On Thursday, during an event celebrating the National Day of Prayer, President Trump established a Religious Liberty Commission, announcing that his administration is “bringing religion back to our country.”
From The Daily Wire. President Trump quipped about āforgettingā the separation of church and state and declared āweāre bringing religion back to our countryā during a National Day of Prayer event on Thursday.

The Religious Liberty CommissionĀ is expected to hold its first formal meeting within the next several weeks, with the commission set to āterminate on July 4, 2026, which marks the 250th anniversary of American Independence, unless extended by the President.ā

Lord, please put a hedge of protection around the members of the Religious Liberty Commission. Please guide and direct all of their thoughts and actions. May what they do, line up with Your will. I give you all the thanks and praise for the development of this Commission. Funny thing is, I wasn’t aware that religion went anywhere. It’s just a little easier to be a Christian in our post-modern society, since President Trump has taken initiatives to restore religious freedom in America
May we pray that the Lord will bring all people to the saving knowledge of HIM our Savior and that we will represent HIM well. Love and the absence of persecution of other “religions” will draw people with out our having to act like they do. Walk our walk and talk our talk and they will come. Thank God for President Trump’s honoring “religion” having opened the space to express faith freely as was intended by our Fore Fathers. All other religions require adherence to their view, their hate of their “enemies” and they act like their Father, the devil. True Christ followers do not….we love our enemies. In the present environment of our Country, we best take the time allotted to act and express ourselves as Christ did while we have this wonderful time. America Bless God! It sounds good to protect religious liberty. I agree. The concerns is we as a nation must recognize Creator God as the one and only God. While others may have liberty of worship, a personal relationship with God cannot be legislated.
But the first command says āThou shall not have no other gods before meā. They must not be gathered together in regards to unifying False faiths, as man made gods cannot be worshipped in the presence of the holy God our Savior.
I pray for wisdom in this matter. There cannot be a gathering of all faiths without breaking the first command.
Thank you President Trump. You cannot declare Christianity as the national religion but this makes a place in which Christianity can thrive. The Constitution provided for freedom of religion and so President is bringing us back to protection of this right . Praise the Lord

The very best place to visit on the Harvard campus is the Memorial Church. I visited there years ago when the church was empty except for the organist who was playing wonderful old hymns on that beautiful organ. The sun was streaming through the windows and fragrance of incense in the atmosphere and the sense of GODās Presence was absolutely divine. One wall of the church was lined with plagues commemorating the names of war heroes who once attended the school. Pray that the college turns back to Almighty GOD who called the school into being to train many, many Christians for service to Our Lord Jesus Christ.
May all of our colleges return to their Christian roots and let’s have a revival explode through out the youth training to be the professional leaders in this upcoming generation!

Dr Rev Greg Seltz has been working in Washington D C for years. Heās an exceptional man and pastor. He should be included in this commission. Heās the head of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty.
I pray that President Trump will do all that the Lord has for him to do. I pray for his protection, that he will be kept by God’s power, and that God’s peace rules in our President’s heart. So, I appreciate his goal of restoring Biblical mandates to order.

Volunteer to do a day of caring, help the poor, sick and injured.

Especially since FEMA relief, MEALS on Wheels, HEADSTART Meals were cut, Care for The ELDERLY and the US VA Benefits – Letās not be hypocrites, Letās put Actions Behind those Words! Letās be living our Lives as True Christians – followers of CHRiST

The term “separation of church and state” is not in the Constitution. It came from Thomas Jefferson. He never fought religion in the public square. The Constitution protects religion FROM the government. Those who want to ban religious life from the public square are not constitutional. This will not eliminate the Catholic Church or other groups. It will only help to stop what the government was trying to do to the religious element in our society.
What religion specifically is he talking about? The Catholic one? The 3000 plus denominations? The mega church prosperity gospel? Paula White will determine now what man-made doctrines to implement?
No thank you to any. I follow the Law of Moses and our Messiah Yeshua – not man made doctrines.

I grew up for the first 35+ years in Catholic Church and am very thankful for the foundation that my parents formed, but there came a time I left my religion and became a Christ follower. It is not about religion, but about the person we follow, love and desire to be transformed with the help of His Spirit. He has given us HIs Word, may we hold fast to it’s truths and the power it has in our lives.
Praise God Almighty! God is God in America and has always been from the beginning and shall be until the end of days.

Since this is about “religion”, I encourage some restraint in our celebration of “religious liberty”. It equalizes, in essence, all religions, but does not define what a religion is. The dangerous assumption that most are making here is that it is talking about protection of the liberty of the Christian religion. I contend that many are assuming that Christians should receive a favored status, not equality. At the root of the issue is the fact that even within the Trump administration we have several “religions” represented, so that cannot be the case. Equality of religion is not truly possible, because they are mutually exclusive and in competition with one another – eg. Islam demands to be the “one and only” at threat of death.
Religion is “man creating a god in his own image”, and that can be true even within the “Christian religion”. Even within the institution/organization we call church, there are many who do not truly know YHVH through His Son Yeshua, who follow a mix of Biblical “truth” and man’s doctrines and traditions. This is syncretism, a “mix” prohibited in YHVH’s instructions. The Uncreated YHVH created man in His own image, and must be worshipped as He truly is, and as He has commanded us to worship Him. Yeshua did not die to form a new religion. The true “church” is a spiritual entity which cannot be “housed” in buildings, because it IS a building according to I Peter 2:5 – “you yourselves, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house”, and the chief corner stone is Yeshua.
We must recognize that as a spiritual entity, the ekklesia exists in a different realm – it is not of the natural realm, nor can it be defined by the natural realm. It simply operates within the natural realm – we are not of the world, but we are in the world. When we desire “protection”, “favored status”, or even “equality” as a “religion”, we are attempting to preempt what Yeshua said we would experience as His people. “I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.”Ā John 17:14 We are promised tribulation.
Whatever the intention of those involved in establishment and operation of this commission, it is possible that it sets us up for the “one world religion” that is coming in this “end of days” scenario in the natural realm.
He is not setting up a one-world religion; he is being Constitutional in allowing religion to be present in our government, like it was many years ago.
Darlene, to be fair, I did not presume to know anyone’s intentions in my comment (ie. whatever the intentions), nor did I say he was setting up a one-world religion. I said this could be setting us up for it. That is different.
I’m still not sure how you define religion, and that is the crux of the issue. Religion has always been present in our government – most notably humanism, and now Hindu, Islam, etc. – maybe even Satanism. The problem is that Christian influence has been deemed impermissible, under the guise of “separation of church and state”. But if our bill of rights truly upholds “freedom of religion”, does it truly include all? If not, which ones are excluded?
It’s simple – Christianity is NOT a religion – it is in ONE word – RELATIONSHIP – with the Son of God Christ Jesus. Let “them” have their liberty but we will stay true to the Bible.
Top Shelf, I agree that the true “church” – I prefer “ekklesia”, because that avoids the baggage associated with the word “church” – is a people in relationship with YHVH through Yeshua. However, I contend that it has also devolved into a religion with an institutional/organizational structure, largely thanks to a Roman Emperor named Constantine. It is an important distinction in these conversations.
