner sins. If we say we have no sin, the truth is not in us. (This is the belt of truth) This is what we sometimes neglect and ignore, we don’t want to face or admit it, but it is essential to powerful and effective prayer. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. In order to be righteous we must be cleansed of all unrighteousness through confession. Jesus is our high priest that we can confess to and also, to confess to one another and pray for one another. He gives us grace when we humble ourselves and admit we are sinners and need His cleansing and He gives us His power to overcome as we humble ourselves.

Yes, I could not agree more to make the most of this time for our God’swork. . At the beginning of each new year my husband and I we ask the Lord for direction and a word of knowedge from His Word.
For 2020 He gave us Rom. 12:12 “Rejoice in hope,be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.. “. We are thankful. The Lord during this stay home time is giving us hope to rejoice in all of his promises. The Lord is teaching us to be patient during difficult times and tribulation, and we are constant in prayers with praise, thanksgiving, worship, intercessions and repentance for us and our nation. We are able to run to our prayer room and just talk to Him, or just in silence listen or just praise. He is always waiting He loves us so. It has been for us a reset button, a cleansing of our soul ..the Lord is preparing the Bride.
Waiting for His return. Rev.22:20 Surely I am coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

…From Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to falsehood, who does not swear deceitfully.”
What’s a pure heart? I would describe it as a heart that obeys what Jesus called the Great Commandment, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.” A pure heart regards others as God sees them. Just a couple days ago, I was walking laps around our local high-school stadium’s track that surrounds the football field. It took me three full laps before I ran out of “nasty neighbor” words–greedy, gossipers, thieves, hoarders, unforgiving, envious, and so on, descriptions of those I need to love in order to have the heart of God. It’s a big order and only by the power of the Holy Spirit (and awareness of the Lord’s amazing love for me) can I walk in His love.

Yes yes and more yes! Right on the mark.James 4:7 Therefore submit to God.Moreover, take a stand against the Adversay
and he will flee from you.Come close to God and he will come close to you. Clean your hands and purify your hearts you
double minded peolpe.Wail, mourn sob! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into gloom. Humble yourself
before The Lord and he will lift you up. This was the scriptue that came to me when all this hand washing and physical
distancing was being put forward. And our hands are to be open to be generous, our lips are to be clean as well, and yet
we are not to be of the world. A bride making herself read. Love the article.

Thank you for sharing that Word and I am in total agreement, that God is trying to get HIS people ready and prepared during this quarantine time, to repent(2 Chronicles 7:14) “If my people……turn from their wicked ways”). God is wanting the church to be the church (not the building) without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27)

Thank you for this confirming word. This was the impression I received from the Lord this morning: “Fill your cup—drink deeply of My pure Word. Be washed, be cleansed, be purified.”
My reading was Zechariah 2-3 today. There is much more, but the following confirms what we are talking about:
“See, I have taken your iniquity away from you and will clothe you with festal robes.” Zech 3:4b
Agreeing with you in prayer that we all may be washed by the water of the Word as never before to prepare ourselves.

this is a dangerous precept to propagate, because everyone in the body of Christ is called to Intercession and Supplication, it is not a special office or gift from God Almighty, although if you are faithful in Intercession the Eternal Lord will increase your ability, but that is for the faithful Christian.

The Lord has called this our ‘Sabbath Rest Sabbatical’ which invokes the ‘wilderness’ where the Lord ‘tested Israel to find what was is them. So it is with us, and Jesus Lord in this Wilderness, as He is in all dry times, driving us deeper into Him. “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts”….there is a warning of not entering His rest!

Covenanted to our church which began in 1973, as an outgrowth of the Jesus movement, we have meandered all these years, following the cloud & pillar of fire, learning obedience and the costs of discipleship. As a man of the West, in the USA, the Lord’s sledge hammer has been doing its work, most effectively, still a pile of rubble to be broken down. Self-righteousness & rebellion are very subtle sins that can easily go undetected in the heart of this man.

This is the season of “Radical Repentance” allowing Jesus to put the icing on the cake. The cross gets bigger and heavier every day, and His grace will see me through.

So many scriptures come to mind, yet, a poem used by Corrie Ten Boom is what I’ll quote:

music player message

Recently I was driving around, running errands when I heard a poem being recited on the radio. Not a very common occurrence these days. But what a blessing that I can be moving around town and hear words of wisdom, written by another person, and recited by yet another person which have somehow traveled through the airwaves, are received by an apparatus in my car, and then arrive at my ear in such a way that I can understand the words, thoughts, and truths being expressed. Have you ever thought about how amazing that is? The wonder that such a thing exists and is actually real? It seems to defy explanation that we should live in such an intelligible universe. And yet we take such marvels for granted because they are common place.

But the wonder does not stop there. For the poem itself was also exactly what I needed to hear at that moment. Hard words, but good words. Bittersweet, yet needful. And I was left reflecting on them long after the last syllable was spoken and the car had pulled back into the driveway.

