Two Republican lawmakers have authored a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland asking him to protect churches from radical abortion activists who are threatening potentially violent and destructive protests on Sunday. Leftists have already attacked and trashed a church and pregnancy center in Oregon and Colorado.

Abortion activists plan to “raise hell” at churches across the country on Mother’s Day with protests and, some fear, violence as outrage grows in response to a leaked draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court that overturns Roe v. Wade.

Pro-life pregnancy centers and pro-life advocates already have been the targets of vandalism, violence and harassment this week in response to the news. At least one Catholic church has, too, and more seems likely in the days ahead.

Fox News reports at least two pro-abortion groups are calling for churches, especially Catholic Churches, to be the target of abortion activists’ outrage.

Ruth Sent Us, a pro-abortion group that allegedly posted the addresses of the Supreme Court justices online publicly to encourage harassment, is calling for protests outside Catholic churches this Sunday, Mother’s Day.

“Whether you’re a ‘Catholic for Choice’, ex-Catholic, of other or no faith, recognize that six extremist Catholics set out to overturn Roe,” the group wrote on Twitter, along with a video of abortion activists appearing to disrupt a Catholic Mass. “Stand at or in a local Catholic Church Sun May 8.”

Another pro-abortion group, Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights, also is encouraging pro-abortion protests “outside of churches” on Mother’s Day, according to the report.

“Raise your voice and raise hell! Silence is your stamp of approval,” its website states. “Abortion on demand and without apology!”

In response, according to Fox News, Texas Rep. Chip Roy and Utah Sen. Mike Lee sent a letter Saturday to Attorney General Merrick Garland asking him to marshal resources necessary to protect churches under threat of vandalism and disruptive protest.

“We write to you today extremely concerned by multiple reports surfacing that left-wing activists intend to protest, and possibly disrupt, church services this weekend in direct response to the leaked opinion authored by Justice Alito that would overturn Roe v. Wade,” Lee and Roy wrote…. (Excerpt from LIFENEWS.COM)
