Conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh appear[ed] on “The Breakfast Club,” a nationally syndicated radio program that features discussions on progressive politics and black culture.

No. 3 is the correct answer and it was a fascinating moment. While it appeared that the hosts and Mr. Limbaugh were occasionally talking over each other, the conservative had to earn at least some respect with his forceful denunciation of the killing of George Floyd and his belief that the police officer who killed him should be charged with first-, not third-degree murder.

“The Breakfast Club” — hosted by DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Lenard Larry McKelvey, who is known professionally as Charlamagne tha God — focused mainly on what they called “white privilege” as the source of misery in much of the African-American community. Mr. Limbaugh countered that the three were examples of how one can overcome obstacles, including discrimination.

Charlamagne reiterated his accusation of white privilege and added “white supremacy.”

What is important in this continuing debate is not each “side” getting in its talking points but listening to how the other reached the conclusions that created their worldview.

Saying things that only reinforce one’s stereotypes and ideology doesn’t solve the problem, and who doubts there is a problem?

I have written this before, even recently, but the main problem is not only racism. It is that we don’t know each other. The late Republican Congressman Jack Kemp used to say that as a professional football player he had showered with more African-Americans than attend the Republican National Convention. Black people who knew him called him a friend.

Growing up in a virtually all-white Washington, D.C., suburb (a city that practiced segregation well into the 1960s), I didn’t know anyone of a different race, other than a family maid, until I began playing college basketball. Showering and eating meals with people who were “different” from me bridged a gap that no legislation could span. I came to see them as teammates, friends, equals and better players than me.

White people have enjoyed privilege from the beginning of the country in almost every category. This includes professional sports, which are now dominated by African-Americans, but for many years were not. I recently again watched the Ken Burns series “Baseball” on PBS and was reminded of how that sport (and others) banned black players from fields and courts simply because they were black. It is important for white people to acknowledge white privilege and this history of white supremacy before helpful and healing conversations can begin and race relations improved.

Mr. Limbaugh also made a political point the hosts were unable or unwilling to answer. He wondered why so many African-Americans continue to vote for Democrats when that party, he said, had done little to help them? Angela Yee responded with the stock answer that she votes for the person, not the party. She should have been asked, “When was the last time you voted for a Republican?”. . .

“The Breakfast Club” exchange was a good first step toward achieving that goal.

There is a movement to use racism as a means to divide people! White people were privileged during the past, but that is no longer the case. Many white people have not lived a so called “privileged” life! Some are less fortunate than many of other races. There are poor, less fortunate people of all races. In many cases, concerning getting jobs, white people come in last, whether they are the most qualified or not! If we really want an even playing field, we need to see that “ALL lives matter.” Wrongs were done to black people in the past, and I am sure some still are today, but to blame all white people or all policemen is wrong! Only the guilty party should be blamed and held accountable. We need to pray that eyes will be opened to this movement to divide people, and come together as human beings, not people of different races and backgrounds! God loves us ALL and sent Jesus to die for ALL regardless of race!

My husband and I are deeply grateful for and truly love Rush Limbaugh. He has throughout the decades on many occasions been a lonely voice speaking out and teaching conservative values. His bravery, brilliant articulation, success and unwavering advocacy for conservative values – which align with Biblical values – has paved the way for conservative news outlets. This work has been used mightily by God to give this country the hope we still have for rebuilding the foundations. God heal and be with this mighty warrior who is an example for all of us in bold courage for Truth!

Great question? Why do African-Americans continue to stay on the PLANTATION aka demoncratic party??? Because they are stuck. They voted for obama for the wrong reason regardless of his platform which they didn’t have a clue what he stood for, just that “he’s black”. He did NOTHING for the African Americans. However, he kicked racism back 40yrs. I left the PLANTATION years ago because they are oppressive, & they are against God’s WORD. Same-sex marriage, abortions & they booed God off of their platform. Sadly many Christian’s are totally ignorant of this and/or choose to ignore these facts. They hate President Trump they can’t say why but, use the lame lie that he’s “racist”! I tell them “no” you are racist. An elder at the church I use to attend told the congregation to “vote in 2020 caucus demoncrat like they did for obama”. I was appalled. They are stuck on the PLANTATION. They choose to be & then want to scream “White privilege” that is called transference & is absolutely appalling. Where is the outrage at the constant black on black crimes in Chiraq/Chicago? Total hypocrisy.

AMEN! I was disappointed to hear the Breakfast Clubs reaction to the exchange as a ‘Waste if time’.

Racism and bigotry is a Two Way Street. The street is a good place when we affirm God’s presence and an ugly place when He’s not.

The human race is His creation! The division and government mandated or defined differences is the work of Satan. His methods to separate and cause us to focus of DIFFERENCES is the vine of conflict not peace, love nor compassion.

Ron don’t be. It’s typical. Unless you agree with their total NONSENSICAL ideals, you are against them. It’s a choice & they are completely comfortable in their “victim” mentality. ⛓ on their brains.

We say “No!” in the Name of Jesus to division and hatred. Father, I pray that you would unite us under your Son, Jesus. I pray that You would prompt we who are comfortable in our enclaves to get out, reach out, and befriend those who are different from us in thought and appearance. We say “Yes!” to You and “Yes!” to neighborliness, contributing to our communities outside of church and becoming salt and light in new, uncomfortable ways.

Father, may we put aside our pride and listen to others. Give us love and forgiveness. Give us patience. Give us faith knowing you are restoring in your love. May we be faithful to pray and speak your love into the lives of others that deception and hatred may be banished, replaced by love for you and our fellow man.

I would like to interject and point to “predjuduce” (the preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience) and “class”, (the system of ordering a society in which people are divided into sets based on perceived social or economic status) is at the root of our issues. All distorted from eating of the ‘Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil’.

“All Lives Matter” is Jesus the Christ’s slogan, we can only reach a solution when we can address our need for undeserved Love collectively. The Flesh out of control attempting to self govern CAN NOT accomplish the Peaceful and Just end everyone desires.

As the scriptures rightly point out “All men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” so if “judgment comes first to the household of God, what will become of the Godless man and the sinner? ”

There are many ‘talking heads’ with deception spewing forth, in the media and social media, confusion all around. And there is only one prince of the power of the air.

Pride is at the Root of Prejudice & Class, and Pride’s other children are Arrogance, Self Righteousness, Condescension, Self Determination, and the grandchildren are many. (Greed, Hatred, Bitterness, Descension, Division).

Subsequently Pride is a state of confusion about Truth. The Truth about God, Human Race, and Life. A twisting of all things. We must allow God to unwise us, the Church first, in I rder to take the speck out of anothers eye.

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. 1John 1:5‭-‬10
