I Prayed have prayed
Heavenly Father, we thank You for life, for the lives of Your most prized creation from the womb to the tomb. We pray, Lord Jesus, that every person in this nation recognizes the preciousness and sanctity of life and that we are made in Your image each with a distinct plan and purpose. I pray in Jesus' mighty name that abortion becomes completely unthinkable in this land and around the entire world. In Your precious name we pray, Amen.

Where are we in the fight for life in America right now? This is a heavy, but necessary, question. It has been four years since the Dobbs case and the overturning of Roe v. Wade at the Supreme Court of the United States. We, as believers in Christ, rejoiced in this victory.

I, along with my 16-year-old son at the time, rejoiced when we heard the news. Derek Prince, one of the founders of IFA, had a large part in establishing IFA in response to Roe, and I believe he is now in the great cloud of witnesses celebrating with us at its overturning. I initially, and naively, thought the battle was largely won.

We did see many states adopt abortion bans—13, to be exact. These include Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

Beyond these 13 states with total bans, many other states enforce strict limits based on gestational age. Several states restrict abortion at or around six weeks of pregnancy. Roughly 40 states have established some form of gestational threshold or restriction on abortion later in pregnancy.

Georgia even has a personhood provision under the Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act. The LIFE Act legally defines a natural person to include an unborn child with a detectable heartbeat, which impacts other areas of state law, such as tax dependents and child support.

While we have seen these amazing victories in the fight for life, we have also seen egregious laws being passed that remove statutory gestational limits on abortion. The following states have no statutory gestational limits on abortion: Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, and Vermont. Washington, D.C., also has no statutory gestational limit on abortion.

The argument for abortion was always centered around viability—the point at which a baby could potentially survive outside the womb. Yet, modern-day laws in the aforementioned states allow abortion later in pregnancy, including very late in pregnancy, while lawmakers and advocates describe these laws as protections for pregnant women who may find themselves facing a medical emergency. What happened to the viability argument?

At the Pennsylvania March for Life this past Monday, a group of OB-GYNs stood on the event stage and proclaimed that, in their medical judgment, there is never a need to intentionally take the life of a baby in the late stages of pregnancy to save the life of the mother. Imagine the number of women who have been led to believe that intentionally ending the life of their unborn child may be medically necessary to save their own lives.

It raises an important question: Under what circumstances would a late-term medical emergency involving the mother require intentionally ending the life of the baby? Isn’t that what procedures such as a cesarean section are intended to accomplish, to save both baby and mother?

Another insidious and vile gateway for abortions is through the abortion pill. Even in states where abortion is banned, this death pill can be ordered and mailed across state lines. H.R. 9421, The Ban Abortion by Mail Act, was introduced in Congress on June 24, 2026, to prohibit healthcare providers from prescribing the abortion pill mifepristone via telehealth without an in-person visit and a valid medical license in the patient’s resident state.

Senator Josh Hawley shared recently during a religious rally, to promote prayer and getting people out to vote, that 1 in 10 women have to go to the emergency room with a life-threatening condition due to Mifepristone. 95-98% of unborn babies die as a result of the abortion drug when taken by pregnant women.

Hawley has also raised concerns about the potential for abortion drugs to be obtained and secretly administered to women without their knowledge or consent. That possibility raises an especially disturbing issue: the potential for these medications to be used against abused women, forcing the abortion of the innocent baby inside of them.

Missouri will see the Amendment 3 Initiative on the ballot this November to protect life and stop transgender surgeries. This amendment would repeal abortion as a constitutional right. It would also prohibit abortions except in cases of “medical emergency, fetal anomaly, rape, or incest” and permit abortions in cases of rape or incest only through 12 weeks of gestation.

It would also prohibit gender transition surgeries for minors, as well as the prescription or administration of cross-sex hormones or puberty-blocking drugs to minors, with an exception for treatments “unrelated to the purpose of a gender transition,” and make other changes. We pray that the vote for this Amendment is overwhelmingly in its favor.

Hawley stated that the primary maker of the abortion pill is a company called Danco Laboratories, which was initially funded by George Soros. It is funded by a group of people from an entity called The Population Council. The people who started this company think that people are ruining this planet. They believe that the fewer children we have, the better, and that people are essentially a parasite on this planet. It is based in the Cayman Islands. Their board is private. They will not release their financials. Their entire industry is geared toward killing American babies and doesn’t want regular oversight from the FDA.

Intercessors from across this nation joined together in prayer for the abortion-pill case argued on September 9 at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. The case is State of Louisiana v. FDA, and the lawsuit challenges the FDA’s 2023 changes to the mifepristone REMS, including the removal of the in-person dispensing requirement and allowing the medication to be prescribed through telehealth and dispensed through other authorized channels.

