Do you remember where you were on June 24, 2022? Likely, many of you were on your knees thanking God for the victory! The Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade. Almost fifty years had passed, and an untold number of prayers had reached the heavenlies. It was a day to celebrate. Justice Samuel Alito represented the majority and wrote, “We hold the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion.”

Joy and Anger Erupt

While this one sentence brought overwhelming joy and cheers from the pro-life movement, it enraged pro-abortion advocates whose misguided disillusionment turned into hateful resolve. Those who proclaimed, “We are never going back,” were whipped into a frenzy. “Democracy is crumbling,” they decried, insisting that all women’s lives were in grave danger because the “right to a safe abortion” had been stripped away.

Clearly, the fight was not over as the abortion machine began a massive propaganda war. Women took to the streets with their pink “cat hats,” while advocates quoted Vladimir Lenin and other socialist leaders in a wayward attempt to inspire people to fight so-called tyranny. “Reproductive justice” was and still is the battle cry of those who see the unborn as a barrier to freedom. Not surprisingly, the occult movement jumped on the bandwagon by casting spells and portraying abortion providers as modern-day persecuted witches accused of bogus crimes.

Shout About Murder

Rebellious abortion activists created websites and movements such as Shout Your Abortion, encouraging women to “normalize abortion” and “elevate safe paths to access, regardless of legality.” With the overturn of Roe v. Wade, these women were emboldened with their vision of a world where “abortion is free, de-stigmatized, and accessible in every community across the country.” They insisted, “We must build a collective that is committed to aiding and abetting abortion–in the form of elevating resources, funding abortions, sharing information about pills, and saving independent clinics.”

Planned Parenthood fueled the fires of resistance. The abortion behemoth answered the calls for rebellion, claiming that essential healthcare for women was being denied. Truthfully, the word for their services is more aptly named “deathcare,” as a 2023-2024 annual report revealed that Planned Parenthood killed over 400,000 babies a year (more than 1,000 preborn children every day) in the United States using various methods of abortion. Live Action, an organization committed to sharing the truth about abortion, states, “This equates to nearly 45 abortions every hour, and one every 80 seconds. According to that report, Planned Parenthood commits 40% of all abortions in the United States. The most common types involve the abortion pill, D&C suction abortion, D&E (dismemberment) abortion, or induction abortion using a feticide to cause cardiac arrest.”

For far too long, Planned Parenthood has received exorbitant amounts of government funding, taking in as much as $800 million in taxpayer dollars for its most recently reported year. Medicaid funds have been a key lifeline that keeps the wheels turning on the abortion machine. U.S. taxpayers are Planned Parenthood’s largest financial contributor, supplying 39% of the organization’s $2 billion in revenue.”

Whistleblowers Helped Pave the Path

Even before the overturn of Roe v. Wade, whistleblowers worked tirelessly to expose Planned Parenthood’s gruesome practices, such as the trafficking of baby body parts. Sandra Merritt, an investigator with the Center for Medical Progress, released undercover videos that elicited shock and outrage because abortionists and organ procurement staff were caught in the act as they “openly admitted their regular breaking of federal laws regarding late term abortion, the sale of human body parts, and worst of all…the dissection of babies–some of which, one expert said, had to be ALIVE when their body parts were harvested.” Moreover, a former employee of StemExpress, a tissue procurement company that partnered with Planned Parenthood affiliates, gave a chilling first-hand account of how tissue is taken from pre-born babies while their hearts are still beating.

The case against Planned Parenthood and Big Abortion had been building for many years. As the public was schooled about the evils of this industry through the internet, social media, conservative influencers, and faith-based organizations, the tide began to turn. An outcry against the brutal practice of abortion echoed throughout America.

Big Beautiful Bill Strikes the Heart of the Abortion Industry

In July 2025, the maniacal abortion machine had a big wrench thrown into its motor when plans to force taxpayers to pay for the murders of innocent babies were halted. With the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, the abortion industry is now running scared as the legislation specifies that “prohibited” entities (organizations/businesses that commit abortions) cannot receive federal funds for one year.

