I Prayed have prayed

With the increase of conflicting views, confusing headlines, and counterfeit messages, we must seek to discern things by the Spirit and not by the flesh. As believers, we have been given the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), the heart of the Father (1 John 3:1), and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:1-11) in order to know Truth.  Here are some scriptural keys in knowing how to rightly discern that which is of the Holy Spirit and that which is not. May our prayers reflect the full counsel of heaven and God’s eternal purposes.

9 KEYS TO GROWING IN SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT:

Walk in love. Without God’s love and mercy motivating our prayers, we cannot rightly discern our opinions from God’s purposes.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ. (Philippians 1:9-10)

Know the fear of the Lord. Once you have encountered the power of God’s holiness and might, every other fear will bow and you will follow His ways regardless of the cost.

And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make a decision by what His ears hear. (Isaiah 11:3)

Know God’s Word. Our conscience is only as good as what we feed it. Determine to fill your mind with God’s Word and it won’t be hard to recognize the counterfeits.

Teach me good discernment and knowledge,  for I believe in Your commandments. (Psalm 119:66)

Distinguish the underlying spirit. We can be motivated by the Holy Spirit, a demonic spirit, or by our own human spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to discern the difference.

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!  …Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, “The LORD declares,” when the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled.  (Ezekiel 13:3-7)

Live by a higher standard. Unless we are intentional in pursuing righteousness and holiness, the world will suck us into their way of thinking and cloud our judgment.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

Recognize the trap of man-made ideas. Even good ideas may not be God ideas. The religious and political spirits continually seek to limit our vision and diminish our faith.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

Learn from practice. Learn from your own track record of discernment to fine-tune your perceptions and conclusions.

But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:14)

Yield any personal agenda. Lay down any need to prove a point, build a case, or defend your position. Determine to support God’s agenda and not your own.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)

Pray in the Spirit. Sometimes we simply don’t know how to pray. Our spiritual prayer language bypasses our flesh and goes directly to the throne. We experience similar access when we intercede with groans, weeping, or utterances prompted by the Spirit.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)

Let’s pray that our discernment will continue to grow and increase so that we can rightly divide the word of truth and come into full agreement with the Father’s will and purpose for our lives and for this nation.

Father, God we surrender our will, our heart desires to You, that our spirit would pray in accordance to Your will for Your people and this nation. forgive us Oh Lord, when we pray according to our own thinking and not according to the mind of Christ. May we surrender all to You and teach us to pray in accordance to your will and purposes. Be glorified in the prayers we pray, for You are our God and You reign. Amen

Amen. Call us to yourself to know that we are in the family of God, illegitimate heirs made legitimate by your Son and the sacrifice He made on our behalf. Let us then know the goodness of your counsel and forgiveness of our sins by your grace. Train us up in the way we should go, being ever thankful in our coming and going, proving who we are as your children by our actions as taught by your everlasting word. Let us inhale your love even as you breathe life into your creation. Amen.

Lord equip us to be Warriors in Prayer, standing in the Gap, speaking and praying Your Word sharing in Love to whosoever will listen. Your Spirit convicts, chooses those whom shall believe and receive Salvation. Help us to know this list, to memorize Your Word and to be Spiritually filled with Discernment of Your will and plan. May this year bring in a rope harvest of believers, for the Truth of Your Word to expose the lies and deception of this Impeachment and the true motivation behind it. May those suffering cry out to You Lord for guidance, strength and obedience to You. May our children know that Truth of being male and female and how perfectly You created us this way. That each has a role to strengthen each other and ultimately bring You Glory and Praise. Lord those stuck in human trafficking may they be found and able to get help and eventually be brought back home. Protect our children by Satan’s attacks on the family unit. Lord I pray Your saving grace and mercies over babies in the womb. I ask that every parent would see an ultrasound and know that this is their child. I pray for revival of pregnant Mom’s and the child’s fathers to keep the babies or put up for adoption. I pray that we would be zealous to share the Gospel either face to face or however You open doors for us to share. May You be glorified Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

These 9 keys are actually things that WE intentionally and purposefully do by choice, God cannot do them for us. We must choose to walk in love, we must study to know His word, we must determine to live a holy life on purpose. I’d say this is God putting the ball in our court to see if we are serious about what He has called each of us to do: to grow in spiritual discernment. Not everyone will take the challenge and put forth the effort. Let it be known today, especially in the spiritual realm, that I will. Will you?

Amen. Thank you for this encouraging reminder of following the fundamentals prescribed by our Father for living a victorious life. Living in Love and the Fear of the Lord are indeed primary. Prov 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Realize that the fear of the Lord is actually terror and to those who are perishing but it is AWE and POWERFUL AMAZEMENT and LIFE to those who are being saved out of this corrupt age. (Phil 1:28, I Cor 1:18)

My precious Father, you hold us in the palm of your hand. You know our hearts and minds better than anyone because you have molded and made us in your image. Help us Lord to walk in your ways and follow your commands. Give us your wisdom Lord for it is pure and holy, and fruitful, open, impartial and sincere (James 3:17). Teach us to discern the spirits and pull down the evil and raise up the spirit of good and righteousness. We place a hedge of protection around the president and family, vice president and his family and all standing with the president. Let it be a hedge of fire that will burn all evil movements against them. Lift those standing strong up and keep them strong in your might not in their own, for in our own strength we fail. We give you all glory, honor and praise. We love you and worship you with all our hearts. Let our words be your words and our thoughts be your thoughts in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord God
Please help us to have Godly discernment to hear and see only You above and in all things. Help us to determine to seek and follow you whole heartedly, and guide us in Your will at all times. Teach us to share Your word more effectively in love and boldness. Help us to be Your hands and feet with every last breath in us. Keep us standing in the gap interceding for those in our sphere of influence. To God be the Glory forever and ever amen