We are prayerfully awaiting the court’s ruling, trusting God and praying that the FDA’s actions will ultimately be overturned.

It is heartbreaking, but not surprising, that the value of human life has become so deeply contested in our nation. When God is removed from our schools and other institutions, and children are taught primarily from a secular humanist perspective, what foundation are we giving them for understanding the inherent value and dignity of every human life?

How can we be surprised when life is viewed as disposable or not valuable? The idea that certain human beings can be regarded as less than fully human is not a new concept. History has shown us the devastating consequences of dehumanization. Think of how the Nazis viewed Jewish people, or how enslaved people throughout history were treated as less than human.

When we begin to devalue human life, history has shown us where that road can lead. Every human life has inherent dignity and worth, and as Christians, we know that worth comes from our Creator. That is why we must continue to pray, speak truth, and stand courageously for the protection of innocent life.

This devaluation of human life, the numbness to millions and millions of babies being killed in the womb, and the defense of abortion later in pregnancy have created a culture in which the value of human life is increasingly questioned.

We have seen this tragedy play out in cases such as Lindsay Clancy’s, where three innocent children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—lost their lives. We have also seen other heartbreaking cases, including the Corie Walsh case, and reportedly others as well.

What is so deeply troubling is the lack of widespread outrage over the deaths of these innocent children. In the Clancy case, there have even been people publicly defending Lindsay Clancy or directing blame toward her husband, Patrick, rather than keeping the focus on the three children who lost their lives. Patrick himself has spoken publicly against those claims, calling them harmful and a distraction from what matters.

We should never lose sight of the value of innocent human life. Cora, Dawson, and Callan were precious children whose lives mattered. Their deaths should move us to compassion, truth, and a renewed commitment to protecting the dignity and value of every human life.

“Woe to those who call good evil and evil good, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)

The fight for life is most assuredly an epic spiritual battle. Evil and false gods demand the shedding of innocent blood. Jesus shed His precious blood for us and, in Holy Communion, says, “This is My body, broken for you.” The enemy tries to mock our Lord at every turn. He hates us because we are God’s most prized creation.

The level of evil in this nation feels overwhelming, with the evil one seemingly no longer hiding, but instead with ideas and actions that are deeply contrary to God’s will being defended and, in some cases, reflected in our laws. It is beyond comprehension to me how anyone can defend the killing of babies at any stage, let alone late in pregnancy or near birth. It is unfathomable that women would rally around a woman who was convicted of killing her three children. Sexual immorality and promiscuity have contributed to this brokenness as well. We would have fewer unwanted pregnancies if we pursued holy and stable marriages rather than fornication.

So often lately, I find myself feeling the heaviness of all the evil surrounding us and struggling to see how the Lord will work it all out. But He will work it out—in and through us, His people. He will send His high-ranking angels to confront evil, bring courage and hope to His people, raise up workers for the harvest field, and strengthen us so that we never back down.

The Pennsylvania March for Life was my first-ever march, and I want to attend every one that I can. But what I want more than anything is for there to come a day when there is no longer a need for such marches. I want, just as was prayed at the march, for abortion to become unthinkable—for every woman to have the support she needs to carry her baby to term, raise that precious child in love, and teach that child to know Jesus as their Savior.

I saw multitudes of young people at the March for Life. My spirit rejoiced as I looked across that sea of people and saw thousands from the younger generations boldly and courageously praying and marching on behalf of the unborn.

This is the post-Roe generation. May we see a day when abortion is no longer accepted, and may we continue to work and pray for the protection of unborn children, the support of mothers, and the dignity of every human life, both across this nation and around the world.

Father, we know Your heart breaks as you see the murder of your innocent and beautiful babies. Lord, we do not deserve your mercy, but we are asking for it and for your forgiveness, and we repent for the shedding of innocent blood. Please show us what we can and ought to do to abolish abortion, and then don’t let us have one moment of peace unless we do it. Oh Lord, restore the family. Please take out the evil-causing people to commit perverse acts and restore holiness, purity, and righteousness. Please, Lord, make abortion unthinkable. We ask You for a righteous ruling in the abortion pill case in Louisiana. Change the hearts of every man and woman who thinks abortion is acceptable. It is absolutely a violation of your holy ordinance. We ask for protection and provision for every pregnancy center that honors You and seeks to protect life. We ask You to bring the Holy Spirit’s conviction on every abortionist and stop them in their tracks. We ask that every woman contemplating an abortion hear her baby’s cries and instead choose life. We pray that they will have all the help they need to give birth and raise the child, and that the church will be the source of that help. We need Your help, and we humbly ask You for it. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, Holy Father. We pray all of this in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
