I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray that both mainstream parties in America would come to once again love and protect Your people and Your nation. We pray for pro-Israel candidates to win this year's elections.

Democrats’ long hold on Jewish voters may be slipping, and a new McLaughlin & Associates poll suggests that people of faith more broadly are siding with the party that has worked to win them over.

From Breitbart:

The poll found that 64 percent of Jewish voters backed Republicans for Congress, while 33 percent supported Democrats, pollsters John and Jim McLaughlin wrote in an article published by the firm Monday.

…

There have also been signs of a narrower Democrat advantage among Jewish voters in New York. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said this month that the party’s lead among Jewish voters on the House ballot in the state had dropped from 49 points in 2022 to 13 points this year.

The McLaughlin poll also looked at congressional preferences among other religious groups. Protestants favored Republicans 51 percent to 43 percent, and Catholics narrowly backed the GOP, 48 percent to 46 percent. Evangelical Christians, who overlap with other Christian categories, favored Republicans 56 percent to 37 percent.

Much of that erosion traces back to the Democratic Party itself. Enten pointed to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist whose positions on Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu don’t line up with many Jewish New Yorkers, and put Mamdani’s net favorability among Jewish voters at minus 23. Nationally, Democrats have elevated a number of strident Israel critics in this year’s primaries. In one recent survey, 57% of Jewish voters said antisemitism is increasing within the Democratic Party. Meanwhile, the McLaughlin poll found secular and unaffiliated voters favoring Democrats 51% to 43%.

Trump and his allies, by contrast, have courted people of faith openly. The McLaughlins credit him with forging a powerful alliance with Protestants, Catholics, and other religious voters on his way to victory in 2024. Early in his second term, he rebranded the White House Faith Office and placed it in the West Wing for the first time. He also created a task force to root out anti-Christian bias and established the Religious Liberty Commission. The McLaughlins argue that congressional Republicans now need to reconnect with religious voters and give them a compelling reason to turn out.

Still, the realignment isn’t settled. Other surveys this year show most Jewish voters still backing Democrats, including one that found 67% plan to vote Democratic in the midterms. The McLaughlin Jewish result rests on only about 40 respondents, and Republicans’ leads among Catholics and Protestants trail Trump’s 2024 margins by wide gaps. With Election Day less than a week away, the opportunity is real, but it isn’t guaranteed.

God promised Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you” (Genesis 12:3). Let’s pray that any party that tolerates hostility toward the Jewish people will repent, and that our nation will stand firmly against antisemitism in every form. Let’s pray that leaders who have welcomed people of faith will honor that trust with policies that protect life, family, and religious liberty, and not merely court believers at election time. And let’s pray that Christians across America turn out this Tuesday and vote their convictions, so that this moment of opportunity is not wasted.
