Revered international evangelist Dr. Billy Graham is 98 and still maintains that the “best preacher in the family” is his beautiful daughter, Anne Graham Lotz. As the chairwoman of this year’s “National Day of Prayer” on May 4, she took time to unite with over 1000 intercessors on a nationwide prayer call sponsored by Intercessors for America ministry.
I had the honor of being a part of this significant time the day after returning from the 29th Roundtable hosted by Rick Joyner, prophetic leader in the body of Christ. This annual gathering of senior leaders convenes to “hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Rev.2:29b), as well as build our bonds of friendship.
“What happened?” “What was God saying?” “What do we need to know to keep step with the Spirit?” people ask.
Here are 10 significant points I gleaned from these two important events.
First Friday National Prayer Call
Intercessors for America was birthed out of the ministry of Derek Prince over four decades ago to foster prayer and fasting for our nation. On the first Friday of every month, we host a nationwide prayer conference call featuring a prominent Christian leader.
Here are five “gleanings” from our recent intercessory prayer time.
- Under the sovereignty of God, history is in the hands of the intercessors.
With America dangerously close to the precipice, we’ve experienced divine intervention, but this breathing room must not be an excuse for complacency or passivity. Darkness is being exposed in the political realm, and spiritual forces will remain aggressive to try to retain power and maintain demonic strongholds. Our sacred responsibility is to be offensive, not merely defensive, in dislodging these entities.
- Three things can provoke God’s judgment on America: abortion on demand, abandonment of Israel and homosexual marriage. Christians must remain engaged through prayer and repentance, proclamation of the gospel to change human hearts and godly persuasion with biblical truth.
- As we saw with Abraham and Noah in Scripture, God reveals to His people what is on His heart so we can pray and act accordingly. These are dangerous and strategic times, requiring us to be like Daniel in his generation in order to see true spiritual awakening in our land.
- Anne Graham Lotz is of the conviction that we are “nearing the end of human history.” Our duty is to be like the “sons of Issachar, those having understanding of times and what Israel should do …” (1 Chron.12:32a). Prayerful study of the Word of God is more important than ever before.
- God recognizes Jerusalem as the center of the Jewish nation, and the United States must honor her. We should pray that the U.S. Embassy be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as a prophetic statement of this reality. There is legislation being put forth to accomplish this significant event that will inflame the Arab world and politicians who are favorable towards Islam, whose goal is world domination.
Prophetic Roundtable Convocation
Gathering in Fort Mill, South Carolina, at the Morning Star Ministries home base, a nucleus of leaders have gathered for 29 years. Without any set agenda, our fervent desire is to deepen relationships and interact humbly to understand what God wants in our generation. “For after David had served by the counsel of God in his own generation, he fell asleep …”(Acts 13:36a).
Over 30 years ago, British leader Arthur Wallis challenged me with these words: “If you would do the best with your life, find out what God is doing in your generation and fling yourself into it.” I am in attendance to hear from my fellow brothers and sisters whom I so love and respect in order to do just this.
- Currently, we are living in critical times, where God intervened and delivered a disruptive administration, shaking things up with the “wrecking ball” and “street fighter” we needed. America has been given an opportunity to “drain the swamp” of lawlessness and corruption to recapture our heritage that is under demonic assault.
- Our priority remains the Great Commission: to make disciples of our nation and not merely comfortable converts. Through initiatives in education like charter schools, vouchers and tools like the Bullseye Challenge, we have a wide open door to rescue a generation as we learn to effectively and winsomely communicate a biblical worldview on today’s hot button issues.
- Aware that God blesses many things that He doesn’t inhabit, we must resist the lure of trying to gain followers by clever marketing rather than courageously heralding the truth in a charitable yet uncompromising way. One leader mentioned how God rebuked him early on in his ministry with these words: “You’re not building churches, you’re simply establishing franchises!”
- Although the gathering is intended for Spirit-led discussion rather than intercession, one evening, we were “hijacked” by the Holy Spirit into a lengthy time of strong intercession. Some of the areas covered were protection of our president and his family; the defunding of Planned Parenthood for slaughtering innocent babies and its genocide of African-Americans; dismantling of principalities behind media outlets despising godly change and misleading the masses; exposure of radical Islamic terrorism and its strategies; recognizing God re-calibrating individuals and ministries with His unique “alignments and assignments;” and recognizing and resisting progressives’ push towards globalism, undermining state’s rights and individual freedom.
- We as Christians must be prepared to speak the truth charitably and courageously, and not get drawn into contentious, angry debate. We must cultivate the fruit of the Spirit, especially peace, remembering “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Rom.16:20a).
Here’s the deal: We have all witnessed in the past decade parallels in the decline of both the church and the military in America. Promotion of ill-equipped individuals, departure of competent leaders, silence from those who should speak up and the “gayification” of both entities have left a vacuum God intends to fill today.

I saw someone above asked what is an Esther Fast. I did not know either. How about we explain the phrases we use that not everybody knows, or give a link?
I wanted to find more information, so I searched the internet for “Esther Fast”, using quotes as shown to avoid results about someone fast named Esther.
I learned that it is a 72-hour fast such as described in the book of Esther. I learned that it can be observed as an extreme fast with prayer for an extreme need, but people recommended not attempting a fast that could have a negative impact on your health. It can be a fast from something other than food and water, such as a fast from something I sometimes overindulge in, or from an area of bondage in my life.