Abortion proponents called the legislation “catastrophic.” But what is catastrophic to them is an answer to prayer for those who have wept over the senseless, violent treatment of the unborn. It’s notable that the Big Beautiful Bill was passed right before Independence Day. Liberty Counsel declares, “The Declaration of Independence clearly states that we are endowed by our Creator with the unalienable right to LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The unborn deserve these same rights.

Planned Parenthood Unleashes Lawfare

Planned Parenthood is already asking for donations to keep its clinics up and running. On July 3, 2025, a press release stated, “To the Trump Administration: We’ll see you in court.” They wrote, “If Planned Parenthood is ‘defunded,’ nearly 200 Planned Parenthood health centers in 24 states across the country are at risk of closure. More than 90% of those closures would occur in states where abortion is legal.”

Right away, the wheels of lawfare began spinning when an Obama-appointed U.S. District Judge issued a temporary restraining order, which states that the Department of Health and Human Services must “take all steps necessary to ensure that Medicaid funding continues to be disbursed” to Planned Parenthood. This order lasts two weeks, but its existence is a powerful reminder that prayer is needed to ensure this funding is discontinued.

The war to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion mills through the Big Beautiful Bill will continue. Nonetheless, many states are fighting their own battles, with victories already tucked under their belts. As of May 28, 2025, the Guttmacher Institute reported that states such as Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia have near-total bans on abortion. Additionally, at least 28 states have abortion bans based on gestational duration. Seven states ban abortion at or before 18 weeks of gestation, and 21 states ban abortion at some point after 18 weeks. These abortion restrictions are a giant thorn in the side of those who rage against the pro-life movement. In effect, their erratic hopes lie with the nine states and the District of Columbia, which do not restrict abortion on the basis of gestational duration.

Mail Order Abortion

Many abortion enthusiasts and doctors have tried to get around the abortion bans and restrictions by using telemedicine shield laws and the postal system. Dissatisfied with states they call “abortion deserts,” they have turned to dangerous pills that induce painful abortions. In 2024, the New York Times reported, “Shield laws have become a key abortion-rights strategy, and each month, prescribers are sending medication to about 10,000 patients in states with bans.” In response, states such as Louisiana have passed laws such as the Justice for Victims of Abortion Drug Dealers Act, which “enables a pre-born baby’s mother, father, and grandparents, as well as the mother’s legal guardian, to sue anyone who ‘performs, causes, or substantially facilitates an abortion’ for damages, ‘regardless of whether the abortion resulted in the death of the unborn child.’”

In the midst of these actions, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced plans to investigate safety concerns related to the abortion pill mifepristone. At President Donald Trump’s urging, Kennedy said, “What he has asked me to do is to study the…safety signals, and I think that’s worth doing.” Kennedy cited a recent study conducted by the Ethics & Public Policy Center that found nearly 11% of women who used the popular abortion pill experienced a serious adverse event. He blasted the NIH for failing to require doctors to report nonfatal adverse side effects caused by the abortion drug saying it was “inexcusable.” This highly dangerous drug, which can cause severe hemorrhaging, infection, and even death, now accounts for over 63% of all abortions.

I Saw My Baby

Even more eye-opening are the reports of women who take abortion pills at home only to come face to face with their baby. In 2023, Live Action created a series of videos called I Saw My Baby, which shows the “traumatic and heartbreaking stories of women who took the abortion pill and saw the results of their choice.” These women were told they would only see clumps of blood and tissue, but instead they saw a tiny, but beautifully formed baby.

In November 2023, Live Action posted an article that highlighted a grieving mother who shared pictures of her 9-week miscarried baby. Measuring just one inch in length, the baby had a fully intact amniotic sac that was attached to the umbilical cord. The photos showcase the small but intricately developed features. While the child was lost by miscarriage and not through abortion, the mother wanted women who are considering abortion to understand that their baby is a miraculous creation of God, a truth that the abortion industry refuses to acknowledge.

