From The Hill: On Tuesday, the top two Republicans in the Capitol took opposite stances responding to questions about the RNC’s resolution, underscoring their different approaches to both Jan. 6 and Trump.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) broke with the RNC over a resolution last week describing the Jan. 6 attack as “legitimate political discourse” and criticized the decision to censure GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) and Liz Cheney (Wyo.).

“It was a violent insurrection with the purpose of trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election. … That’s what it was,” McConnell said…

McConnell vocally criticized Trump over the Jan. 6 attack last year, accusing him of being “practically and morally responsible.” McConnell did not vote to convict Trump in his impeachment trial for inciting the riot, arguing the former president had already left office.

A member of GOP leadership told The Hill that they weren’t surprised by McConnell’s response generally, but they were surprised that he used the word “insurrection…”

The different remarks mirror the separate trails the two GOP leaders have walked when it comes to Trump.

McCarthy has aligned himself closely with the former president as he tries to win the Speaker’s gavel if Republicans take back the majority later this year.

McConnell, in contrast, largely avoids mentioning Trump, who routinely blasts the Kentucky senator in statements sent to the media.

It’s hardly the first time Jan. 6 has become a point of contention among Republicans.

My reply was directly to Mr. McConnell in the pray for our leaders section at IFA. I subtly addressed out of respect for God’s word, be gentle, yet reason and then correct…bad behavior. My approach was from an angle where his decision making most likely comes from…self preservation. I pray These prayers are really read by the intended recipient. God willing they do. But, it is one thing to lead a horse to water but we cannot make them drink. Pray, they drink from the wells of living water in these prayers rather than from their own cisterns full of poisonous things!

Unless the truth comes out about the 2020 election there will be no peace on either sides of the aisle in Congress. We are considered innocent until found guilty by a court hearing with all the evidence being brought forth.
May our leaders come to their sense for the sake of this nation.

Lord, I thank you for revealing more lies and political schemes this week. I see opened doors to the Capitol, strange steps in the investigation, withheld videos but only you know all truth Lord. Just like David, you are our Shepherd, too. Please guide the Republicans in the Senate to do what is best for America. Fill our Congressional seats with your choice of candidates. Give us wisdom in voting in spite of the zoo of messaging.

Thank you for revealing an email today from 7 or 8 years ago that should have been presented at an impeachment trial of the former president. It could have changed the narrative if it had been honestly disclosed and possibly the last election. The lack of consequences for government witness’s lying and misleading American citizens exposes how deep America is in a grave crises of morality. Help us live our faith everyday, everywhere in this life.

I repent for myself and my generation. Please forgive us and help us. Raise up a generation in government who honors you, Lord. Our political leaders are mired in self-interest and lust for power; we cannot make good decisions as citizens without your continued divine guidance, Lord. May the Republican leader in the Senate be the person you choose. May truth and integrity overcome every dark, behind the door scheme in our Congress. I ask in Jesus’ name for your Holy Spirit to permeate our Capital and sweep through America in a great Revival. Here we are Lord. The USA is your nation and now the mission field. Thank you, Lord. Amen
