Over four in 10 American Christians believe the Bible is “ambiguous” on abortion, according to the Cultural Research Center of Arizona Christian University.
The findings, released Tuesday, are part of the CRC’s American Worldview Inventory 2020 survey.
Conducted by CRC Director of Research George Barna, a noted evangelical pollster, the report found that 44% of respondents said they believe the Bible “is ambiguous in its teaching about abortion,” while 34% said “abortion is morally acceptable if it spares the mother from financial or emotional discomfort or hardship.”
Barna said in a statement that the findings on opinions about abortion were part of a broader departure from “biblical truth” by self-identified American Christians.
“The irony of the reshaping of the spiritual landscape in America is that it represents a post-Christian reformation driven by people seeking to retain a Christian identity,” said Barna.
“Unfortunately, the theology of this reformation is being driven by American culture rather than biblical truth.”
The report also found that 34% of self-identified Christians reject the idea that marriage is defined as being between one man and one woman and that 40% accept lying as morally acceptable if it advances personal interests or protect one’s reputation.
Data for the CRC report drew from a survey of 2,000 U.S. adults conducted in January, with an approximate margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points. . . .
The apologetics website Got Questions explains that “there are numerous teachings in Scripture that make it abundantly clear what God’s view of abortion is.”
“Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that God knows us before He forms us in the womb. Psalm 139:13-16 speaks of God’s active role in our creation and formation in the womb,” stated the site.
“Exodus 21:22-25 prescribes the same penalty—death—for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as for someone who commits murder. This clearly indicates that God considers a baby in the womb to be just as much of a human being as a full-grown adult.”
Pro-abortion advocates, such as Joyce Arthur of the Pro-Choice Action Network, have argued that “the Bible clearly states that life and personhood begins with ‘breath.’” This argument has appeared on abortion clinic websites and promotional materials in response to religious objections to abortion. . . .
Since March, the CRC has been releasing reports from the American Worldview Inventory 2020, focusing on different worldview topics and how self-identified Christians perceive them.
For example, a report released on Aug. 19 found that 98% of respondents said they “prefer socialism over capitalism” and did not subscribe to a biblical worldview.
By contrast, 83% of those who hold a biblical worldview responded that they supported “capitalism over socialism” and also a “limited view of the size and scope of government.”
Another report, released in June, found that 39% said they agreed with the statement “human life is sacred,” while 69% of respondents said people were “basically good.” The researchers noted that it was a decline of “14 percentage points from 83% of Americans in the past 30 years.” They hailed it as a “possible bright spot” in the study, showing that fewer people were believing a non-biblical view of humanity.
The findings also revealed that 56% of Americans believe that “human beings are created by God, and made in His image, but are fallen and in need of redemption.”

I know of a man, quite prominent, who is alive today and making a huge difference in the lives of many people, all because his mother chose life instead of murdering (aborting) him in the womb.
I personally was confronted by my OB, who asked me if I wanted another child and I chose life. My daughter is a greater blessing than I could ever have imagined and she is such a blessing to her family and all who know her.
ONLY GOD knows the plan for every live conceived and people have NO right to interfere and murder someone made in the image of God. As well as in your likeness, also.
Each child conceived is a separate human being.!!!
Bottom line: Abortion IS MURDER. It’s a sin against God. It deprives all of mankind of the uniqueness of all of the wonder of our Creator, Father God.
But He forgives us when we realize when we’ve sinned against Him because HE LOVES US SO VERY MUCH, MUCH MORE THAN WE CAN EVER IMAGINE!!!

