From Inflow to Outflow: DHS Unwinds Biden’s Migrant Benefits
A Department of Homeland Security agency says it is unwinding Biden-era immigration benefits, from Temporary Protected Status to automatic work permit renewals, in a push to restore integrity to the legal immigration system.

From Breitbart:
A little-known agency within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has ended a myriad legal giveaways to 2.2 million migrants welcomed by President Joe Biden.
The withdrawal of the legal giveaways allows the department’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to overcome the army of elite-funded pro-migration lawyers who are trying to minimize deportations.
…
Under Biden, the agency served as a rubber stamp for illegal migrants, criminals, low-wage employers, and the Democratic Party’s urban machines. For example, Biden’s USCIS helped millions of illegal migrants by approving millions of work permits, Social Security Numbers, Temporary Protected Status, and the vital green cards that provide migrants with legalized residency.
In an Oct. 29 statement, DHS said U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is working to reverse the downstream effects of the Biden border crisis, on top of the State Department’s visa revocations and denials and deportations carried out by ICE. The department listed five priorities: ending the misuse of Temporary Protected Status so it is truly temporary again, denying requests to extend or change status when there is no legal basis, issuing Notices to Appear to place removable migrants before an immigration judge, ending the automatic extension of work permits so every applicant is screened before renewal, and terminating categorical parole programs in favor of the case-by-case review Congress intended.
The changes carry real consequences. When USCIS ends a group’s Temporary Protected Status, its members lose their work permits and can be returned home, as Breitbart notes is happening with many Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio. The agency has also restored security reviews and fact checks on work permits, visas, green cards, and citizenship, and Breitbart reports it has cut citizenship approvals in half while conducting checks abandoned under the previous administration. The outlet says the agency faces fierce opposition from pro-migration lawyers, judges, and advocacy groups, though DHS attorneys have repeatedly prevailed in court.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said President Trump promised Americans their immigration laws would be enforced and warned that those who abuse the system “are now on notice.” He added that securing the border was only the first step, and the administration is now working to restore integrity across the entire immigration system.
Let’s pray for Secretary Mullin and USCIS leaders as they carry out this work, that every application would be vetted thoroughly and every decision made according to the law, not political pressure. Let’s pray that judges would uphold the laws Congress has written rather than rewriting them from the bench, and that fraud and abuse would be exposed wherever they hide. Let’s pray for the safety of American communities that have absorbed the strain of mass migration. And let’s pray for the migrants affected by these decisions, that God would meet them in their uncertainty and that churches would show them the love of Christ, wherever they end up.
