Christopher Columbus Was Exonerated!
Christopher Columbus was accused of many things, but all charges were dismissed in a court of law.
Get prayer updates from IFA.
On his third voyage, many of the people he was governing turned against him and accused him of the very things they were doing. Sound familiar?
They shipped him in chains to the King and Queen of Spain, who had financed his voyages. When they heard the facts, they set him free.
In the video “The History of Christopher Columbus,” President of WallBuilders Tim Barton said, “Today, people are accusing Christopher Columbus of being guilty of things that he was actually pardoned for back then. Because when you go through due process, when the facts come out, facts matter.”
So why are the lies being propagated 533 years after he first discovered what would become America?
In the video, historian and founder of WallBuilders, David Barton, said, “We’ve never seen truth being brought down the way we see it today, so deliberately.”
Goal 31 of the Communist Party USA, as read into the Congressional Record in 1963, is “Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of ‘the big picture.’”
Killing and Enslaving
The biggest accusations against Columbus are genocide and slavery.
David Barton tells how Columbus befriended the Taino tribe when he landed in what he thought was an island off the shore of India.
Mr. Barton said:
He wrote back to the King and Queen, and he wrote in his journals about how the Tainos are the kindest and gentlest people, and to the King and Queen, he said, these people need to be citizens. They need the rights of citizens. They need equal rights.
Some of the Tainos asked to return with Columbus, and Mr. Barton said, “They actually become part of the royal court in Spain.”
The Tainos warned Columbus and his men of a tribe called the Caribs, which inspired the name Caribbean. They were also known as the Cannibs, and that inspired the word cannibal. This tribe was literally going island to island, literally eating everyone who lived there. They enslaved the women and raped them because they liked the taste of infants. They were the ones guilty of genocide.
Though Columbus couldn’t believe such accusations were true, he returned on his second voyage to find the village he had left behind burned down and the inhabitants killed or kidnapped. In response, Columbus attacked and subdued that Cannibs.
He Wanted Gold
One of the accusations leveled against Columbus was that he was greedy. David Barton said:
He wants the gold to be able to liberate the Middle East before the return of Christ, and so, significantly, what he tells the King and Queen is, “I wish that all the profits of this my enterprise may be sent to the conquest of Jerusalem.” Yeah, he wanted gold, but it was because of the Muslim conquerors, trying to get it back out of their hands into the hands of Christians and Jews.

The Lord Used Columbus
At the inaugural IFA Policy and Prayer event in October 2022, Constitutional scholar Cynthia Dunbar said, “America was birthed by the Lord.”
What follows is a recording of her describing a prophetic vision of America. Spoiler alert: If you don’t listen to her story first, I’m going to give away her big surprise in the next paragraph:
Ms. Dunbar shared how a missionary to Muslims was stoned nearly to death. Sailors found him and were taking him back to his homeland. They realized he wasn’t going to make it to shore. Ms. Dunbar said:
So they stand him up to look and see his homeland one last time. And as he does, God drops the prophetic awareness in his spirit, and he turns the other way. And he points to where they don’t think there’s anything. And he says, across these waters is another land. Their people do not know God. Send men there. He prophetically declared the existence of America. And the sailors go home. And then they start telling this story to their children and their children’s children. And one of these grandchildren caught it in their spirit. He knew there was a divine appointment, like, “I was created for a purpose like this.” And so that grandchild grew up and said, “I need to go over there.” And that was Christopher Columbus.
In his journal, Columbus often quoted Scripture. In the video, David Barton said, “He reads through the scriptures, and when the Lord really impresses him with a verse about how people need to know the gospel, or how God is going to do something in the end times, he writes it all down.”
Barton tells about Columbus’ Book of Prophecies, and he quoted from it:
I’ve seen and put in the study to look into all the Scriptures. … Our Lord opened my understanding. I could sense His hand upon me. … All those who heard about my enterprise rejected it with laughter, scoffing at me. Who doubts that this illumination is from the Holy Spirit? I attest that He [the Spirit], with marvelous rays of light, consoled me through the holy and sacred Scriptures. … No one should be afraid to take on any enterprise in the name of our Savior, if it’s right and if the purpose is purely for His holy service.

Let’s ignore the distortions and outright lies and celebrate how Christopher Columbus followed a prophetic vision to bring the gospel to the New World.

You certainly don’t learn about those things in public school! neither did I learn about them in Catholic School. without him being a faithful servant, and obeying god, I wouldn’t be sitting here today praising God for having Hamas release those prisoners.