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for all who truly love Jesus & believe HE is the WAY, the TRUTH, & the LIFE would stand on YOUR WORD, the BIBLE. I pray we see with spiritual eyes & are not deceived by worldly views. (YOUR WAYS are higher than ours!) I pray we would feed (read, speak, meditate) on YOUR WORD everyday, so that they would be in HIS LIGHT & it would shine forth out of them. Fill us with YOUR HOLY SPIRIT so that we can be a blessing to others in what we speak healing, wholeness & deliverance and serve others with YOUR LOVE. Let the GLORY of the LORD shine forth that many will draw near to JESUS, the only Name by which men can be saved. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
*I looked up the verses with “breath” in them and found nothing that says life begins when we breathe.
The Bible is clear that shedding innocent blood defiles the land and brings a curse (“be upon thee”) and needs to be avenged,
or at least confessed and repented of (turned away from doing it any longer): Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made HE man., Deuteronomy 21:9 So shalt thou put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD., Deuteronomy 19:10 That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth the for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.
Only God can convict us of our sins against Him and draw us to truth. At one time we too were lost and sinners and were corrupt in our thinking.For God so loved the world he sent His one and only begotten Son to save lost souls like me. In His great mercy and love he convicted me of my sin of murder and abortion. Today I stand up and defend LIFE in the womb. I pray continually that God convict all those who have had their hand in the abortion mill in any way that they too will come to repentance and to the cross and be saved,delivered from the lies of the evil one and becomes voice for life. The power of God’s Word and prayer will destroy the works of the evil one.

Because of DNA we now know for a certainty that a baby is a totally different person than the mother (different DNA) . Science defines life as beginning at conception. Why are people still confused about the baby being a human being?
Father, we need righteous leaders in the church who know the truth and speak the truth. We need a hunger for your Word by Christians instead of wanting their ears tickled. We need to be salt and light within our culture instead of allowing the culture change our beliefs. Please, Lord of All, work in our hearts and minds, convict us of our sins, rescue us from the devil who deceives and reveal truth that we may live as you desire us to live.
There will always be evil people in the world. But, Father, Your people not knowing or acknowledging that the murder of the innocents is wrong! I pray that enough Christians will arise and boldly speak against the evil of abortion so we will see change in the law. No Roe V. Wade!

In June 2019, I was overwhelmed by this Scripture in 2 Kings24:3,4. It says, “Surely these things happened to Judah (taken to Babylon) according to the Lord’s command, in order to remove them from His Presence because of the sins of Manasseh and all he had done, including the shedding of innocent blood. For he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord was not willing to forgive.” NIV.
I clearly see that abortion is the shedding of innocent blood and and I believe we are under judgment because of that.
I pray that all God’s people will be able to see what a horrible crime this is. May we all repent.

I praise God for his marvelous creation and I thank God for my life—so fearfully and wonderfully made. I confess that God knows all about me, insignificant and significant, the number of hairs on my head and all the days ordained for me. God values and cares for me. WHO AM I TO QUESTION OR DESTROY GOD’S CREATION? Most significant is that I am made in God’s image; I am different than the animals. Animals may control their population, sometimes destroying or neglecting their babies. Their behavior is guided by instinct. My behavior is guided by my relationship to God as his child. I reflect his goodness and his love. I cannot abort/destroy a baby, even a down syndrome child, a child conceived through rape, or any other handicapped child. I place all children in God’s hands. I value them and love them as Jesus loves the little children. Jesus says I must become like a little child to enter his kingdom. That means I rest, trust and rely on him. I can choose to live selfishly for self, but I choose to live humbly, obediently, and wholly for God.
I Pray that the hearts of Believers be open to the scriptures on this matter and also understanding! A Baby is made in the Image of G-d…Male and Female can only create! I have always thought that the phrase “Vote Your Values” should be “Vote God’s Values”. Many out there are still confused as to what their values are. As Christians, we are to align ourselves with Christ and HIS values! We are to be Christ followers! Pray, pray, pray for God to work within you to see, hear, think and feel about people, policies, and things the way He does. And then listen, understand, and follow Him and His ways. We were born in this world full of sin, but Christ redeemed us and we are to no longer follow or yearn for what the world does but to follow Christ’s example. Praise God and Thank You Jesus! Give us the strength needed to stay strong and true to you while we are here on earth. Fill us with your peace & love for others who disagree with us. Give us the words needed to plant the seeds of your love and sacrifice to others so you can nourish them along the path you’ve chosen for us all. Fill the empty void in their hearts and envelope them with your love and compassion. Fill them with your spirit! Lord Jesus, hear our cry!

I can attest to the same. I ask people of my race about the Green New Deal or Kamala’s role as the former AG in California, I can hear crickets. What amazes me is the disdain that so called Christians have towards protecting the unborn or the sanctity of marriage as defined by GOD. We have to stand on the Word of GOD. If you say vote your values, I am afraid many don’t have any.
