New York Attorney General Letitia James, one of the key officials who leveraged lawfare against President Trump in the 2024 election season, was recently indicted over alleged false statements and fraud.

A federal grand jury in Virginia has indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan said James faces up to 30 years in prison per count, up to a $1 million fine on each count and forfeiture if she’s convicted.

“No one is above the law. The charges as alleged in this case represent intentional, criminal acts and tremendous breaches of the public’s trust,” Halligan said. “The facts and the law in this case are clear, and we will continue following them to ensure that justice is served.”

In response to this indictment, the Attorney General framed the charges as “political retribution,” calling upon “leaders on both sides of the aisle to speak out against this blatant perversion of our system of justice.”

The DOJ has been investigating Attorney General James for months now. In September, a source familiar with the investigation told Fox that she “is under scrutiny for, in at least one instance, declaring an investment property she owns as her primary or secondary residence, which would give her better loan terms.”

Attorney General James was behind some of the lawfare President Trump faced while running for reelection. Last year, she sued the President for civil fraud, accusing him of lying about properties he owned to secure better deals. In a post from last February, the Attorney General wrote that “when powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of hardworking people.” Some have pointed out how poetic this post is now that AG James has been charged with what she accused President Trump of doing.

As Attorney General James’ case moves forward, let’s pray for the truth to be revealed and for true justice to be served.
