Since his inauguration, President Trump has been focused on ending the war in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel. Ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the White House last night, he once again renewed his efforts and calls for a ceasefire.

As the President pushes for peace talks, however, Israel is actively striking Gaza. The Daily Caller reported on this Monday afternoon:

At least 38 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza Sunday, hospital officials reported, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepares to travel to Washington for ceasefire discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump, the Associated Press reported.

The U.S. is pushing a proposal that would establish an initial 60-day ceasefire and secure a partial release of hostages held by Hamas. The plan also calls for increased humanitarian aid to Gaza and lays the groundwork for talks aimed at ending the nearly two-year conflict.

According to the Israeli military, it struck 130 targets across Gaza in the last 24 hours. While the military did not comment on specific incidents, it claimed to have targeted Hamas infrastructure and said a number of militants were killed in northern Gaza.

The Caller reports that negotiations are set to resume in Qatar, though a ceasefire still seems far off. Hamas has reportedly responded well to the United States’ proposal, although it is seeking guarantees of a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of all IDF troops. Israel, meanwhile, has outright rejected these conditions, with Netanyahu’s office calling them “unacceptable.”

If a 60-day ceasefire is achieved, President Trump hopes to see both sides negotiate a permanent end to the war. To this end, the President is guaranteeing Israel’s adherence to halting military operations. Will this be enough to sway Hamas? Only time will tell.

As peace and ceasefire talks continue, it’s important that we keep all leaders involved in our prayers. As intercessors, we know just how important Israel is, and we know that dire consequences await those who carve up her land. Let’s pray that President Trump pursues a lasting peace that also respects Israel’s sovereignty and biblically appointed land!

Thank you Lord that Trump is not pushing the cursed “two-State” plan in these talks. You have heard and answered our prayers! Bless and strengthen these two great leaders, Netanyahu and Trump. 🇺🇸🇮🇱

YHVH, we ask that Hamas be totally defeated and removed from Gaza. We ask that all hostages, living and dead, be released to return to Israel – with no concessions from Israel. We ask that no ceasefire be agreed to if it is one-sided and only agreed to so Israel’s enemies can re-arm to fight again another day. Please keep clearing and preparing for the establishment of the Isaiah 19 highway. May no leader in the nations presume to demand or pressure Israeli leaders to adhere to any plan or purpose that is not of You – protect their sovereignty. Lift their eyes to behold You, and reveal their Messiah to them. Make known that there is a GOD in Israel – the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!! Fulfill every covenant promise to Your people Israel, and to Your people called forth from the nations, the ekklesia. For You are a covenant keeping, faithful God!

Father, please provide wisdom. Please show President Trump that there is no way to make peace with satan. We, as believers, are not called to negotiate with the enemy, we are called to cast him out and destroy his works.
Had the Jews followed God’s original instructions to clear the land, we would not be here. (Deut.. 20:16, 1 Samuel 15:3).

Satan’s mission to destroy the Jews will not cease until he is bound and destroyed. And we say to him, “The Lord rebuke you” Jude 1:9

The idea of peace in the Middle East is good; however, any peace proposal in this region of the world is going to be temporary at best. Just reaching a cease-fire is going to be difficult at best. These nations are always going to be hostile towards Israel. Furthermore, how do you negotiate peace with a terrorist group? Lord, I pray for supernatural intervention in the Middle East. May Your will be done.

I appreciate you speaking up about the error (“fire” when it should have been “dire”) – THANK YOU!
Relying on spell check instead of personally proofing and editing allows for these types of errors. LOL
