Sarah Huckabee Sanders Says Biden and Democrats Have ‘Failed You’

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered the Republican response to the State of the Union, saying she didn’t believe “much of anything” President Biden offered in his speech while calling for a new generation of leaders.

“Biden and the Democrats have failed you. They know it and you know it, and it’s time for a change,” she said, speaking from Little Rock. She mentioned inflation, crime and the threat from China.

Ms. Sanders, who at 40 years old is the country’s youngest governor, contrasted herself with the 80-year-old president. “I’m the first woman to lead my state and he’s the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can’t even tell you what a woman is.”

The governor accused the Biden administration of “doubling down on crazy,” and said it had racked up spending and failed to stop drugs pouring across the southern border. She said Mr. Biden had refused to stand up to China, alluding to the days that went by before the U.S. military took down a suspected surveillance balloon. “President Biden is unwilling to defend our border, defend our skies, and defend our people. He is unfit to serve as commander in chief,” she said.

“Make no mistake, Republicans will not surrender this fight,” she added. “We will lead with courage and do what’s right, not what’s politically correct or convenient.” She said education policies are the “civil rights issue of our day,” calling for more school reform….