Just what I needed to hear. And as I think about it again now, surely that providential arrangement of events was an even greater wonder than the poem and the radio and all that jazz which allowed the message to reach me. You see, towards the end of last year some members of my family were dealing with some very serious illnesses and some of those health issues are ongoing and look to be a part of our lives indefinitely. I don’t know if you’ve ever dealt with serious illness, but it can really take you off your game. Some days sickness is more than just rain on your parade, it’s like a raging torrent, washing all your confetti and flower petals down the drain. It can threaten to take your hopes and dreams with it, even when it’s not you who is suffering from it. It’s hard watching those you love go through terrible pain and feeling like there is nothing you can do to stop it.

He weaveth steadily
And yet, in the midst of it all came this poem, speaking of God and the way he weaves our lives as a tapestry. I’ve always loved the metaphor of God as a weaver. It can be so hard to wrap your mind around the realities of providence and omnipotence, but somehow seeing God as the skillful artist and our lives as his tapestry helps to make sense of the insensible. This is one of the reasons I chose to title one of the chapters from my book, Into the Vast, “Weaving”. In it, one of the characters explains how she dealt with the death of her husband. She says one of my favorite lines from the book, “Never give up. Because giving up is only trading a small problem for a larger one. Everything, in the end, is passing”.

The ideas of pain and suffering and God’s role in them come up in Awakening the Sentients as well. In that novel, one of the characters asks, “The question is not, why does he not give us only good gifts, but why does he give us any good gifts at all?” It is a question we do not like to ask, especially in the midst of suffering. There is something in us that has the sense that “that’s not right” when we face unexpected pain and tragedy. We have an inkling that this is not how the story was meant to play out, and yet if we are able to have the faith to trust the author of the story, we may yet see that there is an end coming which will make sense of it all.

The poem I heard was often quoted by a woman well versed in pain and suffering, Corrie Ten Boom, that dear Dutch saint and survivor of the concentration camps of WWII. I watched her story portrayed in the movie, “The Hiding Place”, several years ago, and every time she is quoted, or I hear stories from her life, I am amazed by her great faith and love for God. Reflecting on the source of this poem, that it resonated so much with someone who came through a crucible of such horrific experience, only deepens my amazement at the wonder of these truths and of the God who ordained that they should be written down, recited, and heard, in a tiny little car, on a cold winter day, in the midst of sorrow springing forth to faith, hope, and trust in God, the grand weaver of the universe.

The Weaver
by Grant Colfax Tullar

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.
Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.
Not ’til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned
He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.

I John 1:9 ‘if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness’. As we pray, intercede, stand in the gap; we cry out to our Heavenly Father, asking “is it me’? Show me, reveal to my heart, if I am disobedient, displeasing to You Almighty God and Your Kingdom? Lord Jesus cleanse me, wash me in the Your Holy Blood. We ask for mercy, grace, compassion, tender loving kindness toward us. Speak to me, Your People, individually if we have allowed this pestilence, pandemic, to come upon the land. I Repent, forgive me of my wrong choices, unrighteousness; I Repent on behalf of the Body of Christ, The Church, This Nation, and the whole world; we humble ourselves, bow down at your feet, and turn away from our idols, wicked ways, and from this world’s evil system; we turn back to our First Love, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, with a true repentance heart. We come seeking your Holy Face continually, we acknowledge, You Are Lord, Our Soon Coming Saviour. Hear our Cry, receive our prayer’s, and our worship, and praise, as we sing unto You, our Lord, God a new song; remember Your Covenant, and Promises toward us, your ‘People Called By Your Holy Name, ‘Jesus Christ’. Omnipotent Father, save, sanctify, justify, deliver, set the captives free; pour out your Holy Spirit on all flesh, bring forth a Great Awakening, and Revival; whosoever shall call upon the Name of The Lord Shall Be Saved. Be Glorified, Magnified, Exalted, for casting the COVID-19 Coronavirus back to the pit of darkness. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I have always taken special care of that which has been given to me. I have cared for things as if they are new.
During this semester of my life, God has begun showing me some of the ‘cobwebs’I have allowed, forgotten about and endured throughout this lifetime. I have become comfortable talking with Him all the day long. He has assured me that it is time to let go of the old, clear up and prepare for the AWAKENING He has promised. I must be open to new understanding and spend less of my time fixing that which was broken. Now, I must boldly share His Word. I needed the ‘rest’ from the world.

Yes. I identify with this -of course. Exciting, God is calling all of us to repentance-what grace & opportunity. Friday, May 1, is the Day of Repentance beginning at 12 noon Jerusalem time. Father, I identify with this call to repentance. I have prayed much from Lamentation 5: 19-22. “But You O LORD reigns forever; Your throne endures from generation to generation. Why do You forget us forever. Why do You for so many days? Restore us to Yourself, O LORD, that we may be restored! renew our days of old- unless you have utterly rejected us, and You remain exceedingly angry with us.” Have mercy on me O Lord and heal my soul,” restore unto me O God the joy of my salvation.”

