Ukraine Celebrates Its First National Day of Prayer
Intercessor, yesterday was the third anniversary of the start of the deadly war in Ukraine. However, it was also the very first Ukrainian National Day of Prayer, marking what was, for many, a dark day with hope for the future.
Become a Monthly Ministry Partner today.
Earlier this month, Ukraine voted to officially become the second nation in the world with a National Day of Prayer. They voted to institute this day on February 24, the same day that Russian tanks rolled across the border in 2022.
Yesterday, Ukrainians celebrated their first national day of prayer, hosting worship and prayer events in churches around the country. Most notably, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, honored the day by beginning its session with the song Bozhe velykyi, yedynyi, which roughly translates to Lord, of the Great and Almighty in English.
We received a video of this song ringing out through the halls of parliament from our friends in Ukraine. You can watch it below:
It is important to remember that this National Day of Prayer was accompanied by a prophecy. As we reported earlier this month, Cindy Jacobs of Generals International prophesied that Ukraine would only see the war end after instituting a National Day of Prayer. IFA President/CEO David Kubal helped to realize this prophecy, traveling to Ukraine late last year alongside Congressman Tony Hall and U.S. NDOP Chairman Geoff Ekart to introduce the concept of a National Day of Prayer to Ukrainian lawmakers.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the same day Ukrainians celebrated their National Day of Prayer, President Trump met with French President Macron to discuss an end to this war. With Jacobs’ prophecy in mind, we may very well see this war end well before next year’s celebration.

AWESOME !! PRAISE be to God our Father, and JESUS CHRIST our LORD, and to His Holy Spirit. How Wonderful !!! Thank YOU, JESUS !!!
As I watched the video of the Ukrainian Parliament singing, I began to weep and in intercede for this nation. May God give grace and wisdom to all those who are seeking to negotiate a peaceful settlement to this devastating war. May God give great strength and discernment to President Trump‘s envoys and may the governments of Ukraine and Russia agree to the terms for a cease-fire and ultimate settlement to this conflict. I pray that a great spiritual awakening will sweep, not only the nation of Ukraine, but also the Russian people.
Beautiful blessing Bill, amen.
In 1996 I traveled from Colorado across the Ocean into Israel…then I took a ship crossing the Med Sea…landing at the Black Sea. I spent 3 months in the Ukraine along with other volunteers from other Nations….Our leader became my friend and she and I still keep in touch. “K” spoke Armenian…English…and Hebrew. I met Gustof ..(spelling??)..He hired a ship and transported Hebrew people to Israel.
From that 3 month adventure my life has never been the same. I have traveled to Israel several times…and the people of Israel are on my Heart.
My husband I now live FULL TIME in Uganda..Our first trip here was in 2001. We ministered in most of the Ugandan prisons and jails in Uganda. We were both doing prison ministry in America. Mike is a teacher of the Hebrew Language. His teachings can be viewed on Rabbi’s Garden…Thanks for letting me share. Edith
Oh my God, said with reverence, thank you for sharing Edith! May God continue to bless you, your husband and everyone you encounter. I am going to visit the Rabbi’s Garden.
