Father, we thank You for this partial ceasefire and the phone call between President Zelensky and President Trump. We pray this agreement would bring us closer to lasting peace in Europe.

During a phone call with President Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accepted a partial ceasefire deal. As Ukraine and Russia inch closer to peach, Zelensky posted on X that he believes “lasting peace can be achieved this year.”

From The Daily Wire. Ukraine has accepted a partial ceasefire with Russia on Wednesday after a “very good phone call” between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky.

The call came one day after a similar conversation between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and centered on many of the issues previously discussed in that call. Putin rejected an unconditional ceasefire offered by American and Ukrainian negotiators earlier this month, but did accept an offer to restrict attacks on energy infrastructure in both countries. Further negotiations will be conducted in Saudi Arabia …

“I had a positive, very substantive, and frank conversation with President of the United States Donald Trump,” Zelensky said in a statement posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “We believe that together with America, with President Trump, and under American leadership, lasting peace can be achieved this year.”

Trump also seemed optimistic about the ongoing peace talks, and said that he and Zelenskyy had a “very good phone call” …

Rubio and Waltz put out a joint statement shortly afterward, describing the conversation as “fantastic” and offering up additional details …

Trump and Zelensky also discussed Ukraine’s energy supply, including its nuclear power plants. Trump proposed American investment in and ownership of parts of Ukraine’s grid …

Many don’t understand. If Zelensky agrees that Russia can retained the territory it captured, the civilians who Russia has arrested (but not charged with anything) in those areas (many of the men, 10,000 and upward) have no status and disappear. They are not considered POWs. Their names have never been released. Zelensky would, in effect, have disowned Ukrainian citizens living in those areas and be turning them over to the Russians. This is about more than land.

There is no reason to believe that Putin intends to abide by a peace agreement any longer than it takes for him to strengthen his military. He has publicly stated his goals. This is his third attempt at what is turning out to be a successful attempt to expand Russia territory.

I don’t understand. IFA prays for Putin, but not Xi or Zelensky (who is Jewish) to receive Christ (i.e. all THREE).

Please work in this situation to bring about Your will and purposes for this region, these people groups, and these nations, that they may have opportunity to align with You and fulfill their God-given destinies.

God’s will is not to turn over people to an oppressor.

The article above does not mention that within hours after Putin agreed to not attack Ukraine energy, Russia launched attacks against them. So much for Putin not violating agreements he makes with Trump.

If one follows your reasoning, the good Samaritan should have bypassed the man lying beaten in the middle of the road because ‘it was God’s will’. If God gives you the means to help someone, it is your responsibility to be His hands.

I do, Liz. I set myself in alignment with God’s stated desire – He wills that none perish! (2 Peter 3:9) But I also recognize that God’s Word tells us “Go in through the narrow gate; for the gate that leads to destruction is wide and the road broad, and many travel it; but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.  Mat 7:13-14 We never know who the “whosoever” will be, so we leave that in His hands, but pray for an opportunity for them to hear and respond to the Gospel – and if we are able, be the answer to our own prayer.
