South Carolina Senate Committee Passes Abortion Ban

A South Carolina state Senate committee late Tuesday passed an abortion ban that will protect babies starting at conception. The measure would upgrade the state’s existing heartbeat law, which protects babies from abortions starting at 6 weeks when their heartbeat can be detected on a sonogram, to a full abortion ban protecting babies starting at conception.
The measure also indicates “it is undisputed that the life of every human being begins at conception” means child support and tax breaks begin at conception too.
Last week, the state House approved the Human Life Protection Act, H. 5399, that bans abortions exception in extremely rare cases to save the life of the mother. Now the Senate has followed suit but first, a panel voted to remove the rape and incest exceptions and the exception allowing abortions on disabled babies.
By a razor-thin margin of 9-8, the S.C. Senate Medical Affairs Committee gave a favorable report to the Human Life Protection Act (H 5399) without exceptions for rape, incest or fetal anomaly. The full Senate begins debate on the bill Wednesday morning at 10 a.m….(Excerpt from LIFENEWS.COM)
