The leftist Boston Globe called the law a “legislative win” for the governor in her bid for re-election.

As a Christian and born-and-bred resident of Massachusetts (MA), I am heartbroken. The law was passed overwhelmingly in the MA legislature – 119 to 33. It is so hard for me to imagine that a vast majority of my fellow MA citizens are okay with this.

No Medical Need for this Wicked Law

Like most blue states, Massachusetts already allows ‘no questions asked’ abortions up to six months. Babies born at this age can survive outside the womb.

MA’s prior law even allowed abortions after 6 months if, in the “best” medical judgment of the physician, a third-trimester abortion was medically necessary to preserve the life or physical and mental health of the mother.

In addition, third-trimester abortions were also allowed in cases of a lethal fetal anomaly — meaning the baby wouldn’t survive birth or die shortly after.

And in a savage eugenics undercurrent that runs rampant through the pro-abortion lobby, if the baby will have health problems or a disability that requires medical interventions, a less-than-perfect child could be aborted in the third trimester.

Governor Healey insists the new law protects women. From what? Under the prior law, a woman could obtain an abortion in the final trimester under the state’s wide and broad medical circumstances. Most likely, wider than the road to Hell.

There was no medical need for this new Massachusetts law.

So why did MA lawmakers rush to pass a law even more extreme and wicked than the current one that allowed for an abortion for any reason up to six months, and after six months? Just get a note from your doctor.

3 Big Lies to Pass this Killing Bill

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (John 8:44)

While I don’t think MA’s leftist politicians needed much of a push or an excuse to pass this radical and demonic abortion-until-birth bill, they still wrapped their reasons up in three made-up problems the law would “solve.”

Lie # 1: Women are being denied medically appropriate care in MA

The Governor claims that she’s protecting women who receive devastating news of pregnancy complications late in their pregnancy. But, under the prior law, these complications would already allow for a third-trimester abortion.

Abortion supporters say that doctors are forced to follow a narrow list of exceptions to determine if a third-trimester abortion is needed. The list in the prior law was open to incredibly broad interpretation.

For instance, the “right” doctor could prescribe a third-trimester abortion as a mental health issue, i.e., the mother is anxious about giving birth or is simply not mentally ready to have a baby. Most fatal fetal diagnoses or birth defects are found much earlier in a pregnancy. Yet the prior law allows for abortions in the third trimester if such defects or disabilities are found later in pregnancy.

This new law swept away what low guardrails existed to protect babies in the last trimester by removing the requirement for any maternal or fetal condition to be present. Instead of medical judgment, it is now the professional judgment with no gestational limit.

Also, eliminated from the prior law is any medical review or questioning of the doctor’s “judgment” in recommending a third-trimester abortion.

Lie #2: We must protect the doctor-patient relationship

The governor also says, “We believe health care decisions should be made between women and their doctors – not the government.” Again, the prior law ensures that this is the case.

But according to MA Citizens for Life, “Legalizing elective abortion up to birth on healthy mothers and healthy, pain-capable unborn children is not about protecting the doctor-patient relationship. It is about abortionists normalizing the deaths of fully-developed infants and pressuring vulnerable women to permit their unborn children to die in heinous acts of violence.”

I heartily agree, especially after learning that 60% of women are coerced into having an abortion, according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, a pro-life science and research organization. So this new law is in effect forcing women to have abortions they don’t want.

Massachusetts politicians, however, are telling us they want to allow doctors to end the lives of pain-capable children who can survive delivery whenever they suspect the child will be less than perfect.

Lie # 3: Women are being forced to leave the state to get their abortions

Gov. Healey believes it’s not fair for women to have to travel hundreds of miles to another state and pay out-of-pocket for their travel expenses and abortion. Oh, the tragedy! But with this new law, they can go right down the street to their own cozy hospital or abortion clinic. Except the prior abortion law covers medical complications in the third trimester.

MA joins nine other states — Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, New Jersey, New Mexico, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, and Vermont, as well as Washington, D.C., legalizing abortion-until-birth. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Massachusetts has seen a swell in women from out of state who are traveling to MA to get their abortions.

Now, with the lifting of the 24-week ban, the baby-killing business is sure to boom in the Bay State. Third-trimester abortions can cost anywhere from $3,000 to $25,000, according to Dr. Ingrid Skop, Director of Medical Affairs at the Charlotte Lozier Institute.

Is the governor truly protecting women with this unnecessary law? Or is she simply trying to boost business for her biggest supporter, whose PAC spends big bucks to get her elected? I’m talking, of course, about Planned Parenthood.

Governor Healey Promotes the Demonic

For pro-abortion fanatics like Governor Healey and the vast majority of MA legislators, a pesky problem in the prior law remained. What if a doctor said there was no medical reason for a woman to abort in the third trimester?

‘Oh no. We can’t allow that!”, protests the governor and her minions in the legislature.

The 24-week ban (six-month gestational age) was called “harmful” and “arbitrary.” The ACLU of MA said not being able to kill your baby at any gestational age is a civil rights violation.

