From The Daily Wire:

Nine agitators were arrested overnight on Thursday, according to Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. They join another six rioters who were arrested Wednesday for assaulting ICE officers. Around 100 agitators gathered at the detention facility Wednesday and Thursday, with several of them throwing objects at federal officers.

In a video posted by commentator Nick Sortor, an agitator screamed at an ICE agent, telling him that he took a photo of the agent’s face and threatened to murder his family.

“I’ll kill your whole f****** family. Your whole f****** family is dead — your children, your wife, all dead. I have your face, motherf*****!”

The protests took place outside the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey, where demonstrators had gathered over allegations regarding conditions inside the detention center. According to federal officials, the demonstrations quickly escalated, with some protesters allegedly biting, kicking, punching, and throwing objects at law enforcement officers.

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that nine people were arrested Thursday night, adding to six arrests made the previous day. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche also addressed the threat made against the ICE officer, promising that federal authorities would identify and prosecute the individual responsible. Under federal law, threatening a federal officer through threats against family members can carry a prison sentence of up to ten years.

The unrest highlights the increasingly heated debate surrounding immigration enforcement in America. While critics of ICE have raised concerns about detention practices and conditions, supporters argue that violence and intimidation against law enforcement officers cannot be tolerated regardless of political disagreements.

The incident also comes amid continued efforts by the Trump administration to expand immigration enforcement operations and increase deportations of illegal immigrants with criminal records. As enforcement activity has increased, so too have demonstrations at detention facilities and ICE offices across the country.

This situation is a reminder to pray for both justice and peace. Let’s pray for the safety of law enforcement officers as they work to keep our nation safe!
