I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for reconciliation and hearts that are hungry for You as we seed the clouds to see change.
Reading Time: 4 minutes

The atmosphere is ripe for conflict. It hangs thick in the air like a fog–a predator just waiting to be unleashed. But I believe there is a strategy that will not only hold it, but push it back.

Most of us watch the news or look around our city as riots rage, police are pelted, and peaceful protesters are hurt or killed.

Most of us recognize the difference between the peaceful protesters (who are speaking up about an issue that is an issue in America) and the rioters who are activists with an agenda to cause harm, destruction, and chaos. The latter is the spirit of which I speak. We have the authority to quell the conflict in the spiritual realm as we form a wall not only with prayer, but with praise and the Word.

We need to “seed the clouds” to change the atmosphere.

“Cloud-seeding” is the colloquial term for launching chemicals into clouds via rockets, accelerating the creation of ice crystals that eventually become rain. It is a practice that has been used often by China to produce rainfall, but also by many other countries who have experienced severe seasons of drought. They shoot missiles into the atmosphere to bring the needed change.

I believe that should be our strategy to change the atmosphere of rage and chaos in our land as we shoot up “missiles” of praise, worship, and declarations of the Word of God.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Heb 4:12).

Where has this strategy been used in the past?

  • In the beginning God spoke and the world was created. (Gn 1)
  • In biblical times, singers and musicians of praise were sometimes the front line of the battle. (2 Chr 20, Jo 6)
  • Jesus spoke to the storm, “Peace, Be still.” (Mk 4:36-41)

In ancient times, a vast army from three different groups marched against God’s people intent on destroying them. The Israelites fasted, prayed, and cried out to God.

“Lord we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chr 20:12)

We face the same dilemma as the riots rage, COVID-19 has continued and the National Guard has been called into several states to take control. Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You!

The result in biblical times as the people “seeded the clouds” with worship was miraculous.

And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. Then the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high.  After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another (2 Chr 20:17-19 & 21-23).

Praise and the Word are our weapons. This is how we are to fight our battles.

On the National Day of Prayer, I participated in a call for the Bible to be read aloud in one day across our nation. Each state was given a section to read. I didn’t know if anyone else in my state was participating and so I read the entire section for Oklahoma aloud that day.

When I was finished, not only did I recognize that I had helped change the atmosphere, but it had changed me. I determined from that day on for my daily Bible reading to be done aloud. Additionally, I often go outside and sit on my porch as I read to declare it into the atmosphere.

Why does this matter? Because the Word of God is a powerful force that will accomplish what it is sent forth to do. Our job is to give voice to it.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (Is 55:10-11).

Will you join me in seeding the clouds and changing the atmosphere of chaos in our nation to praise for peace?

If you would like to make this an ongoing strategy in your life, we have a Bible reading schedule that will take you through the year to read aloud. If you simply want to participate in an immediate atmosphere changing action, will you begin to pray out from the Psalms or wherever the Lord leads you. Follow it with praise and prayer for our nation.

CLICK HERE FOR THE BIBLE READING SCHEDULE.

Isaiah 55:12-13 tells us the end result of the activated Word of God: You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever  (Is 55:12-13).

As we pray for the rioting to stop, let us not lose focus that there is a deeper issue that God is working in our nation–revival that transforms hearts. We don’t just want to see peace in our land. We want to see removal not only of racism, but also of perversion, humanism, and pride. Let us pray for reconciliation and hearts that are hungry for Him as we seed the clouds to see change.

Thank you for your message. The reading today from the “Pray for America Bible” in Proverbs 16:32 is “Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.” God bless His word in our cities.

Love, love, love it!!! I read and reread, to make sure I got every bit of it. I so agree with this article!
Several years ago, I typed out and printed a page, front and back, of scriptures, and although I set it down for awhile, several months ago, I picked it back up. I pray and declare these scriptures at night==mostly on the sovereignty of God, that He is over the nations–let not the rebellious exalt themselves, He is our Refuge, etc. Then I will expand on those ones in prayer that seem to be needed so much at the time. I know the Lord led me to do this. I hear about the need for this from others, including this article. So, I know He is leading us in His battle plan for this time!!! Hallelujah! We pick up our swords!

This is a great article, Karen! We so often forget the power of the Word of God that is in our mouth and in our heart (Romans 10:8)! Declaring our faith leads to our salvation, and declaring the message of the Gospel leads to salvation for those who will hear & believe. I agree with you that declaring the truth of God’s Word and His righteousness will definitely shift the atmosphere in our nation! we need revival now more than ever, and God is faithful; He will bring the Great Awakening and the change in people’s hearts that we desire to see!

