President Donald Trump has announced a pause in planned military action against Iran, signaling a potential shift toward diplomacy after escalating tensions in the region. The decision comes amid international mediation efforts and growing concerns over a wider conflict.

President Donald Trump said on April 7 that he would suspend pending attacks on Iran.
“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,” Trump said on Truth Social.
His announcement came about an hour and a half before his 8 p.m. ET deadline and after Pakistan’s request that he halt the attack.
President Trump’s decision to delay military action reflects a critical moment in the ongoing conflict, as diplomatic efforts appear to be gaining traction. The proposed ceasefire and negotiations suggest that both sides may be seeking a path to de-escalation after a period of heightened tension and military activity.
The involvement of Pakistan as a mediator highlights the broader international stakes, with regional stability and global energy routes—particularly the Strait of Hormuz—playing a central role. Any disruption in this region could have far-reaching consequences for global markets and security.
It’s not clear exactly what the details of the ceasefire are, nor what a potential peace deal will entail. Iran reportedly shared a 10-point plan that demands, among other things, that America compensate Iran for war damages, stop Israel from attacking Hezbollah, and allow Iran to continue enriching uranium. This plan may seem alarming, but President Trump has insisted that it has “absolutely nothing to do with the U.S.A. / Iran Negotiation.”
For now, the ceasefire is holding, though Iran has said its continued success hinges on Israel halting its attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance is leading a negotiating team that will speak with Iran this Saturday morning.
For intercessors, this is a call to pray for lasting peace in the Middle East and for discernment among those negotiating these agreements. Let’s pray that violence would be restrained, that agreements would lead to true stability, and that lives would be spared. And let’s not forget to pray that, amid all these negotiations, God’s chosen nation of Israel would be protected.

Our Heavenly Father. I thank you that we are in a two week Ceasefire with Iran.
This will give the U.S. Military a chance to regroup, rest, get more ammunition and
PRAY. Please let the negotiating team have success and not come back without
true knowledge of what is happening. Help there to be discernment and wisdom,
especially with Vice President JD Vance.
Iran is not to be trusted. They are pathological liars and you never get what you are
asking for. They are negotiators who don’t hold onto their bargain. President Trump
gave them a plan to go by and they are not doing what he asked of them. Please let
them see that he is not bluffing. They can see by the decimation of their Military, missile capabilities and nuclear material.
We also need to pray for our biggest Allie Israel as they are constantly being bombed
even though there is a Ceasefire. Please Lord bring Peace to the Middle East. They have
been fighting for Centuries and Israel is always targeted. Praying that God will continue
to watch over Our Military and keep everyone safe.
Please keep President Trump and his Cabinet safe and the Pentagon and CIA and all the
Special Forces and All branches of Our Military safe. Let this be a Mission from God and
only good things come from it. Let President Trump get Godly sleep, relaxation and restoration as he carries out this huge undertaking. Thank you that he is a God fearing man
and loves Our Lord and Savior. To God be the Glory.

PLEASE GIVE TRUMP THE INSIGHT TO SPOT IRANIAN DUPLICITY. THEY’RE PLAYING A TIME GAME HOPINGTHE REST OF THE MID EAST COMES AROUND TOTHEIR SIDE. DESTOY THEIR CAPACITY TO DO HARM TO ANY ONE AND FORCE THEM TO QUIT COMPLETELY. TO UNCONDITIONALLY SURRENDER.

Father we come before you to lift up our nation, President Trump, and the negotiating team sent to bring peace to the Middle East. We ask that you block all unwise counsel that would come to President Trump. May he quickly recognize it and reject it. Father we ask that you surround him with wise counselors for Your Word says there is victory with wise counsel. Father we ask that you give the negotiating team supernatural wisdom and discernment. Your Word says in 2 Tim. 2:7 …for the Lord will give you understanding in everything, We speak this for the negotiating team. They will have a clear understanding in everything. Father, expose all lies, intentions, deception from the Iran’s leaders. In Jesus Mighty Name we ask. Amen
Lord Jesus, I pray that You give wisdom and guidance to President Trump in this cease-fire situation with Iran. I pray for the safety and protection of Israel. I pray, Lord, for the safety and protection of all of our troops. Whatever comes as a result of this cease-fire, I pray for Your will to prevail. Thank You Jesus.
