January 27th, 2020 REV DR GERALD OLSESKI,JR,CM,DD Trusting The Bible
Read 1 Peter 1:33-25
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALL-KNOWING. In John 16:8-13, Jesus declares that God's Spirit will come into the world, not only to teach us about sin, righteousness, and judgment but also to "guide {us} into the truth."
THE HOLY SPIRIT INSPIRED THE WRITERS . As we saw yesterday, all Scripture is inspired by God (2 Tim. 3:16, whose Spirit led over 40 different people to write His inerrant Word over the course of 1,500 years.
THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDES THE READERS. First Corinthians 2:10-14 reminds us that the Holy Spirit reveals truth to us and helps us understand Scripture.

Forgiveness Though Christ's Blood
Read Ephesians 1:7
So what can we do to save our souls?
We cannot save ourselves, but we can accept the plan that God has provided for us. It will help us to understand this plan when we consider what He showed to His people, the Israelites, before Christ came. God told them to sacrifice animals. The lambs that was slain pointed toward the perfect Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, who would redeem all people by shedding His blood for their sins. The shedding of blood also helped the people understand the seriousness of sin.

Are You Forgiven?
Read Romans 3:10 and verse 23, and 2 Corinthians 5;10)
We are facing eternity, and this makes it imperative that we know if we are forgiven. If forgiven, we will be accepted into heaven. If we are not forgiven, we will be sentenced to eternal hell with the devil and his angels. "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom of the world" (Matthew 25:31-34).
