A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM IFA PRESIDENT DAVE KUBAL
On May 6, 2021, the first Thursday of May, our nation celebrates the National Day of Prayer. In addition to President/CEO of IFA, I serve on the board of the National Day of Prayer committee. This observance is very important to me and to our nation.
But on the National Day of Prayer, do you know what I will be thinking and praying about?
The 250,000 IFA intercessors!
For many, the National Day of Prayer is one day to pray for the nation. For IFA intercessors, it is a lifestyle of intercession, a passion, a commitment, and a prayer burden that is lived out every day. On the National Day of Prayer, I will be thanking God for the commitment of a quarter of a million intercessors to see God’s purposes for America fulfilled through sustained prayer and Spirit-led obedience.
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy. . . (Phil 1:3-4)
To help you commemorate the National Day of Prayer, IFA is offering a packet of FREE resources–no donation necessary. We want you to be able to share your passion about praying for the nation with your friends. In this packet you will receive 5 copies of 3 important resources:
Praying for Government, a bookmark prayer guide that covers all 3 branches of the federal government
Top U.S. Officials, a bookmark prayer guide with a list of all of our nation’s leaders, so you can pray for them by name
31 Day Prayer Calendar, our completely revamped prayer calendar with a unique prayer for every day of the month
I want to personally invite you to join me in a 31 day prayer challenge–starting on the National Day of Prayer, let’s use the prayer calendar to pray for our nation together for 31 days straight. We encourage you to invite your friends to join you in this challenge! It is our hope that many more Christians will develop a daily habit of praying for the nation.
Gratefully in Christ,
David Kubal
IFA President/CEO

It is interesting to me that I committed to intermittent fasting and prayer for the next 21 days, and the 21st day of that is May 6, the National Day of Prayer. I believe that is a “God-thing” for me. The state of our country spiritually has been on my heart for many years now, and I am praying that it is not too late for our nation, that God has not given up on us as a country. We are seeing many “wake-up calls” happen lately, and I am praying that they are not judgments, but reminders to draw near to God and He will draw near to us. There are many unsaved people in our nation and they need to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. My heart breaks for the slander against the Word, Jesus Christ and Christianity. But greater is He that is in us than He that is in the World.
For years the “Church of Washington” (a united group of congregations of churches in our community) would gather on the Court House stairs and pray for our government. It was a glorious gathering and one that will be lovingly remembered for years to come.
The final gathering a few years ago was faced with a rebellious group that gathered across the public street and shouted their opposition and cursed the event. The city government felt it was time to stop this public event on those stairs to our seat of government.
This year we encourage believers to gather and sit on those steps and without any microphones or orators simply pray for a divine intervention from the throne of God. Thank you for the tools to provide those warriors.
I pray that every believer will continue to intercede, in prayer, for our country. I pray that we can see now, that we have to faithfully intercede, every day, not just off and on, for our country. We are in unprecedented times, and our ONLY answer is the Lord! God does hear our prayers and
He will answer them! He is faithful, always. Praise His name!
Dear Mr Kubal, It is with a humble heart that I have organized an observance the last four years for the National Day of Prayer in our Church. Intercessors for America have been very helpful to me as I put together prayer guides to help people with focused, corporate prayer as well as being able to have prayer helps in praying for our country, churches and families. the first two years I would set up 8 prayer stations with prayer direction and current information at each table. People were very blessed with this time of guided prayer. The third year due to the pandemic it was a challenge because the church was closed, but with prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit I set up my 8 stations outside and as people came in they were given a packet with prayer guides for each station. This year the Holy Spirit has helped me form an indoor event at the noon hour, has provided a prayer leader for each category listed in the NDofP folders, helped me to compose strong prayers for opening and closing as well as a time of personnel reflection. My heart for many years has been to encourage the Body of Christ in corporate prayer with a springboard coming from ones intimacy with Our Personnel God. The response is not always what one would want to see, but God has formed His Gideon’s Army and continues to challenge Pastoral staff to be vigilant in prayer. I never know what the results will bring forth, but I know that my heart is sincere before Him to encourage prayer in the Church as a priority both for our personnel walk and our Corporate life. Please pray for our observance and I can never express the blessing this ministry has been to me as I pursue the work God has birthed in me many years ago. He is FAITHFUL GOD and will accomplish His work and purpose as we commit to Him our lives and time. May He richly bless this ministry and may it grow as we seek His face and will for purpose in our life.
I will continue to pray for our leaders and for a spiritual turnaround in Washington, because the Word instructs me to do so. However, I believe to expect this is hoping that the tail will begin to wag the dog. The real answer lies in a true revival and unification in the Church. For the past fifty or more years, the Church has been voluntarily and systematically neutralized and has become content to quietly sit on the sidelines and play church. Until this changes, nothing in Washington will change. Why not shift at least half of our focus and dialogue to sincere personal repentance and an intense pursuit of God through intermittent fasting and intense prayer. A unified Church can yield a level of spiritual power and influence that we can only imagine! This should to be the theme for the National Day of Prayer. It is not too late for the Church to become the salt and light we were intended to be and refuse to be trampled under foot.
