NEW YORK TIMES INTERVIEW: FACT OR FICTION
Recently I received an email from a New York Times reporter requesting my answers to the following questions. [NOTE: his questions are in blue followed by my answers in black.]
It has been my personal experience that they are only looking for content to be able to spin to fit their pre-determined agenda. Lucky for us the only people who still read the New York Times are those who already believe that spin and agenda. But I thought it might be helpful for us to actually see the spin at work to know how to pray for the truth to come to light. After all, it is only in knowing the TRUTH that we can be set free. (John 8:32) Lord, Jesus, in these days of darkness, let Truth dispel the Lies.

Below is the message:
Reid,
I am curious as to your motives in incorrectly paraphrasing the problems with mail-in voting. “The main argument by Mr. Trump and other Republicans is threefold: Voting by mail is easier than going to the polls; more people will vote if the process is easier; and when larger numbers of people vote, more will vote for Democrats.” https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/10/us/politics/vote-by-mail.html Your purposed spin causes me to doubt your sincerity in seeking factually accurate information. Surely you are aware that this is NOT the main argument against mass mail-in voting. You completely sidestep the serious concerns regarding voter integrity and instead frame your words in such a way to allege as a factual reality that more Americans align with the Democrats than Republicans. This is seriously lacking in journalistic integrity.
Should you, however, decide to accurately disseminate truthful responses, see my answers below:
1) President Trump yesterday declined to commit to a peaceful transition of power IF he loses the election in November. Do you think he should make such a commitment? Your question does not present an accurate restatement of what occurred at the press conference. There was no “IF” in the reporter’s question, rather, it was presented as an assumed loss to which the President appropriately addressed his concerns about ballot integrity such that a transition of power would not even be relevant.
2) Do you think ballots should be counted if they are not recorded in the results on election night? This question includes major assumptions, such as why would this occur and whether the votes being counted are fraudulent. So, to accurately respond, those assumptions must be answered. In this day and age of electronic capabilities, what would occasion the inability of votes being calculated on election night? To illegitimately extend the count would set the stage for overturning a legitimate victory by bringing in additional votes that in the present mail-in election process could easily be manipulated and unverifiable. The only ballots that should be counted at any point, either during or after election night, are those that can be validated to have been made by properly registered voters. I recall a U.S. Senate election where early voting showed a loss to the Democrats so polls were illegally kept open only within heavily democrat precincts in order to offset the Republican victory: https://www.atmoreadvance.com/2000/12/13/ashcroft-sets-example-of-true-statesman/. Voter fraud is a real and legitimate concern and has become a perfected art within the Democratic Party: https://richmond.com/news/virginia/jmu-student-gets-100-120-days-in-prison-for-registering-dead-people-to-vote/article_577ec944-75ad-58d8-b706-d658c186cd57.html.
3) Are you concerned that Joe Biden will not accept the results of the November election? Absolutely, I am concerned. I am concerned that paid protesters proven to disregard any decorum for peaceful congregating will be directed to take to the streets like criminals, and that they are willing to stoop to any level to steal away the will of law-abiding American voters. Hillary Clinton publicly directed Biden to not concede defeat on the night of the Nov. 3 election — no matter the circumstances: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/hillary-clinton-joe-biden-should-not-concede-on-election-night. Why then are reporters not equally pushing this issue with Biden as they are with Trump? No prizes guessing why—it doesn’t fit within the narrative they are relentlessly trying to sell.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would see that my responses are accurately printed within the New York Times.
Thank you,
Cynthia
To any of our readers who still think that if I had actually responded, my above answers would have been printed in the New York Times without any spin, let me dispel that wishful thinking. That is why having platforms like IFA available for us to disseminate accurate information and engage in open discourse and even present dissenting positions is so hugely important. IFA grants a forum for one of the last great frontiers of journalistic integrity, affording open discourse and even public debate with decorum and mutual respect. We must pray that the upcoming election finds those in power who value protecting these unalienable rights.

God Bless you for your responses!!!!!
Excellent logical response. You call out the sleight of hand (or word) that the NYT uses to deceive and bias any answer that might be given. I do hope that you sent it in, regardless of whether or not it is published. At least it reaches the person who reads/censors such content. It gives evidence that the rest of the country is not supine before such tactics.
Excellent response, Cynthia!
My prayers are for the Lord’s will to be fulfilled in all the many different issues in our government, including the issue of a peaceful transition of power and the issue of ballots counted legally. Lord your will be done, not the government parties will, but yours. Amen
Arise and Shine Church, just as we witnessed a great multitude come to DC this weekend and multitudes view this call to prayer and repentance over the weekend, may the church continue to storm the gates of heaven for the cause of righteousness. Let us keep our focus upon the one who is able to oversee what we cannot and trust Him for the results. He is the Lord, Sabaoth and He leads His army to victory.
Lord I pray for the misguided, dishonest , deluded newspaper, the New York Times. It is obvious that their agenda is not in providing readers with honest, factual reporting. They are blatantly a cog in the wheel of the Fake News machinery. Please, Holy Spirit, convict these reporters, editors, and owners of the error of their ways. Please give them repentant hearts. I bind the spirit of deception that has entrenched this newspaper and their liberal agenda. I loose a spirit of honesty, integrity, and truth to prevail in all of their actions. I ask this in Jesus’s name.
I added, LORD, if the New York Times and the Washington Post simply can’t tell the truth, please “put them to bed” for a final time.
Putting a newspaper to bed is their parlance for finishing all of the work on the day’s or the edition’s paper; the next steps are printing and distribution.
WHEN it looked impossible Daniel stood in the lions den and relied on God. AND we all know the end. Thank you for representing factual reporting and alerting the intercessors to pray. We continue to block the deeds of darkness, calling for exposure and justice for our righteous leaders. Humbling ourselves before God and awaiting His decision. Glory to the Lord on High who is the righteous judge.
Lord, please confuse the strategy of the demonic realm fueling lies in the media. Make one lie prove another wrong until they kill each other and fall to the ground In Jesus name amen.
AMEN!!! We need to keep pressing on to fight the good fight against those principalities and power Jesus Christ has disarmed! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! Praise Him above al heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Spirit! AMEN
I pray the Voters go to vote in person, have very few mail in ballots. I pray thosr intending to commit fraud would Each be found out and Disqualified from voting prior to Election Night. Amen.
I know about voter fraud. During my deployment to Germany and Korea. I used mail in ballots. When I returned home. I found out that the person in charge of ballot collection was throwing aw at all republican ballots.
God bless you, Cynthia, for your truthful, well-worded, well-informed answers to this New York Times journalist. I pray they will be printed and read. I pray your truthful words convict this journalist’s heart and the heart of all its readers. I pray Truth will have the last say and win the day. We all know ultimately it will, but in the meantime we take a stand and wield it’s mighty sword.
Lord God, cause Your church to arise and be willing to speak truth to their neighbors. We ask for Your hand to guard over this election process and truth and integrity throughout the entire voting process. Give people the discernment, I pray, of the operations of our voting polls and may Your love and peace reign for the glory and honor of Your Son, Jesus. Bless this nation with a pouring out of Your Spirit and conviction of our need of accepting Jesus’ blood for the forgiveness of our national sins, as well as our individual sins. Prepare us for the day we stand before Your judgement seat and receive Your verdict. Help us love our neighbor into Your Kingdom for Jesus honor and glory.
