Senate passes Cotton’s amendment preventing federal funds from promoting CRT in school
August 12, 2021 | District of Columbia
The U.S. Senate has voted to pass an amendment that would prohibit the federal funding of the toxic and divisive teaching known as critical race theory in the nation’s schools. The amendment which was introduced by Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas was approved 50-49 as a part of the budget reconciliation package and represents another step in the right direction of fighting the indoctrination of children who face shaming because of their skin color and are taught a version of history that falsely promotes the idea that America was founded on the principles of racism and slavery.
Cotton took to Twitter to announce the amendment’s passage, writing that “Our future depends on raising a generation of kids who love America.”.. (Excerpts from Business & Politics Review)