The main problem with the prior law, in my opinion, is that a woman needed a medical reason – no matter how flimsy – from a doctor.

But Governor Healey ensured a woman needs no reason at all to kill a healthy unborn baby. This law finally puts to rest the biggest lie of all… abortion is healthcare.

This heinous law now allows for abortions at any time, for any reason, based on the professional (not medical) judgment of the doctor.

Abby Johnson, a former abortion clinic director and now CEO of And Then There Were None, pushes back on the lie that these third-trimester abortions only happen under difficult medical circumstances. “I can tell you firsthand, as a former abortion clinic director, it’s just not true,” she said.

No More Hospital Requirements

Another “problem” with the prior law was that women were required to have their third-trimester abortions in a hospital with emergency equipment available. Gov. Healey, at the signing, claimed she cared about women’s health, and her opponents do not. But does she?

The new law removes that requirement and allows for late-term abortions to be performed at abortion clinics, with most having no capability to deal with complications or allow for follow-up checkups. This will make the late-term procedure even more risky. It’s doubtful that the procedures in abortion clinics are performed by your average OB/GYN doctor.

Because leftists play politics with abortion, very little oversight from state public health departments and medical boards exists in blue states.

According to Dr. Ingrid Skop, Director of Medical Affairs at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the CDC documents that a woman is 76 times more likely to die from complications following an abortion around viability than an abortion at 8 weeks.

Complications may occur due to uterine perforation, rupture, retained fetal parts, or placenta, which can lead to infection or sepsis. Death may occur during the late abortion procedure due to hemorrhaging, an embolism, or anesthetic complications.

European studies reveal a woman is nearly six times more at risk of committing suicide in the year following an abortion. The risk is even higher in women who experience late or coerced abortions. Many women experience guilt, shame, and grief, and suffer from emotional, psychological, and physical trauma.

None of these risks appear to bother Governor Healey and her rabid abortion supporters.

Planned Parenthood of MA calls a third-trimester compassionate care. Reproductive Equity Care praises MA for leading with compassion. Where is the concern and the compassion for the health and life of the mother? And…

Where’s Compassion for the Baby?

There is no compassion for the baby in an abortion, but especially in a third-trimester abortion, where the killing is brutal and unnecessary. Babies are considered viable at the “arbitrary” gestational age of 24 weeks. Babies have even survived at 21 weeks.

Most likely, a baby delivered at six months will be born alive. But we can’t have that in MA. So, a living baby is violently murdered in the womb.

Potassium chloride is injected into the amniotic sac or directly into the baby’s heart to cause a heart attack. The baby is then cut into smaller pieces and removed in fragments from the uterus. It’s barbaric and incredibly painful for the baby, and unborn babies can feel pain at 12 weeks.

Later-term abortions are an unnecessary procedure. The safest medical path for both mother and baby is delivery.

The Left claims that the woman who chooses a third-trimester abortion is grieving and loves her severely afflicted baby. If so, humanity and compassion for both the mother and baby would certainly be expressed in the safe delivery of a baby to be cradled in the loving and warm embrace of his or her mother, instead of being barbarically ripped apart in the womb.

And if the baby is healthy, is it truly so difficult to wait to deliver in 3 months or less and place the child for adoption?

Perhaps the answers to these questions are why just 10% of Americans support allowing abortion through nine months, according to a Harvard-Harris poll.

Studies have documented that the reasons women give for late abortions are similar to the ones given for early abortions – social or financial concerns, coercion by a partner or a parent, or indecision. And 86% of women who have abortions at any stage are unmarried, and many are abandoned by their partners.

This new abortion law, which withdraws all restrictions on late-term abortions, will force many women to have abortions they don’t really want.

I believe many women in MA are being told the abortionist’s lies and given bad advice as to what their options are in delivering their child. Thankfully, Pregnancy Resource Centers outnumber abortion clinics by 3 to 1. We must earnestly pray that these women find a Pregnancy Center and receive the support they need to choose life for their babies.

The Spiritual Toll of Abortion on the Nation

God is very clear… we are not to shed innocent blood. Abortion violates God’s command – no matter the reason or excuse for the abortion. It’s rare for an abortion to be medically necessary – less than 2% — yet we as a nation have made it commonplace.

Human life is sacred because we are created by God and made in His image. (Genesis 1:7) Every cell within us proclaims His glory. Every life is created to tell God’s story.

Since the overturning of Roe v Wade in 2022, abortions have increased in the U.S. – 1.126 million in the US in 2025, a 21% increase since 2020. As abortion flourishes in our nation – 66 million and rising – our country is rejecting God as creator and rebelling against the precious gift of life.

More reasons to abort are increasing. Down syndrome babies are aborted. Babies who may face health challenges in life, even minor disabilities, are aborted. Babies who are the “wrong” sex, or are one too many, are aborted. We see these “unwanted” babies as lesser than and not deserving of life, or eugenically inferior. Our nation is forgetting the dignity and value of human life.

Is it any wonder that senseless violence is increasing across America, when the country allows a senseless and violent end to over a million babies every year?

