“The first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”

Louisiana exemplifies this scripture as the favor of the Lord is being poured out, revealing the depths of His grace and His power to lift the lowly. For over a century, poverty and corruption have defined the state, yet intercessors and believers have remained steadfast—planting seeds of revival and reformation through fervent prayer, fasting, worship, and declarations of God’s Word.

Now, in God’s appointed time, Louisiana is rising from the ashes. The last is becoming first. A new day has dawned. Old things have passed away, and all things are becoming new.

A Miracle of Reformation

The Governor’s Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, April 16, in Baton Rouge was a momentous occasion. Governor Landry proclaimed that Louisiana is experiencing a “miracle of reformation.” At what is typically a solemn event, the Lord’s presence was tangible, as worship filled the elegant banquet room.

Will Graham, grandson of Billy Graham, delivered a heaven-sent word that led to twenty to thirty salvations in a crowd of over four hundred politicians and leaders. It was a visible manifestation of the Spirit moving among Louisiana’s top officials.

Intercessors are now praying for this to be just the beginning—the firstfruits of salvation among government leaders across the nation. It is time for our houses of government to become houses of prayer.

Fulfilled Dreams and Prophetic Encounters

Janie Harris, IFA Louisiana Leader, had received a dream in which she handed a Psalm 91 prayer to the governor and his wife—whom she had never met. On April 16, her dream was fulfilled as she placed the prayer in the First Lady’s hands after the breakfast.

Likewise, three years ago, I felt led to intercede for Liz Murrill, then Louisiana’s Solicitor General. In a dream, I saw myself praying for her in person. Over time, IFA Louisiana continued to lift her name in prayer, alongside other state leaders. In 2024, she was elected Attorney General of Louisiana and has since led efforts to uphold righteousness, including advocating for the Ten Commandments in Louisiana schools. When I finally met her, my dream was fulfilled, and I rejoiced in expressing the gratitude of thousands of believers who support her work.

Our God is moving in signs and wonders as we obey His still, small voice.

A Revival at the Capitol

The previous weekend, a powerful prayer gathering took place at the steps of the Louisiana Capitol Building. Faith leaders and elected officials released prayers of repentance, righteousness, love, and truth over the state.

My assigned prayer focus was favor, and I declared Psalm 102:13:

•  “You will rise up and have compassion on Louisiana, for it is time to show favor—its appointed time has come.”

This gathering was a beautiful display of unity in the body of Christ, fulfilling Jesus’ prayer in John 17. Denominations and fellowships came together to lift high the name of Jesus. Baton Rouge intercessor Ethel Veal, honored with the keys to the city, affirmed:

•  “We, the Louisiana intercessors, are one in the Spirit.”

Psalm 133 tells us that where unity abides, the Lord commands His blessing.

The Fruits of Favor

The evidence of the Lord’s favor is unmistakable. Revival has broken out across Louisiana, with reports of over 600 young people giving their lives to Christ in a youth revival. This is one of multiple documented outpourings of salvation this spring.

On the economic front, two multi-billion-dollar industries have been announced in Louisiana in recent weeks. Righteous governance and an awakened church are ushering in transformation across the state.

As Louisiana intercessors, we remain on the wall (Isaiah 62:6), praying until God’s covenant of salvation and favor is fully established.