After the overturn of Roe v. Wade, it became more important than ever to share the reality and brutality of abortion, so people would reject the lies that upheld it in the first place.

Window to the Womb

In December 2023, Live Action launched a “groundbreaking web experience, allowing users to see firsthand how a preborn child develops in the womb, with interactive features through each day of development. The Window to the Womb app showcases incredibly detailed, medically accurate, lifelike time-lapse images using stunning imagery. This resource was created to emphasize the humanity of children and counter the lies of the abortion industry, which says that a developing baby is nothing more than a clump of cells and tissue.

Incredibly detailed fetal development apps and ground-breaking videos such as Baby Olivia, which provide scientifically accurate computer animations showing human prenatal development, have become a powerful weapon in the fight against post-Roe abortion activism. Currently, at least six states have signed prenatal development requirements into law for students attending public schools. All require students to view detailed ultrasounds and/or animated videos that highlight organ formation and growth milestones. Additionally, 18 other states have introduced similar bills that would make prenatal development an essential part of a public school education.

An Avalanche of Prayer

As all of these victories were taking place, behind the scenes were the many unsung heroes and warriors who would not take off their armor or put down their swords. They joined prayer movements and led the nation in repentance and fasting. Intercessors for America continues to host prayer events and intercede for the leaders of our nation as they serve on the front lines of the abortion war. The 40 Days for Life campaign has reached millions through dedicated prayer, fasting, and peaceful 24-hour vigils in front of abortion clinics. Even though many have faced persecution and jail time, these soldiers fight the good fight. As a result, the truth about the violent act of abortion is spreading like a fire, and the pro-death culture is feeling the heat.

Kamala’s Abortion Campaign Fell Flat

Let’s not forget what happened to presidential candidate Kamala Harris when she made abortion the centerpiece of her campaign. As the first vice president to visit an abortion clinic, she dug her heels into the death culture, even allowing abortionists to join her on stage during rallies. The mobile abortion clinic parked right outside the Democratic National Convention became her calling card. Yet she didn’t get the memo that a vast number of Americans do not think abortion is essential to democracy. When Harris lost the election to President Donald Trump, one CNN analyst stated, “It seems like abortion was not the animating issue.”

The battle over abortion is far from over. The enemy will not lay down his weapons easily. This is why strategic prayer must continue.

How Can We Pray about Abortion?

1. One of the easiest ways to obtain an abortion currently is through the abortion pill. Pray that pipelines to obtain these drugs are shut off. Pray for HHS Secretary Kennedy and his staff as they investigate the dangers of these pills.
2. Pray for organizations like Live Action that continue to expose the violent practice of abortion. Pray their message carries far and wide, and without censorship. Pray for Intercessors for America as it works with and intercedes for legislators and leaders. May God use IFA to educate our nation’s leaders about abortion, while inspiring them to preserve the lives of unborn babies. Pray for 40 Days for Life and other organizations that keep vigil at abortion clinics and bring awareness to the sanctity of life. Additionally, pray that whistleblowers in the abortion industry would come forward and share their experiences.
3. Pray that organizations like Planned Parenthood would lose all their funding. While the Big Beautiful Bill ensures tax dollars cannot fund them for a year, the lawfare machine is already working to keep this from happening. Pray that lawsuits against the BBB would fall flat. Also, pray that the time of one year will be extended and that future legislation will not undermine the goal of saving as many babies as possible.
4. Pray for more videos and apps to be made available to women where they see the miracle of life, and become well-educated about the truth of prenatal development.
5. Pray for legislators and leaders to rise up and fight for the unborn, regardless of the political price they pay. Pray for Americans to become so disgusted by the practice of abortion that they vote down any measure that threatens the unborn.

Above all, we pray for a day when abortion is completely abolished.