Abortion is Satan’s oldest lie from Genesis – you will be like God – determining life and death. Allowing such sin opens the doors to even more sin as the nation rejects God’s authority. God does not take kindly to those who reject His authority. God is the author of life, not man. (Acts 3:15)

Satan hates life. Abortion is his sacrament. Every newborn’s cry is a reminder to Satan of another image bearer of Almighty God whose sole purpose is to give praise and glory to His Name. The Great Liar enlists people into his work to destroy as many babies as possible. The nation becomes desensitized to death in all its forms.

Numbers 35:33 -34 warns us to ‘not pollute the land where you are: for [shedding innocent blood] defiles the land you inhabit… and it is where the Lord dwells.’

By the shedding of innocent blood through abortion, the darkness spreads. The Spirit of Molech grows stronger as he adds the mutilation of children and the destruction of their fertility through transgender lies.

Hearts are hardened away from God. Eyes are blinded to evil, and the nation rebels against God.

Time for a Sea Change in the Culture

With ten states and the District willing to kill perfectly healthy babies up until the moment of birth – a matter of inches and seconds – it’s time for the Republican party to drop its mantra of “leave abortion to the states.”

Abortion in America is no longer ‘safe, legal and rare’ as it was supposed to be in the 90’s. Blue states are now going to the extremes of anytime, anywhere, for any reason, and no longer advocate for the rare. Gov. Healey switched out rare for affordable in her signing remarks.

To protect the unborn, it’s time for Congress to pass national restrictions on abortion, beginning with ending the brutality of killing a third-trimester baby. Without at least this national restriction, the U.S. is 1 of only 8 countries that allow abortion up to birth.

While I’d love to see a total ban on abortion, it’s not realistic at the moment. First, America must experience a tremendous shift in the culture from death to life. Churches must stand up, preach life, and decry the evil of abortion. Some do. Most don’t

Christians must express their disapproval of all abortion, but especially stand against the brutal and barbaric killings of babies who can feel pain. Like Abel’s blood called out to God, these tens of millions of babies are crying out. We must be their voice.

Write to your state legislator and governor. Work for pro-life candidates. Knock on doors. Support pro-life institutions.

As Christians, we must display compassion toward any woman who finds herself facing an unexpected pregnancy. Let all that you do be done with love. I Cor. 6:14 But our compassion should not be the world’s compassion. The world encourages women to have abortions so they can follow their dreams and be successful. To the world, a baby is a problem, a hindrance, and an inconvenience, not a precious gift from above.

We need to offer the Lord’s compassion and encourage them to choose life for their babies. We must proclaim that babies are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God. We must encourage women facing an unwanted baby that they will be great mothers, or their baby will be an answer to prayer for a childless couple.

And We Must Pray, Pray, Pray.

Do not be intimidated by the pro-abortion left. Who cheers for the murder of innocent babies? Demons and ghouls do.

My prayer is that you will find this information helpful to advocate in your community, with your friends and neighbors, and state legislators for the unborn. My prayer is that all believers will step forward in the battle for the soul of our nation and for the lives of millions of precious unborn babies.

Remember, believer, Almighty God goes before us in the battle and is always victorious. Christ claims authority over all human culture and life. In the words of Abraham Kupyer, a Dutch theologian…

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!”

A Prayer for the Unborn

Lord, we pray that You will break our hearts for what breaks Yours. We thank you for the precious gift of life.

We cry out to You to forgive our nation for the shedding of innocent blood. Have mercy on us and bring our nation to repentance for this grievous sin of abortion. We plead the blood of Jesus over our land, and especially in the blue states that kill the innocent.

We pray for an end to abortion in our nation and for the rededication of the people to follow Your holy ways and respect all life, especially life in the womb. Give our nation wisdom and grace to value every human life from conception to natural death.

We pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit over our land. Reawaken in our nation a culture of life and a love for all people, especially the most vulnerable. Open the heart of the nation to welcome every child with love and dignity and reaffirm the miraculous work of our Creator, who is the Author of Life.

May every legislature – national and state open their eyes to Your Spirit and the redeeming love of our Savior Jesus. May their choices in laws reflect Your will, promote marriage, and protect children – the unborn and the born.

We pray that every woman facing an unwanted pregnancy will seek Your Face and will cherish and protect this glorious gift from You, even in the midst of fear or suffering.

Wrap Your loving arms around her, provide for her every need and lead her to the caring resources and supportive communities that are there to help provide for her needs and that of her baby.

We pray for Your mighty protection of all Pregnancy Resource Centers and all ministries working to end abortion. Please provide the funding they need to prosper, and cut off all funding to abortion clinics.

For any woman facing a frightening fetal diagnosis of death or disability, please give her the comfort and peace to trust You in these difficult situations. May she be surrounded by loving support, and may she never hear the lies of the abortionist.

Help us as believers to bear witness to the truth that every life is precious and worth living. May we never grow weary or discouraged in our prayers and actions to end the evil of abortion in our country. In Jesus Name, Amen.