I love this. The story of Jehoshaphat is among my favorites–sending the praise team out ahead of the army and gaining the victory. In fact as when for my daily walk today, I was singing praises the entire time. This is exactly what is needed to combat all the hate and vitriol the enemy is spewing forth. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Thank you, Jesus!!

Years ago I marched down Main Street in Memphis, TN. in a parade honoring Jesus. It was glorious but only one time was it held. As we walk through our own locals we could praise Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Karen, I give praise to Father God and thanks to you for writing this article. It is an awesome, God send confirmation of a battle plan placed in my heart several years ago. The one and same 2 Chr 20 battle you have referenced is the one and same given to me. I was clearly told the problem is not there’s too much darkness; rather, there isn’t enough light. When the light of God’s Word hits darkness, it will inevitably meet with its destruction. Changing the atmosphere is our solution. Host of heaven be with all as we unite on one accord and strategically seed the clouds–NSEW–area by area—hour by hour. In Jesus’ name it is done.

Isaiah 55:10-12…”For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it. You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.…”
Perhaps we seed the clouds of hate by the release of PRAISE and THANKSGIVING into the atmosphere.

During the early 70’s I remember learning many scriptures that were set to music and that’s how I could remember them. As I read Isaiah 55:12, the tune came back to me instantly and it made me smile and gave me hope to say, “YES,” I must begin doing this again!!!” So I began to sing the Word!! PTL

This reminds me of the Word I heard yesterday in prayer: Ephesians 2:2 – which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,…

This article has given me insight into other ways to intercede. Thank you.

Theocracy: Every government is predicated on precepts that reflect their world view, which by definition is a religious foundation::
Merriam-Webster: re·li·gion /rəˈlijən/ noun
1. a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance.
The USA government is predicated on Old Testament laws, tempered with the New Testament principles of Jesus! After Reagan’s term in office, their was a divergence from a Jesus centered Theocracy to a man centered official government approved religion called Humanism, followed by a further divaricating into the religion of Atheism, Socialism, homosexuaIism, and even Mid Eastern religion. However Jesus being the foundation of our “Constitutional Republic” & even the “Federalist Papers,” we must return to our original theocracy, where the government/state is divided from the 1st Amendment power of the church [the real Thomas Jefferson of division of Church & State]. A return to a government centered in the creator of the universe, which is Jesus, the highest form of governing in the world [far above all others], which made America the number one economy on the earth, that is until the religion of Humanism eclipsed it, and we began the downward cycle of entropy, fast becoming 3rd world county. Now we have an apostle in the white house and a hope [a spiritual excitement and expectation greatness again] of returning to Jesus as a nation.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. From John Adams to Massachusetts Militia, 11 October 1798
The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.1 John Adams

“…A return to a government centered in the creator of the universe, which is Jesus, the highest form of governing…”

Oh so true. A great many do not realize the governmental system was established by God. Our report of Isaiah 9:6 informs us the government is upon the shoulder of our Savior. Just as truly as the shoulder is beneath the head, the government is beneath Christ, who is head of all things.

Many of us have erred in putting our trust in our Constitution instead of the Word of God. Neither Satan nor his demonic force are subject to our Constitution. The WOG is the only thing to which they must bow.

Yea, let us return with God force and speed.

One sunny day, long ago i witnessed a large group of Christians in a Latin American country peacefully having a Jesus Parade down a main road.. There is a long banner in front saying simply “We love Jesus”. It was simple and profound. sporatic worship and praise songs breaking out… All kinds of Jesus followers walking together joy-filled … Simply beautiful.

I’ve been praying that this will happen all over the United States. Just simply honoring the King of kings and Lord of lords publically. No hidden agendas. Just grateful hearts for what our Lord has done for us. It’s a parade that all are invited to, we just would have to join in

Thank you for this!!
Just yesterday I imagined large numbers of people gathered in the cities of protest, loudly playing and singing the song “I Raise a Hallelujah”. What an impact this could have in the midst of the violence. It would be so wonderful to see such a movement come together. As important as it is to pray from our homes, a public display carries such huge significance on earth and in the heavenly realms. If any of you have strong connections to true churches in these areas please let me know. I’d love to share the idea.

Heavenly Father, In Jesus’ Name thank you for Brothers and Sister like Karen Hardin. Thank you for inspiring me and pointing me in the right direction. I am so glad to know what is the most effective way to be “Salt and Light” in the world. Since I committed to read the Bible through this year I have experienced change in my thinking for the good. I also see it reflected in people around me as I relate to them with more of the Holy Spirit controlling my words and actions. Oh yes, there is power in Your Word, Lord. I pray that Christians around the world will feed more and more on Your Word. I praise and thank you ten thousand times for Your Word, Lord. It is more precious than silver or gold. Oh, Lord, let all know real joy of worshipping and praising You. How glorious to seed the clouds to rain down Your blessing on all. Amen
