I Prayed have prayed
Adonai, set an Issachar anointing over intercessors. Help us seek You diligently regarding what is to come, and increase our faith.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

The apocalypse. The tribulation. The end times.

Prophecies, commentaries, teachings, and debates about the biblical aspects and natural outcomes of these abound. Unfortunately, the divisions in Christ’s Body have only produced nearly as many denominations as there are opinions about all this. So how are we to consider what is evident all around us and what the Scriptures reveal is to come?

Who is praying on the wall?

My prayer is that we would be attentive to what we’re taught in 1 John 4:1–5, not believing everything we hear spoken, but testing the spirits by the Spirit. Doing this will help us prepare our hearts to believe truth that supersedes every human perspective. As Yeshua has said: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 ESV).

Regarding the realities of tribulation and the shaking necessary to restore all things, the spiritual shaking must be powerful enough to tear down everything opposed to what is good. The natural shaking, dismantling, and destruction must be sufficient to tear down the walls, temples, and halls of all who oppose God’s plans, purposes, and people.

Consider what Rahab’s family must have endured during Joshua’s battle at Jericho, and the redemption she experienced because of her faith throughout: hearing the children of Israel march around the walls each day; experiencing what was probably a progressive change in the spiritual atmosphere inside and surrounding the walls of Jericho; having the very ground beneath and the walls surrounding begin to move; the gates sealed, such that food and supplies could not be delivered; believing the assurance of the Hebrew spies enough to remain in place, awaiting rescue, having hung that red scarf to the window seal; the red scarf signaling that everyone inside her house feared God, justifying the covenant of her protection. Remember that one of the conditions of her family’s protection and redemption was that they must remain inside the house — no matter what chaos ensued around them. They were to remain under the covering. Anyone exiting the doors of her house, joining the fray of those opposing Joshua in any way, was subject to death (see Joshua 2:19).

If Rahab believed, having only a red scarf as a token, how much more ought we to have sustaining faith when the ground quakes beneath us or the walls crumble around us, knowing that we are covered by the Redeemer Himself? As we intercede from our assigned places upon the wall, let us also remember to confess our faith, to ask for an increase of that faith, and to meditate on Yeshua’s promise: “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand” (John 10:29 ESV).

Thank you for this clarion call to faith and faithfulness – ie. applying our faith through obedience.

We have also been asking the LORD to raise up Rahabs in Gaza – true believers who will aid Israel in this battle against the evil of hamas.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. As this war is taking place between Israel and Palestine and each of their allies, we pray for innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. We pray Your protection over them, that they find refuge and shelter in You. Watch over them and help them to find a way of escape in this conflict. Nothing is impossible with You!
By faith, we send in angels to supernaturally guard and protect the hostages taken by Hamas. We know Your angels encamp around us; they also deliver us. We pray for miraculous deliverance today, Lord, for the hostages. Give them strength and ensure their safety, God, so they may come out on the other side of this dangerous situation in victory.
Finally, Lord, protect us here at home. We stand in unity, praying for the peace of Jerusalem. We take refuge under the shadow of Your wings. Give our lawmakers Your wisdom as to our nation’s role in this conflict. Guard our minds and hearts from fear. Help us not to worry, rather to put our full, unwavering trust in You for our families and our households. As for those of us in the FlashPoint Army, we will serve the Lord!