Thank you Intercessors for America for being the uniting voice of the Christians who are burdened to pray for this nation. Thank you for calling attention to the many prayer needs of our country and for supporting our President and uplifting him and his cabinet, staff and most of all, his family.
Thank you to all of the faithful saints that are being obedient to the Lord to unite in repentance, fasting, and prayer. God’s promise is, “He will hear from heaven, He will forgive our sins, and He will heal our land”. Jezebel and the spirit of witchcraft have been overcome by the blood of the Lamb. Hallelujah!!
Our home group has joined the fast to cleanse our land of sin and darkness so that God can heal us.
Our home group meets every Tuesday night and has joined the three day Esther fast for our nation. We are at a tipping point the prayer will make a difference. We are praying that the corruption and moles, leakers be exposed: That every hidden thing done in darkness be uncovered with God’s glorious light. We must remove the cancer of sin for our nation to heal and move forward.
fasting. I am encouraged as I read these prayers and I join with them as we lock arms and march behind our Jesus, the Lord of all of heaven’s armies! As I committed to join this 3 day prayer and fasting my sisters contacted me with great persecution. This has not happened before. They are filled with hate and accuse me of being in a “cult” of hate by being on Franklin Graham’s Decision America fb page. They are researching all my fb posts and “likes” and saying I must be mental. I know this is instant persecution from the enemy so I am confident our joining together in this fast is causing the underbelly of the enemy to quake in fear. I join in agreement with all of you. Especially i pray for sovereign strength for those who are in water only fasts which some of us cannot do. Fasting from sugars and breads. This is it, kids! We are at “the last trump” when we must keep looking up. My prayers are concentrating on the church, the Bride, Israel and America. I join with you in prayer and fasting for our nation, our world and the harvest of the lost. I pray that darkness and evil deeds continue to be exposed and that the eyes of the church would be flooded with light so that we know the blessed hope to which we have been called. I pray that the church would waken and realize that this battle against the satanic forces is not supposed to stop. I pray that God’s plan move forward without interruption and that as we are God’s church that we speak and move in the ranks of God’s army with determination knowing that our God is mighty and powerful. The same spirit that raised Christ Jesus dwells in each of us. God has placed Jesus in a position far above all principalities and powers and we as His body are also in that same place. We praise You, Father, that You have opened the way for us to boldly come before Your throne through the precious blood of our Savior, Jesus. Thank You for raising up Donald Trump as President of the United States of America. May Your blessing, favor and protection be upon him, his family, VP Pence and his family and his entire cabinet. Give the Presidents advisers supernatural wisdom and insight to know the best thing to do in every situation and circumstance they face and grant President Trump discernment to follow the best advice. Protect him from the schemes of the devil. We pray for both abortion and gay ‘marriage’ to be abolished. Forgive us, Father, for allowing these abominations to become legal. I will be fasting from sweets and bread over the next three days. It is an honor to join in this time of prayer and fasting. I am in agreement with Cecil’s comments and want to encourage her that here in NJ we are working to see each of our state legislators adopted by an area church. We have people on assignment in prayer at county level govt. meetings. We do not have all county government meetings covered by a long shot. The mountain of government is huge. By the grace of God, the church who currently is recognizing the importance of praying for Kings and those in authority will stay alert and obedient, never to go into a place of isolation and sleep again.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Easter prayer is very important, however, we never ever stop fasting and praying until the kingdom of God come and covers the earth.

I was fasting and praying for several weeks about our Nation, Churches and President Trump and his administration. During my prayer God spoke to me to send this message to President Trump.
As the sun stood still over Gibeon and Moon, in the valley of Aijalon till the people had revenge upon their enemies. These years never ever go fast quickly as usual until the work of God accomplished by you said the God of Host.

Thank you so much for this gathering of the saints in one mind and accord with prayer and fasting. I have been praying for our president, his family, and administration. As I pray I sense we are in a great battle against the evil that is attempting to undermine this presidents agenda but also divine order that is sent from heaven.I also sense the presence of god strongly and that he is going to ARISE in His jealous wrath to make His name be known greatly. That there will be a great shaking in Washington a cleansing because of GodS sovereignty and through the prayers of the righteous. It is such a critical time to pray and fast I sense strongly Gods anointing his people with His oil of gladness to those that hate wickedness and seek righteousness. I have been praying for revival and the glory of the lord to come to the temple. I sense that revival is around the corner I wonder if others are experiencing this? Starting a water-only fast at sundown this evening for the Esther fast. There is great excitement in my spirit for what our mighty God is doing and will do!
This is good as far as it goes but it doesn’t go far enough. The Swamp in DC is fed by the swamps in every state capital. Those in turn are fed by the swamps in every county, city and town. Anyone who has attended their local city council, county commission, and school board meetings and paid close attention to what is said/not said realizes that the corruption starts there. That is where the prayer and work need to start. So who is praying for their local officials? Who is attending THOSE meetings? I’m afraid it will also take Christians exposing and opposing evil in their own towns and counties, rallying people to vote out those who would impose evil rules on us, etc. Why is the focus always on the national level when we are more likely to see an impact at the local level? How much good will a change at the national level do if it is not based on a good foundation at the local level?
I’ve been praying and praising Father daily, most days on my knees with tears and pleading, for raising up this bold man, Donald Trump, once I saw Father allowed him to defeat all other Republican Primary contenders. I continue to ask Father to continue to bless him with the same good health and enormous energy and extend this prayer to President Trump’s family, all cabinet nominees and their respective family members.
Since this past Sunday, I’ve felt Father calling me for the first time in my life, to go to Wednesday night prayer meeting, not so much as to attend the prayer meeting, but to go very early and intercede in prayer for all attending the prayer meeting, that HIS Holy Spirit will fall on each tonight and guide us all in our daily prayers and actions.
One last thing. I know Jesus said no one but the Father knows when Jesus will return to earth. But, either the day after the Presidential Election or the day after President Trump was sworn in as President, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to mark that day as the day the clock starts the countdown for Jesus to return. I could be wrong, for no one knows the mind of GOD, but the feeling was so powerful I remember pausing whatever I was doing at the time.
