UPDATE: Iran has responded. The Daily Signal reported that Iran launched dozens of missiles at Israel late yesterday, injuring dozens of people.
Israel struck Iran early Friday morning, engaging in a “precise, preemptive strike,” attacking Iran’s nuclear program and killing several senior Iranian commanders.

The Times of Israel has the details:
Jerusalem said it had engaged in a “precise, preemptive strike” against Iran, declaring an imminent threat from its nuclear program and announcing a domestic state of emergency as citizens braced for retaliation. Top officials warned of a potential prolonged conflict, noting that Tehran had the power to inflict significant pain upon Israel.
Multiple waves of Israeli strikes were reported throughout Iran for several hours, starting at around 3 a.m. and into the morning. Over 200 Israeli Air Force aircraft were involved in the opening strikes, and fighter jets dropped over 330 munitions on some 100 targets, the IDF said.
The operation, dubbed “Rising Lion,” was directed at Iran’s nuclear program — the military assessed Iran currently has enough enriched uranium to build 15 nuclear bombs — as well as its ballistic missile factories and its military capabilities, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the military said.
The Times notes that blasts were reported in Natanz, the site of one of Iran’s key nuclear facilities, and that several nuclear scientists and high-ranking military officers were killed, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Hossein Salami and Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of Iran’s military.
In a separate article, The Times details that “at least 20” were killed in the strike:
At least 20 senior Iranian commanders, including IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh, were killed in Israel’s strikes on Iran on Friday, two regional sources tell Reuters.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khameni has promised that Israel will face a “severe punishment” for its actions. “With this crime,” he said, “the Zionist regime has set itself for a bitter and painful fate and it will definitely receive it.” President Trump, meanwhile, has voiced support for Israel, writing on Truth Social that he gave Iran “chance after chance to make a deal.”

With America getting involved and Iran promising retaliation, we seem to be at the beginning of a much larger and longer conflict. Let’s pray for our leaders and Israel’s leaders as they stand boldly against Iran!

Father, we ask that You will step into the leadership gap in Iran, oversee it and fill it with the person of your choice. If he be a member of the underground church, so be it. If not, choose someone of integrity who loves the Iranian people, his country, has lived in and experienced the best of America, knowing we are no threat to his nation. Someone who has experienced capitalism without selfishness and greed. Someone who has no interest in ridding the world of Jews, warring with the nations in their neighborhood or the United States. Help them build a prosperous nation of freedom loving people where the name of Jesus and the gospel is respected and preached. Amen.
Praying for the Lord God Almighty to manifest himself in a way and that causes as many as possible in the Middle East to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. May their fear of God increase and may they submit to his omnipotence and mercy. In Jesus name, amen.
Lord, we ask You to protect Israel as it fights with Iran. Give our leaders and Israel’s leaders courage and wisdom as they stand against this hostile nation!
This past weekend began 30 days of prayer & day-long fasts for Israel with this prayer focus: “I decree right now that in this year of grace to dethrone the giants, the giant that was never taken out in Gaza (Joshua 14), that giant’s headship will start to be and fully be broken,” says the Lord. We say, “Bring back the bodies that have been snatched. And just like it says in Zechariah, loose the prisoners from the stronghold, & let a double portion repayment begin to come.” We see this happening!

Yes and amen, Michelle! I was just considering the Scripture in Jer. 49 this morning. I felt that the Lord was speaking to me in this layered prophecy for ancient times and modern times. Perhaps there will be both a return to Persia once this evil regime is destroyed, and a sending out. Some will return to take back their nation from this conquest of the ayatollahs. And many evangelists will be sent out to the Islamic nations. They are chomping at the bits to go! May it be so according to Your will and timing!
This is the beginning of the end to this evil regime in Iran. We are thankful YHVH, that You are acting on behalf of Israel, Your beloved, and on behalf of our precious brothers and sisters in faith in Iran to bring it to pass. Complete what You have begun, in whatever ways will limit unnecessary death and destruction. Please protect Your people.
