From The Epoch Times:

The Trump administration expressed optimism on Wednesday about reaching a deal to end the U.S.–Israeli war on Iran and threatened to impose sanctions on buyers of Iranian oil as the U.S. maritime blockade of Iranian ports continues.

U.S. and Iranian officials were weighing a return to Pakistan for further talks after last weekend’s talks ended without a deal.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a news conference on Wednesday: “These conversations are productive and ongoing, and that’s where we are right now. I’ve also seen some reporting about the potentiality for in-person discussions. Again, those discussions are being had, but nothing is official until you hear it from us here at the White House, but we feel good about the prospects of a deal.”

At the same time, the administration is applying significant economic and military pressure to bring Iran to the negotiating table. The threat of secondary sanctions on countries purchasing Iranian oil represents a major escalation, potentially impacting global markets and isolating Iran financially. Coupled with the naval blockade—enforced by U.S. warships in key waterways like the Strait of Hormuz—this strategy reflects a dual-track approach of diplomacy backed by force.

The broader conflict has already reshaped the region, escalating tensions with Iranian leadership following major military strikes. Iran’s backing of proxy groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas continues to be a central issue in negotiations. Meanwhile, mediation efforts led by Pakistan highlight the international stakes, even as some allies—like the United Kingdom under Keir Starmer—have declined to join the blockade, underscoring divisions among Western nations.

This moment carries significant global and spiritual weight, as decisions made now could impact not only regional stability but the future of Israel and the broader Middle East. Pray for wisdom for President Trump and allied leaders, for peace that is rooted in truth, and for protection over Israel and innocent lives caught in the conflict.