I passed the night praying. Toward the end I made notes to write about an extrapolation of Mat 5:28 to include not just the lust of the eyes, but also the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. What I mean is, all of our problems are on the inside, what we indulge in in our thoughts and fantasies. In addition to refusing indulging in sexual fantasies we need to carry that concept to refusing indulging in any thoughts that feed our pride, etc. We set ourselves back every time we have fellowship with darkness. We must press forward until we gain the testimony of Jesus (what he said in Joh 14:30 “the prince of this world … has nothing in me”).

Yes The Lord spoke to me in my quiet time taking me to 1 2:10 – 3:23 ….Paul telling the Corinthian’s “we must go back to the foundation in Jesus Christ… that we Americans were on milk and must go deeper with God and learn to listen to the Holy Spirit, the meat of His word.
Paul tells us to go back to the foundation, the foundation in Jesus Christ and the first command to “love the Lord thy God with all your heart all your mind all your strength”
and then I picked up a pen and wrote words like “ you walked the hallways of education and kicked me out of schools, you allowed sports and entertainment to replace me on Sundays, you allowed Hollywood to be a counterfeit to me, you allowed the government to legislate me and murder, you abandoned me in the family circle and you allowed movies and culture to mock me.
Then the question was posed, “do you really want to go back to Egypt.. do you really want to go back to the way America Was?”

I whole’heartedly’ agree – Our Bible study has been studying the prophets… each one would seek to call God’s people back – The word is TeShuvah – RETURN – to relationship which will require turning away from anything that is not Of God or His Word (repentance) – None of the outward activities purify our hearts, only an inward cleansing that is at the heart of repentance. Our healing is to be from the inside out… as a body of believers – then God can bring that time of Awakening to others! It begins with the people of God.

These words “Am I Clean on the Inside” caught my attention as I was reading about the Hebrides revival yesterday due to the story of Donald Trump’s bible being handed down to Donald Trump’s mother from her Aunt’s, two old women who committed to pray and shepherded in revival. This “Am I Clean” wording reminds me of wording in an important breakthrough prayer in ushering in that revival. These Aunts of Trump’s mother called the elders to meet pray and they did meet in a barn in winter. One writer says “Well that continued for some weeks–indeed, I believe almost a month and a half. Until one night– now this is what I am anxious for you to get ahold of – one night they were kneeling there in the barn, pleading this promise, “I will pour water on him that is thirsty, floods upon the dry ground” when one young man, a deacon in the church, got up and read Psalm 24. “Who shall ascend the hill of God? Who shall stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands and a pure heart who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity or sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing (not a blessing, but THE blessing) of the Lord.” And then that young man closed his Bible.

And looking down at the minister and the other office bearers, he said this – maybe crude words, but perhaps not so crude in our Gaelic language – he said, “It seems to me to be so much humbug to be praying as we are praying, to be waiting as we are waiting, if we ourselves are not rightly related to God.” And then he lifted his two hands – and I’m telling you just as the minister told me it happened – he lifted his two hands and prayed, “God, are my hands clean? Is my heart pure?” But he got no further. That young man fell to his knees and then fell into a trance.

Now don’t ask me to explain this because I can’t. He fell into a trance and is now lying on the floor of the barn. And in the words of the minister, at that moment, he and his other office bearers were gripped by the conviction that a God-sent revival must ever be related to holiness, must ever be related to Godliness. Are my hands clean? Is my heart pure? The man that God will trust with revival – that was the conviction.

When that happened in the barn, the power of God swept into the parish. And an awareness of God gripped the community such as hadn’t been known for over 100 years. An awareness of God – that’s revival, that’s revival. And on the following day, the looms were silent, little work was done on the farms as men and women gave themselves to thinking on eternal things, gripped by eternal realities.

Now, I wasn’t on the island when that happened. But, again, one of the sisters sent for the minister. And she said to him, “I think you ought to invite someone to the parish. I cannot give a name, but God must have someone in His mind for we saw a strange man in the pulpit, and that man must be somewhere…” See: https://www.christianstogether.net/Articles/94936/Christians_Together_in/Christian_Life/Revival_in_the.aspx?page=4#feedback

I agree with this intercessor. God is indeed wanting us to seek to be concerned more about our inwardness (if that is a word), more so than the outward man that is daily decaying (Matthew 7:16-20). We spend so much money and time on what we look like, concerned about the self image, not the god image. Now, we have so much time on our hands, what are we doing with it? Don’t waste this time running all over to find cleaner for the outside, that is another distraction, get your heart right with God? Acts 8:21

We know that the elderly and vulnerable are most susceptible to death from the Coronavirus. When it first hit our community several months ago, my heart wondered whether God was sparing these people from things to come. The feeling is that something is coming that will be beyond the ability of this grouping of people to withstand. Repent and cleanse our hearts – yes. Prepare for what is to come. Come, Lord Jesus.
