During the oral arguments on Tuesday, a majority of the justices of the Supreme Court seemed to favor the parents in Mahmoud v. Taylor. Will the high court choose to protect parental rights?
From Daily Caller. Justice Brett Kavanaugh expressed surprise Tuesday that schools in a state founded on religious liberty are now banning parents with religious objections from opting their young children out of LGBTQ storybook lessons.

In Mahmoud v. Taylor, a majority of the Supreme Court appeared ready to side with parents who want to opt their children out of Montgomery County Board of Education’s mandated storybook readings involving pronouns, transgender children and pride parades.
“I guess I am a bit mystified, as a lifelong resident of the county, how it came to this,” Kavanaugh said during oral arguments. …
Eric Baxter, senior counsel for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, said the district promised for an entire year that parents would be notified and allowed to opt-out of the lessons. …
Alan Schoenfeld, attorney for the school district, told the justices it stopped offering opt-outs when it became unworkable.
However, the district already offers opt-outs for religious concerns about musical performances, dissections, and high school sex ed classes — “virtually everything else under the sun,” Principal Deputy Solicitor General Sarah Harris said.
“The one thing they don’t allow is the exemptions for the storybooks,” Harris said.
NOW: The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments in Mahmoud v. Taylor, which considers whether religious parents can opt their young children out of mandatory readings of LGBTQ storybooks.

Several justices suggested the school’s curriculum does not merely expose children to ideas without requiring them to affirm what is being taught.
“Is that a realistic concept when you’re talking about a 5 year old?” Chief Justice John Roberts asked. …
In the end, Kavanaugh came back to Montgomery County’s status as “a beacon of religious liberty for all these years.”
“Maryland was founded on religious liberty and religious tolerance, a haven for Catholics escaping persecution from persecution in England going back to 1649,” he told Schoenfeld. “I guess I’m surprised, given that this is the hill we’re going to die on in terms of not respecting religious liberty.”

The lgbtq community and all who support their agenda are showing how evil they are. They cried big time when us Godly people did not want them flaunting their evil life style, but they have no problem forcing their evil agenda on us. Wow, even Chief Justice commented on the side of the parents in effect. Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit will impart wisdom and common sense to the justices as they review this extremely important case. May the warrior angels protect the justices and keep every evil, demonic influence away from them.
I was listening to clips of the arguments yesterday where the school was saying it was unrealistic to have the religiously opted out kids leave the classroom every time someone wanted to read aloud one of the LGBTQ+ books on the classroom shelf. Easy solution – take them off the shelf. Remove them from the school. The subject matter is totally inappropriate. Jesus help us remove this insanity from our school curriculum. Return our education to godly values in all of our educational institutions the name of Jesus.
Heavenly Father forgive us as a nation! The bible tells parents to teach their own children. If we turn back and repent we won’t be having this problem, please help us in Jesus name!

YHVH, we ask that religious liberty be upheld, and parental rights take precedence in every county and state. Doing what is right cannot be something we do only when it doesn’t inconvenience us or only when it isn’t hard. This simply looks like an extension of the problem with human beings being unwilling to follow God’s instructions, because it is inconvenient and hard. May SCOTUS make the right call in this case.
Lord Jesus help the Supreme Court to side with parents and put this woke school district in its place. Let them be severely disciplined and made an example of for other districts who want to try to strip away parental rights.
Lord Jesus, may Your will prevail. Give each and every member of SCOTUS the wisdom and guidance that they need in rendering this decision. Thank You Jesus.
