On a radiant spring morning in Minnesota, the air was filled with hope and reverence as hundreds of faithful gathered at our State Capitol. Representing 30 diverse cities across the state, this assembly of believers came together with a shared purpose: to intercede for Minnesota and the nation. The vibrant green lawns and blooming flowers provided a serene backdrop, amplifying the sense of renewal and divine connection that permeated the event.

The gathering began with a warm welcome, as organizers expressed gratitude for the turnout and the shared commitment to prayer. A scripture reading followed, carefully chosen to extol the greatness, wisdom, and sovereignty of the Lord. The passage, drawn from Psalm 145, resonated deeply, reminding all present of God’s boundless mercy and eternal reign. Together, the crowd acknowledged His supreme power and authority, lifting their voices in unison to honor the Creator who holds all things in His hands. 

To set a sacred tone, the group transitioned into an “all praise” session, a powerful time of worship that invited God’s presence. Voices rose in harmony, singing hymns and spontaneous praises that echoed across the Capitol grounds. The atmosphere shifted, filled with a tangible sense of awe and reverence, as participants prepared their hearts for the prayers to come. 

In a touching moment, an eight-year-old child stepped forward to lead the assembly in the Lord’s Prayer. The purity and boldness of the young voice stirred the crowd, serving as a reminder of the faith Jesus praised in children. This was followed by a heartfelt prayer of repentance, led by a local pastor, who humbly sought forgiveness for the state’s shortcomings and asked for God’s guidance in restoring righteousness.

Over the next hour and a half, the gathering unfolded as a dynamic blend of individual and corporate prayer. Men and women of all ages and backgrounds took turns lifting their voices, each prayer infused with passion and conviction. The topics covered were both specific and far-reaching, addressing the pressing needs of Minnesota and the nation. Prayers for righteousness and justice called for a return to biblical values in society. Intercessions for the judicial system sought wisdom and integrity for judges and lawmakers. Petitions for elected officials, from local leaders to national figures, asked for divine guidance in their decisions. The education system was lifted up, with fervent requests for truth and godliness to shape the minds of the next generation. Above all, cries for revival rang out, as participants pleaded for a spiritual awakening to sweep across the land. 

Interwoven with these individual prayers were moments of “all prayer,” where the entire assembly prayed aloud simultaneously. These times were marked by an extraordinary sense of unity, as diverse voices blended into a powerful chorus of supplication. The anointing was palpable, and many later shared that they felt the Holy Spirit moving mightily among them. Declarations were made, proclaiming the power of the blood of Jesus and victory over the spiritual battles facing America. These bold statements of faith stirred the crowd, reinforcing their confidence in God’s promises. 

As the gathering drew to a close, a local elder read the iconic sermon “That’s My King” by Dr. S.M. Lockridge. The stirring words, which vividly describe the majesty and glory of Jesus Christ, left the crowd in awe. With each line— “My King is the King of kings and Lord of lords… He’s enduringly strong, He’s entirely sincere, He’s eternally steadfast”—hearts swelled with adoration. The reading culminated in a collective proclamation, as the assembly declared Jesus as Lord over Minnesota, their voices resounding with authority and joy. 

The event concluded with a closing prayer, led by a group of intercessors who thanked God for His presence and asked for continued protection and guidance. Participants lingered afterward, sharing stories of answered prayers and encouraging one another in their faith. The sense of community was profound, as strangers became brothers and sisters united in Christ. 

Reflecting on the day, organizers expressed deep gratitude for the prayers of intercessors across Minnesota and from Intercessors for America, whose spiritual covering had undergirded the event. The gathering was more than a moment in time; it was a catalyst for ongoing prayer and action, igniting hope that God would move mightily in Minnesota and beyond. For those who attended, the day was a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity, the transformative power of prayer, and the unshakable truth that Jesus reigns as King.
